This note has a yellow seal and blue serial numbers. In November 1942, American forces under Patton landed in North Africa and began the road to victory over Nazi Germany. They carried these emergency-issue yellow-sealed notes, specially produced for the Operation Torch invasion. Yellow-seal notes could be declared worthless if large quantities fell into enemy hands. Difficult to find all Original 1955 United States uncirculated Mint Set. The 1955 set is a double set which includes 22 coins. It has two examples of each coin made by the U.S. of each coin made by the U.S. government for 1955. These sets were made for collectors; there were two holes for each denomination, where the coins were place displaying the obverse and reverse designs. Like the other mint sets of this era, the packaging of these sets generally resulted in beautifully toned coins. These sets command a significant premium. This particular set has all original and very beautiful toning. A very PQ set with excellent eye appeal. Please look at the pictures.

This 1917 $1 note is the last large-sized legal tender bank note ever issued. It's referred to as a 'Horseblanket Note,' due to their large size. The obverse features Washington and a vignette of Columbus sighting America. The reverse shows a "sawhorse" design. Add in the bright red seal and serial umbers and you've got a miniature work of art.

RARE 1955/55 Double Die Obv, The KING of the Lincolns, FS-101. One of the all time favorite and sought after coins. Even people who don’t collect coins know about the famous 55 double die. This coin is scarce and valuable in any grade and any condition.

Great Original Roll of Morgan Dollars. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1895, and the other end has an 'o' New Orelans Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. The 1909-S VDB ranks as one of the most popular and widely known of all the Lincoln cents and some might argue that it is one of the favorites in the entire run of United States coins. Collectors love coins with stories, and this one has a couple. First, there's the controversy over the initials on the reverse. The short period of time in which the VDB coins were produced in San Francisco led to the second desirable attribute of this coin: it's low mintage. Only 484,000 Cents were issued with the VDB initials, creating an instant scarcity. It's popularity has remained high ever since. David Hall shares two stories; This may be the most well known U.S. coin. The first story is from a presentation I recently gave at a PCGS "members" coin show. I was discussing the "future of the coin market" and the audience was about 40 people. I started the presentation by asking the audience, "How many here have been buying/collecting coins for more than 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?" Then I asked if there was anyone who was an absolute newcomer to the coin market and two people raised their hands. Later in the presentation I was telling stories about how some coins were more popular than others. I asked, "What is the most well known U.S. coin?" and I pointed to one of the gentlemen who had earlier indicated he was a complete newcomer to coin collecting and he answered, "That penny, that 1909-S VDB penny." The second story involves my son. A few years ago, as a 12 year old, my son was collecting Lincoln cents. We'd go to the Saturday bid board at the local coin shop and he'd go to the Long Beach coin show and buy a few coins. He was buying circulated coins and trying to get one of every date. He would always look at 1909-S VDBs, but he couldn't afford one. One day he made the following statement, "Dad, I'd eat worms for an S VDB." That about says it all, doesn't it.

Great Original Roll of Morgan Dollars. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1893, and the other end has an 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Although series of 1907 is written on the bill; Some bills were printed as late as 1927 and 1928. You can tell approximately when it was printed based on the signature combinations used by the signing treasury officials. The series of 1907 $5 bill was the last note of that denomination that Andrew Jackson was featured on. He later made an appearance on the ten dollar bill before being switched to the twenty dollar bill in 1928. The nickname for the 1907 $5 bill is the wood chopper. The note has the portrait of Andrew Jackson on the left hand side. The central image is that of a pioneer family moving west. A husband and wife are pictured with their young baby. There is also a hound dog in the frame. The man is holding an ax. This note has a red overprint. The treasury seal and serial numbers are printed in red ink. There is also a red V printed on the left hand side of the bill in red ink. As you can probably guess, that red V signifies the value as a Roman numeral.

Very rare original 1948 Mint Set. This is a 28 coin set and the set includes two examples of each coin made by the U.S. government for the year. This set is packaged in three cardboard holders, with each holder representing a different mint. There were two holes for each denomination, where the coins were placed displaying the obverse and reverse designs. Because of the sulfur content of the packaging, the coins within these early mint sets have toned over time. This 'mint set toning' often carries significant premiums. This particular set is all original and has beautiful toning on many of the coins. Please see the pictures. A very PQ, original set.

The Two ends showing are the obverse of a 1879, which looks ms64/65, and the other end has a 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse, which has some light toning and also looking ms64/65. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Your choice to open the shotgun roll or leave it as is, but if you do open the Roll, please let us know what you find. Extremely RARE, all original 1949 uncirculated mint set. This is a 'double mint set'. A 28 coin set, that includes two examples of each coin made by the U.S. government for the year. These sets were made for collectors;; there were two holes for each denomination, where the coins were placed displaying the obverse and reverse designs. A notable feature of these early mint sets is the distinctive toning, which develops due to the sulfur content of the original packaging. This beautiful toning garners substantial premiums. It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor. Everybody in Hawaii was sitting on pins and needles. Were the Japanese preparing a massive invasion of the islands? If they did invade, they could use the millions of dollars in currency on the islands to buy war material. To thwart this, these $1 Federal Reserve Notes were sent to the islands. Each has a large HAWAII printed on the reverse. If the Japanese did invade, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "Hawaii" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.

The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1895, and the other end has an 's' San Francisco Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Fractional or postage currency has a rich history. At the beginning of the Civil War people started hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Three cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents, and fifty cents notes were all issued. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number. These notes were printed between July 14, 1869 and February 16, 1875. Each note was signed by Allison and Spinner. All fourth issue fractional notes have a red or green treasury seal. They were the first fractional series to incorporate that design element. Issued in 1903 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Louisiana purchase. This commemorative was issued with two obverses and one reverse. The two Obverses are the McKinley and the Jefferson. The McKinley is slightly scarcer than the Jefferson, per PCGS. When the mint was considering who to put on the commemorative. Jefferson was the obvious 1st choice as he was the president at the time of the purchase from France and the 2nd choice was McKinley, who had died in office a year prior and had been the one who originally signed the legislation for the minting of the coin.

Great Original Roll of Morgan Dollars. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Roll is marked Carson City and the Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1893, and the other end has an 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse. The roll is a solid carson city roll, and Sandi and I guarantee that all 20 coins are cc mint coins. Therefore since we can see one end is an 1889, the roll contains at least one 1889-cc, WOW! We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. Although series of 1907 is written on the bill; Some bills were printed as late as 1927 and 1928. You can tell approximately when it was printed based on the signature combinations used by the signing treasury officials. The series of 1907 $5 bill was the last note of that denomination that Andrew Jackson was featured on. He later made an appearance on the ten dollar bill before being switched to the twenty dollar bill in 1928. The nickname for the 1907 $5 bill is the wood chopper. The note has the portrait of Andrew Jackson on the left hand side. The central image is that of a pioneer family moving west. A husband and wife are pictured with their young baby. There is also a hound dog in the frame. The man is holding an ax. This note has a red overprint. The treasury seal and serial numbers are printed in red ink. There is also a red V printed on the left hand side of the bill in red ink. As you can probably guess, that red V signifies the value as a Roman numeral.

It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor. Everybody in Hawaii was sitting on pins and needles. Were the Japanese preparing a massive invasion of the islands? If they did invade, they could use the millions of dollars in currency on the islands to buy war material. To thwart this, these $1 Federal Reserve Notes were sent to the islands. Each has a large HAWAII printed on the reverse. If the Japanese did invade, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "Hawaii" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.

Great Original Brilliant Uncirculated Roll of Morgan Dollars. The Two ends showing are the obverse of a 1889, which is lightly toned and very clean, looks ms64/65, and the other end has a 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse, also looking ms64/65. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Your choice to open the shotgun roll or leave it as is, but if you do open the Roll, please let us know what you find. It is a rare piece of American history, and a true prize for collectors. The period of economic hardship during Van Buren's presidency (the Panic of 1837) came to be known as the "Hard Times". With America in a deep recession, people began hoarding coins as a safeguard, and small change disappeared from the marketplace. In response, merchants began buying tokens from private mints so they could make change in business transactions. They were made of copper with a reverse similar to legal U.S. cents.

Hard to find all Original 1954 United States uncirculated Mint Set. The 1954 set is a double set which includes 30 coins. It is two examples of each coin made by the U.S. government for the year. These sets were made for collectors; there were two holes for each denomination, where the coins were placed displaying the obverse and reverse designs. Long term storage within the original packaging generally resulted in beautifully toned coins. These sets generally command a significant premium. At the beginning of the Civil War people starting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number. These notes were printed between July 14, 1869 and February 16, 1875. Each note will be signed by Allison and Spinner. All fourth issue fractional notes have a red or green treasury seal. They were the first fractional series to incorporate that design element. This is also the first series to issue a fifteen cent fractional note. A prior fifteen cent note had been designed, but it was never issued.
