Scarce Double Decal SA M44 Helmet With Liner

Scarce example having the darker olive drab painted finish. Foil decals are both 95+% intact and show age crazing. The shell is the one piece Gladiator style commonly referred to as the M44 helmet most often found with no decal or a front applied Luftschutz decal. This particular example was an issue helmet to the SA. WE can't find the usual RLB helmet shell stamping anywhere on the rear inside flange. It either is too lightly stamped or is not present, again indicating this helmet is an SA issue. Original late war soft canvas/cloth liner is in excellent condition. In excellent overall condition. If you only wanted one of these scarce SA issue late war helmets, this is the one! It would be nearly impossible to upgrade for a better condition example!

One of the more difficult German Army Officer swords to find. Nicely detailed fittings with hand chased accents. Wire wrapped black celluloid grip is in excellent condition. Fittings still retain a lot of the original gold finish and has the scarce leather finger pull upgrade. Mirror bright blade is in excellent condition. Original black painted scabbard shows some finish and age crazing. We found one other example out there on the web and the asking price was over $3,000! Rare sword!

A lot of these were sold as souvenir boards to Occupation forces. The ones most commonly seen don't have a maker logo on the board as this one has the Deumer logo. There are 10 badges/medals/campaign shields included. All are attached to the board with the exception of the original unfinished Fritz Todt badge which is loose. Items are as follows: NARVIK & KRIM shields, RAD Service, Eastern Front w/ribbon bar, KVK 2nd class w/swords with ribbon bar, Mother's Cross in silver, Driver Sleeve rate and Fritz Todt Honor Badge. All are WW2 period.

Very well tailored example. The piping is more light crimson than pink in our opinion. That being the case it is the Waffenfarbe color worn by Veterinary or General Officer's staff and is applied properly. Twisted braid silver bullion officer's piping. Bullion eagle and cockade. There is a spot of damage just above the eagle's head. Minor soiling and wear throughout. It is 55 size stamped.

Scarce-War Merit Knights Cross/War Merit 1st Class W/O Swords Stickpin-Steinhauer & Luck

The only thing we can conclude is this is a rare stickpin worn by a recipient of the War Merit Knights and War Merit Cross 1st Class without swords. Indicated by the larger size KVK. The stickpin is maker marked L/16 for the firm of Steinhauer & Luck which was a maker of both of these awards. Knurled pin shaft.

Chin strap and leather liner are still supple and liner is named. Shell is maker/size stamped SE62 with a rear flange lot number of 3824 which falls right in the middle of the lot range for double decal Luftwaffe helmets by this maker. There is rub wear to the decals. Nice solid example!

Scarce WW2 Dbl Barrel Luftwaffe Flieger-Leuchtpistole L (Aviators Flare Gun L) 1941 FZS

Rare Krieghoff Double Barreled Flare Pistol. Great example of the Luftwaffe Flieger-Leuchtpistole L or Aviators Flare Gun L. These double barrel, 26.5mm (4 Bore) signal pistols were issued to Luftwaffe aircrews in order to give them a method of communication that did not rely on their radio transmitters. This pistol is marked with Krieghoff’s Factory Code FZS under the date 1941 to the rear of the safety lever on the left side of the frame. The tops of the barrels are both marked with a 4 in a circle (4-Bore) over the German definitive black powder proof (1939-1945) of an (EAGLE) / SP. There is a maker’s logo or crest in this central area on the rear of the frame, a branch within a shield, centered between the L & R of the barrel selector lever. The signal pistol is marked with the serial number 6504 on the forward lower portion of the right-hand side of the frame, and the Luftwaffe contract number FL.24483 is present on the opposite side of the frame. Pistol also marked with Luftwaffe acceptance marks. The gun has a frame mounted safety with F and S markings. The pistol uses a break open design that is activated by pushing the release lever forward. This action releases the locking lugs, opens the action, cocks the pistol and automatically sets it on safe. After closing the action, the shooter can use the selector switch on the rear of the frame to determine whether they want to fire the Left barrel, Right barrel or both barrels simultaneously, by pulling the split trigger. The pistol retains about 80%+ of its original blued finish, with most of the wear and finish loss confined to the sides of the barrels due to normal period holster wear. The pistol is in excellent mechanical condition and functions perfectly, with a crisp, tight action. The two-piece mottled brown composite grips are in very good condition. They retain sharp checkering, with only some minor handling and finish wear.

Triple wire wrapped black celluloid grip in in excellent condition. The owner's initials of MS or HS are nicely engraved in a gothic intertwined manner. Bright finish steel blade shows some minor areas of age graying and spots of finish. It has the engraved inscription which appears to be "Gelobt Sei, was hart macht" which roughly translates to "Be praised, what makes hard" . Original black painted scabbard finish shows age crazing and spots of finish loss.

RARE! Original U-Boat Ace Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock Photo Album Grouping

Amazing photo album grouping named to Fregattenkapitän Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock (11 December 1911 – 18 April 1986) was a submarine commander in the Kriegsmarine of Nazi Germany during World War II. He was sixth among the top ten successful U-boat commanders during the Battle of the Atlantic against the Allies, in terms of tonnage of merchant ships sunk. He commanded four U-boats, and his most successful tour was commanding the U-96 a Type VIIC U-boat, which gained widespread recognition when one of its patrols was documented and publicized by an accompanying member of a propaganda company Lothar-Günther Buchheim. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. The story of the U-96 was eventually made into a mini-series and film called Das Boot. Group includes Willenbrock's 1957 issue Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and his early Seaman School cap tally. There are several portrait type photographs with his facsimile signature. Thick jacket folder with photocopies of what appears to be all his war service records and biography. The 3 photo albums are absolutely and amazingly historical, depicting Willenbrock's 1935 Far East Cruise aboard the light cruiser SMS Karlsruhe. There are dozens of original photographs including photo of a burial at sea. There are also dozens of original photographs throughout the remaining photo albums depicting crews on U-boats and U-Boat pens. Many of the photographs show the conning tower U-Boat numbers of some fairly famous U-Boats. Willenbrock sunk 24 allied ships for a 6th best 170,237 GRT (Gross Registered Tons) of all WW2 U-Boat Commanders.

The rubber fittings are still soft with one of the eye cover lids missing. This pair still has the rubber carry strap which is usually long gone and replaced with a leather carry strap. The optics have a yellowish clouding but not enough to impede sight. The case has the Eagle/M stamping and the date/maker 1944 beh. The leather carry strap is intact and one of the top leather "hinge" straps has broken. Rare binoculars in any condition!

P08 Luger Holster-Swedish M/39 Police Holster?

This appears to be a rare Holster for the Swedish M / 39, probably made by Germany. The Swedish M / 39 is very similar to the standard German-made Hard Shell of the P.38 Police Holster and the two Holsters are easily confused. Also, Germany produced two Holsters for the M / 39. This could explain why this Holster looks like a German P.38 Police Holster, but has a Magazine Pouch for a Luger Magazine, but never had the leather pouch installed for the Luger Tool. This Holster is of a heavier grade of leather that would have been used by the Germans. Holsters made by Sweden would have been of a thinner grade of leather. During our research on this Holster we were unable to find any pictures of the M / 39 German made Holsters. Three possible questions for the collecting community. 1) If this is a German P.38 Police Holster, why does it have a magazine slot for a Luger Magazine? 2) If this a German Luger Police Holster, why does it not have the leather pouch for the Luger Tool? 3) If this Holster was made for a German P.38 or German Luger, why are there no markings? The Swedish Holsters for the M / 39 are often found without the logo and markings. This Holster has no markings, except for some verbiage inside the top flap that is unreadable. Note: If this had been a Luger Holster, the leather pouch for the Luger Tool would have been installed in this area and this Holster has never had this leather pouch installed. Holster's stitching is in very good shape. The belt loops are in very good shape. On the front, flap closure is achieved by a pull-down type latching strap which pins to a metal stud affixed in the cover flap. Note: The small piece of leather that holds the latching strap tight to the Holster is missing and appears to have never been installed on this Holster. Leather feels very dense and has an oily feel. It appears that the leather has been preserved with some type of chemical. This is a great opportunity to acquire on what appears to be a rare M / 39 Holster that is German made

Just an amazing historical and early Aero/Aviation item! Original WW1 U.S. Aviator's soft leather pilot's flight jacket. The last 2 photos show the original grouping that was offered through Heritage Galleries Auction Co. and shows this jacket as being part of the group. We did offer for auction the long leather Flyer's coat several auctions ago (Lot #23 In Our March 10, 2018 Auction) and are including a photo of that jacket also and is not included in this lot..ONLY the jacket photographed in it's entirety is offered. The jacket is in very fine overall condition. There is wear around the cuffs and the lining does have a few places of stitch separation. Nicely hand painted artwork on the reverse which has age crazing and slight yellowing. The zipper has separated from the jacket slightly at the bottom but will still close. There is some wear to the Mouton collar. This jacket has been documented and belonged to the famous early stunt aviator ORMER LESLIE LOCKLEAR. Locklear was a pioneer in the art of "Wing Walking" and flew with the William Pickens Flying Circus. Locklear was Killed while on set filming his 2nd movie pertaining to early stunt flying...Please google this one..Maybe should belong in the Smithsonian...Or your collection!!

Vietnam War Period L-2B Flight Jacket Named To USAF Brig. General G.K. Sykes (U-102)

In excellent condition . It has a Vietnam Period Contract tag dated 1970. A brief biography is as follows: "General Sykes was born in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1921. He graduated from Upper Darby High School, Upper Darby, Pa., in 1938, and attended Pennsylvania State until 1939. He was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., in 1939, and graduated with a bachelor of science degree and a commission as a second lieutenant in January 1943. He attended pilot training in the Southeast and received his pilot wings at the advanced flying school at Columbus, Miss., in 1943. During World War II, his first duty assignment, from April to December 1943, was as a P-38 Lightning instructor pilot in Glendale, Calif. General Sykes flew 49 combat missions over Germany and France in P-38 Lightning and P-51 Mustang aircraft with the 435th Fighter Squadron, Eighth Air Force. In June 1946 he returned to the United States and served in the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Headquarters U.S. Army Air Forces, Washington, D.C. He entered the University of Pennsylvania as a postgraduate student in industrial management in September 1948, and was awarded a master of business administration degree in July 1950. In August 1950 he was assigned to Headquarters Strategic Air Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., as chief, Air Order of Battle and Tactics Branch, and later as chief, Operational Intelligence Branch, Air Estimates Division. His next assignment, in February 1953, was at Turner Air Force Base, Ga., where he served first as deputy commander, and then as assistant director of operations, 40th Air Division. The nameplate reads "??rgen Erwin Rommel" The rareness of anything Rommel is due to the fact that Hitler wanted everything associated with Rommel be destroyed when he was found to be a traitor. Most likely made by Jargen, a prominent maker of sculptures and busts during the Third Reich Period.

Aircraft float light made from light wood and metal. The float light is shaped like an aircraft bomb and is designed to float on the water surface while giving off a signal light. Markings - AIRCRAFT FLOAT LIGHT MK IV; LOT No. 365 3/43 TRIUMPH EXPLOSIVES INC. M.F.B. Aircraft/pilot locater float lights used to help locate downed aircraft and pilots. The float light was used by Allied air forces, including the Royal Australian Air Force, during the Second World War.

Rare WW2 German Trolley Car/Bus Aluminum Alloy Eagle

You certainly don't see many aluminum Trolley Eagles compared to the Railway type. These smaller eagles were used on 3rd Reich buses and trolleys and also make great additions to highlight a dagger or gun display. This eagle measures 16 inches from wing tip to tip. The bird faces to the viewer's left. The detail to the wing feathering, breast, talons, and the raised swastika within the wreath are outstanding. Some trolley eagles have been found with red swastika backgrounds, thus the Red coloring on the reverse is original. The entire eagle shows only modest patination, still being quite crisp. The reverse of the eagle's right and left wings respectively, have a cast-in markings consisting of a "V" on the left and right side. In the center area behind the breast is a raised mounting stud which has been threaded. At the upper edge area of each wing, there is also a mounting position which is holed and threaded. The same arrangement is present at the reverse center of the swastika. A fine opportunity here to acquire one of these very rarely seen eagle types. Rare original example in great condition!

Twisted bullion wire piping is larger diameter on front scallops when compared to the piping on the crown. There is evidence of moth tracking and a few small moth nips. Minor soiling throughout and no reaction to UV lighting. This cap did come from a WW2 vet estate and we believe this early cap to be period, with original insignia, but due to the unusual pattern and application of the piping, please bid based on your own research, research and/or expertise.

Scabbard has a few small dings and dents scattered. Early version having an anodized finish main body. Throat and tip fittings are nickel plated. There is one scabbard throat fitting screw missing and both of the scabbard tip fitting screws are missing.

Crisply detailed fittings still retain a lot of the original gold gilt finish. Unusual braided wire grip wrap in the grooves of the black celluloid grip which has a couple of cracks in the celluloid. Rare pattern eagle on the langet with the eagle head having a rear "tuft" and is facing to the right. It is very similar in style used by German NSDAP officials..Penal, Justice..Etc... When researching we found an exact style eagle on a sword with a "Chinless" Lion head pommel listed as unattributed and made by WKC. We could not find this particular dove head model. Bright steel blade shows minor wear and no maker mark. Unusual red felt cross guard/blade buffer. Original finish scabbard show normal period wear. rare sword that good possibly be the sleeper in the auction!

Interior has a private purchase tailor label. There is a post war visor cap with original insignia, Kreisleiter armband with original center, post war shirt/tie, and an original NSDAP tie pin with RZM markings that will be included to make for a nice display. Scarce collar tabs and Blood Order ribbon are the important things here!

Rare visor hat. WW1 period hat worn by USN/USNR and/or UAMC aviation cadets. The forest green body has faded. There is a bullion fouled anchor sewn to the front. Thin gold bullion cloth chin strap held into place with USNR anchor buttons. (Even rarer to find these with these buttons!) The visor shows age crazing. Cap has become misshapen over time and crown does has a few small holes/picks. Ribbed cap band also shows fading. Leather sweat band is intact and has some stitch separation from the main body. Yellow gold satin interior shows some tears and wear. It ids maker stamped. In overall very good collectible condition...Rare to find this cap in any condition!

Good quality 1950’s tinplate toy windup military jeep. There are three US Military Police officer figures in their jeep. All three officers are wearing their white covered peaked caps with one driver, one map reader and one radio operator. It is painted olive drab with U.S. army decals. It is the J-2500 model made by Arnold in West Germany with the logo and ‘MADE IN WEST GERMANY’ on the underside of the jeep as well as the front bumper sticker, the rear bumper section and on all of its tires. The license tag is dated 1953. A few bits of wear here and there but still a worthwhile addition to any set. Original key is not present.

Super Rare WW2 USN Aircraft Carrier Directional Code Disc

These discs were considered Top Secret. They were for use with the Type CWS-23271 Antenna Control unit by Aircraft Carriers in the Pacific to send coded directional signals to guide the aircraft retuning from missions back to the carrier. Brass and thick steel construction. Extremely rare item!

WW2 British Royal Navy Women's Uniform-WRNS Officer-Named (U-199)

Very dark navy blue smooth doe skin wool body. Double breasted with 2 rows of 4 gold gilt crowned anchor buttons. 2 lower slash pockets. The interior has 2 slash breast pockets and 2 lower slashes that give access to the exterior lower pockets. Each cuff has the blue braid as was authorized for wear to denote rank of officer. The tailor tag inside the right interior breast pocket is dated May/42 and named to "Miss D. Wood W.R.N." The skirt is also made of a fine quality doe skin wool. It has a zipper back and double pleats on one side. There are no pockets. The jacket and skirt both have signs of light scattered mothing but does not detract from display. The Women's Royal Navy Service was the smallest of all the women's auxiliary branches with a membership of only around 2,500 since the Navy was not around much in home port and women were not allowed on the ships. Scarce set!
