Rare NSFK Segelfliegerabzeichen Stufe "C" Glider Pilot Badge Lot #24 (Sale Order 26 of 247) Textbook 3rd pattern badge with needle pin. Forged in steel/iron with applied white enamel gulls. The pin is not magnetic as it should not be. Very rare badge and is in excellent collectible condition. This award consists of a round oak leaf wreath that measures 45 mm. At the base is the flying man emblem of the NSFK with the semi-circular banner over his head. This has incused, in small capital letters, 'NSFK'. Where his feet just break the lower edge of the wreath is a single acorn on either side with a single oak leaf above. From this, on either side, are six bunches of two oak leaves. These are very well defined and have a raised central vein with separate side veins running from it. The serrations on the leaves form the inner and outer edges of the wreath. The bunches of leaves meet tip to tip at the apex of the wreath. On to the wreath are superimposed three separate seagulls that have raised outer edge lines and the resultant fields are in filled with opaque, white enamel. The reverse is semi dished and clearly shows that it is of a different material to the obverse. Careful inspection of the edge line indicates that the reverse has had the obverse sweated to it after the seagulls have been applied. On the left side of the badge, lightly stamped in small capital letters is, 'EIGENTUM des NS - FLIEGERKORPS GES GESCH 29240. The badge is silvered all over and then artificially patinated.

The maker is one of only 2 known to have produced this pin, HOFFSTATTER BONN. It is numbered 137177. Rare and original pin. The SS Zivilabzeichen (Runic "SS"-Z.A.), was a badge of the SS issued between the years of 1933 and 1938 to SS members. Translated as "SS Civil Badge", the SS Zivilabzeichen was a small lapel pin worn on civilian clothing to denote membership in the SS. The badge was most commonly awarded to members of the Sicherheitspolizei who were veteran SS members. There appears to have been no set criteria for the SS-Z.A.'s issuance, and an SS member had only to apply to the SS-Hauptamt in order to receive the civil badge.

Captured Double Sided NSDAP Flag Taken From Ford-Werke Plant In Cologne Lot #134 (Sale Order 138 of 247) Ford-Werke was a German subsidiary plant of US based Ford Motor Company located in Cologne, Germany during WW2. Very interesting facts about this while doing research! This plant was not hit during any Allied bombing raids! There is a period piece of masking tape written in ink by the vet stating "Taken March 1945 From Ford Plant Flag Pole Cologne Germany" Let the conspiracy theories live on! Anyway, Flag is double sided with reinforced sewn flag pole loop. Heavy soiling in places and minor fading. Historical flag to say the least as Ford's subsidiary was making vehicles for the German Army throughout WW2! It measures Approx. 93" X 39"

Rare Original WW2 Waffen SS Officer's Tunic With "GERMANIA" Cuff Title Lot #198 (Sale Order 205 of 247) About as good as it gets. The bullion shoulder boards with black underlay and white piping are tailor sewn into the shoulder seams. Each displays 1 pip and the Germania "G" device. The bullion SS collar tab is tightly sewn and you can see where a few bullion strands have "stretched" exposing the unterlagen . The rank tab denotes the rank of SS-Obersturmfuhrer. Beautifully executed hand embroidered Officer's arm eagle also having the proper period unterlagen. Period cuff title with flat wire bullion embroidered lettering and a gray silk border. The body is medium fine Feldgrau wool and is finely tailored. The cut is typical early Wehrmacht to SS conversion which makes sense as the Germania Division was one of the first SS divisions to be formed from the Wehrmacht. The 2nd button is positioned slightly lower from the top button in relation to the distance between the lower buttons. The bottle green SS style pointed collar has been backed with an HBT material. The rear has been nicely tailor pleated. The lining is of a soft cotton sheen material ands displays very moderate wear, mainly at the lower edge of the bandage pocket. It is maker and size stamped. There is a 3 place ribbon bar above the left breast pocket and there are sewn loops on the pocket for 3 more awards/badges. This tunic has been shown to several knowledgeable collectors in person and was presented n the Wehrmacht Awards Forum and all have confirmed it is an original early war period example. No mothing evident. The photographs do not do it justice at all. Here is a link to the WAF review for this tunic.. http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=922699

Scarce WW2 SHD/Luftschutz Belt Buckle Lot #202 (Sale Order 209 of 247) Crisp original example. Traces of original silvered finish still remain in the recesses and appears to have been polished. Hard buckle to find. Was worn by the SHD (Sicherheits und Hilfs Dienst). The SHD, Sicherheits und Hilfs Dienst, (Security and Assistance Service), was formed in May 1937 as a uniformed, voluntary, civilian, organization under control of the RLM, Reichsluftfahrtministerium, (National Ministry of Aviation). The SHD worked in conjunction with the RLB, Reichs Luftschutz Bund, (National Air Raid Protection League), and the LSW, Luftschutzwarndienst, (Air Raid Warning Service), in the civil air defence network, with its primary functions being decontamination, fire fighting, rescue and repair and assisting civilian personnel and securing buildings following an air raid. For a short period of time, (June 1939-March 1940), SHD rank insignia was displayed as a series of green armbands with various, white, horizontal bars to indicate the specific ranks until March 1940 when shoulder strap rank insignia was introduced to replace the armbands. For a short period after the introduction of the shoulder strap rank insignia the armbands, without the rank bars, were utilized as cufftitles. Of Note: SHD rank insignia underwent a few minor modifications during the war. Also Of Note: In mid-1942 the organization was renamed Luftschutz-Polizei, (Air Protection Police), and came under control of the Ordnungspolizei, (Order Police).

Black Bakelite grooved grip has traces of the original white paint finish. Typical Klaas cross guard, pommel and scabbard showing the Klaas signature "asterisk" used to disguise the hanger ring seams. Double edged steel blade shows minor nicks and age graying. Rare original railway protection police portapee of silver bullion with purple accents. It is in correct tie and appears to have always been with this dagger. The grip does have a couple of superficial stress cracks and photos show the extent for your own judgement. In overall extremely fine collectible condition. A rare example!
