An MSD Opti-Spark ignition system keeps the fire strong and a Turn One power steering pump w/ steel braid pressure hose helps keep the car easily under control. Lot #28 (Sale Order 27 of 136)

Here is a very rare, nearly all-original, right down to the spare tire in the trunk, 1955 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer showing almost 38,000 miles on the odometer. Spending the first half of its life in Arizona, this two-owner car won the Preservation Award at the 2016, 10,000 Lakes Concourse d'Elegance on the shores of Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota. The car features the correct Super Red Ram Hemi 270 CID V8 engine exhaling through dual exhaust with Porter mufflers while sending power to the rear wheels through a Power Flyte automatic transmission. The car is wearing the original 3-tone factory paint and is showing rust free. The interior is original and everything works as it should, including the AM radio. Recent mechanical services to the car include new brakes and shocks on all 4 corners including a brand new set B.F. Goodrich Silver Town Wide White tires, a new radiator, a carburetor rebuild, a new battery, a brand new complete 6V wire harness and the gas tank was professionally cleaned and lined. This car is a stunner!

The 1955 Dodge lineup, consisting of the entry-level Coronet, Royal and ornate Custom Royal, was a major departure for the company. Almost driven out of business in 1953-54, the Chrysler Corporation was revived with a $250 million dollar loan from Prudential and new models were designed by Vergil Exner. The Dodge lineup was positioned as the mainstream line in Chrysler's hierarchy, between DeSoto and Plymouth. The flagship model was the Custom Royal. All hardtop coupe and Custom Royal-only convertible models were called "Custom Royal Lancer," and the "Custom Royal" sedan gained the "Lancer" badge soon after its introduction. The custom line featured unique chrome tailfins, special taillight surrounds and an upscale interior. Backup lights were standard on the "Custom" line but optional on all others. The Custom Royal also featured the 270 CID Super Red Ram engine producing 193 hp.

1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz VIN:58E034885

Lot #63 (Sale Order 63 of 136)

"Standard of the World," style and elegance being the basis of Cadillac's enduring claim on the car industry! One of just 815 produced, SG Auction is very proud to offer a true icon of luxury from the zenith of 50s era American design, a 1958 Cadillac El Dorado Biarritz. Powered by a 335-horsepower, 365 cubic inch V8, the car comes complete with the correct air cleaner and triple-carburetor induction system which helps get all that power to the rear wheels through a 4 speed automatic transmission. The exterior is wearing a handsome blue color but a quick check with the body tag reveals this car started its life in Desert Bronze, Code 98.  The white convertible power top works as it should, while wide whitewall tires and Sabre spoked wheels complete the exterior appointments. The interior is showing white leather with the typical Biarritz luxury appointments including power steering and brakes, power windows, clock and push button radio and Autronic Eye headlight dimmer.

In 1952 and 1953 Cadillac toured 2 prototype cars around the country and it marked the first time the name El Dorado was attached to a potential new model. The second prototype car was named the Townsman. Known together as the Golden Anniversary Cadillacs, they were presented to celebrate the Division's 50th anniversary. The "El Dorado" name turned out to be the suggestion of Marketing executive Mary Ann Zukowsky. As an in-house competition to name the ultimate Cadillac, the stated the word originated in the Spanish term for ?the golden man? or "the gilded one," embodied in the myth of a Colombian tribal king covered in gold dust; it later also referred to the legendary City of Gold for which various explorers in the 1500s feverishly searched South America. With such historical associations, Cadillac's marketing department judged the name worthy of the new model, which it introduced late in the 1953, as a limited-production convertible. Instincts proved right because despite its lofty $7,750 price tag, the Eldorado attracted 532 buyers, including the support of President Dwight D. Eisenhower who rode to his inauguration ceremony in an Alpine White staff convertible. The entire Cadillac line was redesigned for 1957 and, as before, the Eldorado sported its own special styling that included small fins set into a sloping rear deck above circular tail lights. The Eldorado returned little changed for 1958, when the lineup included the Seville two-door hardtop, the Biarritz convertible and the opulent four-door Brougham hardtop.

1986 Porsche 928S - VINWP0JB0922GS860273 - NO RESERVE

Lot #74 (Sale Order 74 of 136)

Some German muscle is coming to Winona MN! This is a strong running example of a mostly original, unmolested, 1986 Porsche 928S; strong running because the odometer is showing just over 27,000 miles. The ride on this car is equally smooth as it is powerful thanks to new Bridgestone Potenza tires: 225/45/16 up front and 245/45/16 out back. This car has the distinction of being the first model completely designed by Porsche and built with only Porsche manufactured parts, you wont find any VW or Mercedes Benz part numbers here! This car features an aluminum, DOHC 32V 5.0-liter engine pushing 300 hp to the rear wheels through the automatic transaxle-- yes transaxle! Porsche engineers pulled out every trick in the book maximize the drivability of the flagship 928 model, which included balancing the car's weight. To offset the weight of the engine in front, aluminum body panels were used with steel panels in the rear along with the transmission. The result is a nimble, smooth and confident ride down the open highway or through tight mountain curves. The car is believed to be wearing the original factory India Red paint, Code 027, and the leather wrapped interior is showing Champagne. This car will be going to a new home because it is being offered at No Reserve!

1970 Buick GS Stage 1 - VIN446370H263586 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 - VIN446370H263586

1970 Buick GS Stage 1 - VIN446370H263586

Lot #77 (Sale Order 77 of 136)

This 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 was built on March 17 and sold to the new owner by Riley Motor Company in Sheridan, Wyoming on April 4, 1970 which was shortly after General Motors management dropped the corporate mandate of limiting the displacement in it's intermediate models to 400 CI. As luck would have it the Buick engineers had the perfect engine already worked up in the full-size models; the freshly minted 455 CI V-8, which promised enormous potential. In 1970 the GS tune on the 455 included a moderate cam, large valves and a redesigned dual-intake cold-air induction system which was introduced and underrated at 350 HP. The Stage 1 performance package boosted compression from 10.0:1 to 10.5:1 and subbed a more aggressive cam, stiffer valve springs and ported and polished heads with larger valves for a mere $199.05 more. With that, the factory stated an increase of just 10 HP, but any person who drove this car knew the HP increase was much greater! Whatever the actual number, with the exception of Cadillac's 500 CI V-8, the Buick GS Stage 1 delivered the most torque of any American production car in 1970. This GS Stage 1 is wearing understated Burnished Saddle paint and interior with a black vinyl roof. It is a matching-numbers Stage 1 with a "SS" stamped 455 engine mated to a Turbo 400 "BB" stamped automatic transmission sending power to the "OO" stamped case with factory ordered Posi-traction. Optioned with power steering and disc brakes, A/C, the Sonomatic Stereo and tape player, remote mirror, full-length center console on Buick factory 15x7-inch sport wheels this car is loaded up from the factory. This amazing and beautiful Stage 1 coupe is fully documented with the original window sticker, build sheet, Protect-O-Plate and the original Bill of Sale.

1950 Mercury 2 Dr Sedan - VIN50SL04276M

Lot #82 (Sale Order 82 of 136)

Where to even start with this monster affectionately know as MercZilla by the locals! The engine is a good place to start; this professionally built 402 Chevrolet big block, which is bored 30 over runs 11:1 compression, and features rectangular port aluminum heads fitted with roller rockers. The cam and lifters, with 660 lift, are rollers as well. Fuel is delivered to the block via an 850 double pumper Demon carb. Spark is provided by an MDS ignition system and all the hardware tacked to the front of the engine are driven by a reliable Billet Specialties V-Trac pulley system. A trick electric fan system is engineered into both sides of the engine compartment, which keeps the heart of monster running cool. Power is delivered to the 390 cut gears in the Ford 9" rear end running Moser axles to the wheels through a 700 R4 automatic transmission with a 3500 stall converter. The duel exhaust runs 3" pipes with engine notes provided by Flow Master mufflers. For the times when a little more power (and a lot more attention) is needed, electric cut offs are fitted just behind the headers which sneak out un-restricted exhaust just behind the front tire on both sides!  With great power comes great responsibility! A popular quote and philosophy, which was understood and respected in the build of this car. In order to handle the massive power of the 402 big block, significant professional modifications were made to the braking, steering and suspension systems. To insure safe reliable stopping power is always at the ready, a Hydrobost Power Brake Kit was installed and disc brakes were added to all four corners. Ensuring the car goes where the driver commands, a Unisteer rack and pinion system was installed. To keep the wheels on the pavement, tubular control arms riding on QA-1 coil over shocks keep the front end planted and a professionally installed Cal Tracs suspension system supports the rear. The body of the car is wearing Prowler Plum Mist paint with hand painted pin striping and shows rust free and laser straight. The B pillar has been professionally removed and the rear 1/4 windows can be removed. Once the rear 1/4 windows are out, they can be stored in custom made cases that match the interior. Keeping pace with the rest of the car, the interior is totally cool and custom as well. It features power windows and seats while the dash maintains the factory look with modern Auto Meter gauges keeping track of the engine systems. The A/C blows cold and a powerful modern stereo system provides the tunes. For how monstrous this car is, it is equally reliable and ready to hit the road!

1971 Dodge Charger 500 - VINWP23G1E110298

Lot #84 (Sale Order 84 of 136)

That got a Hemi in it? Yup, it do-- this 1971 Dodge Charger 500 features a modern 2012 5.7 liter Hemi sending power to the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual transmission. Custom fabricated headers and pipes were fitted during the body off restoration helping the engine breath. The power train may be from our time, but the theme of the car remains period correct. The exterior, with a new vinyl top, is reflective of a 70s-era custom paint job while the interior showing nearly factory original, right on down to the pistol grip shift handle. The new rims are a nod to the classic Torque Thrusts, coupled with new tires. This combination gives the Charger a great stance while staying true to the 70s era theme.

1968 Dodge Super Bee 426 Hemi WM2J8G244337

Lot #106 (Sale Order 107 of 136)

A numbers-matching, documented, true black-on-black 1968 Dodge Super Bee 426 Hemi, this car is known around the nation as "The Black Bandit." More than deserving of the name than simply being an intimidating 426 monster on the street, this is a Super Bee with a criminal past! Attached to the provenance of this 1 of 125 Super Bees sold new in 1968 with the 426 Hemi, and 1 of 93 optioned with the Torqueflight automatic transmission, is the unusual history of its owners-- legal owners that is.The story goes like this: Ordered new by a gentleman in Shreveport, Louisiana, a notable point in itself because at the time, Louisiana was typically home to folks driving pickup trucks and luggage rack equipped sedans ? which may be a prime reason, from day one, this black beauty attracted everyone's attention. As it turned out, the original owner did not have much time to enjoy this specially ordered stinger. Shortly after bringing it home, the car was stolen by a person of low morals? and impeccable taste! The Super Bee remained local but at large for some time. It was the subject of a few high-speed chases and, unsurprisingly, the police were never able to keep up with the criminal Bee. Eventually, the low moral, high taste scoundrel was brought to Buford T. Justice and the now "Black Bandit" was returned to its rightful owner.
Criminal life had not done much good for the car cosmetically and even worse mechanically. Disenchanted with the whole ordeal, the original owner sold the stinger, and it began a long journey through a bunch of new owners before winding up in Texarkana, Texas. Now completely worn out with 48,000 miles on the odometer, the new owner and Mopar fanatic Bill Sams began a much-needed restoration. As with most restorations, time and energy can get the best of any enthusiast, which was the case with Sams. Enter Bill's good friend, Denny Guest, of Chicago Heights, Illinois. Denny is one of the highest caliber Mopar enthusiasts around. When he found out about this unusual car, he decided it would make a fine addition to his fleet of a dozen of the finest Mopars in the world. A price was agreed to and the southern stinger was sent north. It took a full year to straighten out the body and collect all the correct parts, plus an additional year to complete the 100% ground up, full restoration. This Super Bee is a study in simplicity with the only options being the 426 Hemi motor, Torqueflite automatic transmission, AM radio with rear speaker, right-hand mirror, wood grain steering wheels, tach/clock, and stripe delete which leaves the "Super Bee" decal floating all by its lonesome on the rear quarters. When complete, the Black Bandit rolled out into the crisp Chicago air looking better than the day it rolled off the factory line in 1968. The current owner bought the car from Denny, and it has been in climate controlled storage ever since.
