Spotting, wear, tiny dent, somewhat subdued colors--the reverse text suggest using this tray on your table (for shakers or a cream pitcher). Nice advertising piece.

Patented in 1919. Scratches from use inside the little compartments and other minor indications of use. Something we do not encounter regularly.

Vintage "Cottage Barometer" Lot #40 (Sale Order 40 of 350) Neat little hanging item made of wood with two metal support poles. 8 3/4" tall, with a thermometer and storm glass--whose purpose was to indicate the type of weather to expect. The back has considerable text that consists of directions; this has become scuffed and darkened enough that it is difficult in places to read all of the lettering. No indication of maker.

Minor flaws front and back, but both the image and mirror are in quite decent condition.

Detroit Casket Co advertising mirror Lot #45 (Sale Order 45 of 350) Celluloid advertising mirror that measures 3 1/2" in diameter with mirror on reverse. Central image is of a huge redwood log, as they used redwood in the manufacture of their caskets. Good condition, with indications of wear and use commensurate with age. Mirror has some peripheral clouding, a few marks, and a flat flake at the rim.

Red Wheel Gas Ranges glass sign Lot #71 (Sale Order 71 of 350) A reverse painted advertising sign with wood backing. 12" x 5"--the wood backing has remnants of a paper label that used to cover it and now occupies just a corner of the reverse. Red grease pencil date of 2/15/27 on reverse. The reverse painted image on the front shows marked chipping on the left half, while the right half shows virtually none. Something precipitated this happening, though we are not sure what. Has to be a scarce piece!

Scarce, old cast iron Artillery Bank Lot #126 (Sale Order 126 of 350) Not intended to be a two piece bank, this one, sadly, has been broken in two. The cannon firing mechanism works well. The soldier appears to be missing part of one foot and the "bank" is missing the small panel on the bottom that kept the coins in the bank. Has an 1892 patent date impressed in the bottom and was made by J and E Stevens.

Pittsburgh Paints & Grapette glass banks Lot #127 (Sale Order 127 of 350) The Pittsburgh Paints glass block bank is 3 1/4" tall with embossed lettering on one side and embossed sunshine on the other. The Grapette clown bank with original tin top (the coin slot has never been cut) stands 7 1/4" tall and has embossed lettering on base. There is a noticeable impact mark (in glass parlance this is called a bruise) on the front surface below and left of the clowns face.

Gorgeous plaster female nude Lot #268 (Sale Order 268 of 350) This first appears to be a lamp, and it is, but it isn't--and was not intended to be. Where the immodest young lady is staring down into pool, someone has cored out from underneath and put a socket for a lamp bulb. There are no wires connecting to this, however. Approx 14 1/2" tall. Paint is good on this lissome lady, and, in fact, over most of the piece, with just a few small flakes. Highly desirable piece!

Hinged top lid; slight warp to top lid making it difficult to secure closure and, when opened, the back and front layers of the lid have separated. Still an uncommon piece these days.

Phoenix Insurance Co framed sign Lot #343 (Sale Order 343 of 350) Approx 26 3/4" x 20 3/4" framed size. Since we did not remove the backing, it is difficult to determine the composition of this sign, but it certainly APPEARS to be reverse painted glass. We base this on some minor chipping we see as indications of it being reverse painted. It's old, it has minor issues, but it's a great sign.

Very unusual antique item, with last patent date of Nov 21, 1893. Wear, scuff, dents--sure, it's old and can't help it. Utterly wonderful piece.

Huge pottery jardinière Lot #345 (Sale Order 345 of 350) 10" tall with a 12" opening. Brown and green glaze that dates this piece to circa 1920's/30's. Unmarked. Crack extends from top rim to near the bottom and then travels horizontally for several inches. An "as found" lot.
