Civil War Boot and 3 spurs Lot #248 (Sale Order 248 of 522) This is a custom made Civil War boot with it's original spur. This item is notable for several reasons. The story that came with the boot is that it belonged to an officer, who lost his leg in combat. The etching on the boot is said to have come from the soldier's blood. The brass spur is also notable for how it attaches to the Calvary boot. It is easy to understand how so many spurs were lost in combat as the leather could easily be cracked and broken. That would then cause the loss of the spur. The other two brass Civil War spurs are good examples of the spurs used at this time. The Buermann Co. provided many of the spurs used by the Union soldiers.
