Deluxe Model German Senior Forestry Official Hirschfanger With Portapee-Post War Lot #180 (Sale Order 193 of 194) We decided to list this item because of the excellent quality! White plastic grip plates with acorn motif has a slight "wiggle". Clamshell guard with raised relief swastika. Crisply detailed fittings with gold gilt finish. Bullion gold portapee with Forest Green accents is very intricate with age toning. (May even be WW2 period....?). Double sided blade with very crisp laser etched panels depicting hunting scenes. Maker mark is the postwar "HORSTER-SOLINGEN" instead of the proper wartime hallmark of "E & F Horster". Thick leather scabbard and frog. Lower scabbard is very ornate. Very attractive Hirschfanger and would certainly be an excellent filler until the period one came along!
