1980 Susan B. Anthony Dollar Souvenir Set, including all 3 mints, P, D & S. Up for auction is a 1980 Susan B Anthony uncirculated souvenir coin set. The Susan B. Anthony Coin Act was signed into law by President Carter in October 1978, to honor the famous woman who devoted her life to leading the women's suffrage movement in the 19th century. Introduced by the U. S. Mint in 1979, the coin was short lived; struck only in the years 1979, 1980, 1981, and then once again after an eighteen year absence in 1999. This three coin souvenir set includes one 1980 issue dollar coin from each of the following mints: Philadelpia, Denver, and San Francisco. The obverse features the lifelike portrait of Susan B. Anthony, the reverse depicts an American eagle landing on the Moon, talons wrapped around an olive branch, an adaptation of the famous Apollo 11 insignia; the same design previously struck onto the Eisenhower Dollar. The uncirculated 1980 Susan B. Anthony Dollar Souvenir Set is presented in the Original Mint Packaging. The coins, in GEM BU condition, exhibit a superb strike with excellent eye appeal.

***Auction Highlight*** Peace dollar roll ends 1934 & 's', Better than average circ. Great Original Roll of Peace Dollars. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1934, and the other end has an 's' San Francisco Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. The rolls are marked Circ and based on the ends that we can see and the feedback received, they seem to be PQ rolls. Some lucky bidders have gotten key dates and PL's. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1889, and the other end has a 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Peace dollar roll ends 1927 & 'p', Better than average circ. Great Original Roll of Peace Dollars. We only know the top coin showing is the obverse of a 1927 Peace dollar and the bottom is the reverse of an 'p' Philadelphia mint Peace dollar. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1927, and the other end has an 'p' Philadelphia Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. The rolls are marked Circ and based on the ends that we can see and the feedback received, they seem to be PQ rolls. Some lucky bidders have gotten key dates and PL's. ***Auction Highlight*** 1877 Indian Cent 1c Graded g, good by USCG. The Key Date to the whole Indian Cent Series. According to Jaime Hernandez from PCGS, ‘The 1877 Indian Cent is unquestionably the most desirable coin in the entire circulation strike Indian Cent series. It is the second lowest mintage coin in the series, and only the 1909-S Indian cent has a lower mintage. Despite the 1877 Indian cent having the second lowest mintage in the series, it also survives in much smaller numbers than the 1909-S Indian cent. This is mainly due to the lack of coins being collected in 1877 compared to 1909. There is only one reverse die confirmed as striking all existing 1877 Indian cents. However, if there was only one reverse die employed to strike all (877,000)1877 Indian cents, then this lone die should have sustained major planchet flaws when striking such a large mintage. Surprisingly, this is not the case since 1877 cents show no traces of a damaged die. Therefore, it is strongly believed that the mintage of 877,000 coins struck, is actually a highly inflated figure. Nice detail for the grade, good color.

1983 Philadelphia & Denver Mint Souvenir Set Including Special "Bronze" Mint Medals (fc). Exceptionally rare, this is the only source of mint coins for 1983. Souvenir Mint Sets are special Mint Sets that were once sold only at the Philadelphia and Denver Mint gift shops. They contain examples of coins struck at the individual Mint facilities. Traditionally sold only over the counter and not by mail, a set consists of the year's circulating coinage of only one mint in uncirculated quality. The Souvenir Mint Set contains five coins and a special .33-millimeter BRONZE Mint Medal that shows the facility on the obverse and the Treasure Seal on the reverse. The coins were sold enclosed in the same mylar packaging as used for the uncirculated Mint set coins, but instead of being placed inside an illustrated, informational folder, they were usually packaged in plain blue or white envelopes with black lettering signifying the Mint of Issue. This set could only be purchased by visiting the gift shop at the Denver or Philadelphia Mint facility. Therefore many collectors were unabe to get one. These sets quickly became popular and sought after on the secondary market. They are very rare and sought after.

The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1895, and the other end has an 'o' New Orleans Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Rare sealed 1980 Susan B. Anthony Dollar Souvenir Set, including all 3 mints, P, D & S. Up for auction is a Sealed 1980 Susan B Anthony uncirculated souvenir coin set. The Susan B. Anthony Coin Act was signed into law by President Carter in October 1978, to honor the famous woman who devoted her life to leading the women's suffrage movement in the 19th century. Introduced by the U. S. Mint in 1979, the coin was short lived; struck only in the years 1979, 1980, 1981, and then once again after an eighteen year absence in 1999. This three coin souvenir set includes one 1980 issue dollar coin from each of the following mints: Philadelpia, Denver, and San Francisco. The obverse features the lifelike portrait of Susan B. Anthony, the reverse depicts an American eagle landing on the Moon, talons wrapped around an olive branch, an adaptation of the famous Apollo 11 insignia; the same design previously struck onto the Eisenhower Dollar. The uncirculated 1980 Susan B. Anthony Dollar Souvenir Set is presented in the Original Mint Packaging. The coins, in GEM BU condition, exhibit a superb strike with excellent eye appeal.

The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Roll is marked Carson City and the Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1889, and the other end has an 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse. The roll is a solid carson city roll, and Sandi and I guarantee that all 20 coins are cc mint coins. Therefore since we can see one end is an 1889, the roll contains at least one 1889-cc, WOW! We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. Hard Times tokens are privately issued mostly copper large cent sized tokens that were produced from 1833 to 1844. The period of economic hardship during Van Buren's presidency (the Panic of 1837) came to be known as the "Hard Times". With America in a deep recession, people began hoarding coins as a safeguard, and small change disappeared from the marketplace. In response, merchants began buying tokens from private mints so they could make change in business transactions. They were made of copper with a reverse similar to legal U.S. cents. This is a Satirical Hard Times Token. The obverse is dated 1841. The reverse states "MAY / TENTH / 1837" surrounded by wreath surrounded by SPECIE PAYMENTS SUSPENDED. On November 27th, 1837 representatives from the leading banks of nineteen states met in New York to determine a date for resumption of specie payments - the date eventually being set as May 10th, 1838. HT-68.

The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1889, and the other end has a 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. ***Auction Highlight*** Incredible Find, Uncirculated Morgan Dollar Shotgun Roll with 1889 on one end & cc mint on the other end. . Great Original Brilliant Uncirculated Roll of Morgan Dollars. The Two ends showing are the obverse of a 1889, which is lightly toned and very clean, looks ms64/65, and the other end has a 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse, also looking ms64/65. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Your choice to open the shotgun roll or leave it as is, but if you do open the Roll, please let us know what you find. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1895, and the other end has an 's' San Francisco Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far.
