Glen L. Bowers Military Service Collection. Glen Bowers was a First Lieutenant P-51 Fighter Pilot during WWII. His squadron was the 487TH FIGHTER SQUADRON 352ND FIGHTER GRP 8TH AF MEYER'S MAULERS. He has been recognized for his exemplary flying skills and destroying critical enemy targets. His group, "The Mustang Fighter Group," received the coveted Presidential Distinquished Unit Citation for extraordinary heroism, determination and espirit de corps in action against the enemy. He was responsible for the success of many missions. This is a mixture of items from his life during that time. First in this list are two films taken from his gun camera, on his P-51 fighter plane, during combat. A small portion of these films have been uploaded online for your preview. Also included are all his military pins, wings and patches (5 Aircraft Pilot Wing Pins - one is a tie clip and one is engraved on reverse "Claris" "3 Nov. 43" "Glenn" and all are sterling, compass marked Germany, 3 lighters, ID bracelets, Army Air Force patches. ) along with a shadow box containing his picture and metals. There are yearbooks from Moore Field and Goodfellow Field, a photo album, "The HUNters" - The 487th Fighter Squadron (including WWII USAAF 487TH FIGHTER SQUADRON 352ND FIGHTER GRP 8TH AF MEYER'S MAULERS PATCH), miscellaneous newspaper clippings, black and white photos, letter to mom and dad, Pilot's Processing Portfolio, war documents, foreign currency and coins, aviator glasses, wallet, ID Tags, Pilot Logs and more. Butt stock has small cracks where stock meets action on both sides. Small crack at top of stock where tang meets wood. These are easy to fix by competent gunsmiths. Shows they were ordered with pearl grips and a barrel length of 6". Both revolvers have a blue finish. The first revolver has a good bore with a little roughness. Overall shape is at 70% with light scratches and dings. Grips are pearl and in excellent shape. The 2nd revolver has an excellent bore. Grips are pearl and are in excellent shape. Overall shape on this 5-shot is at 90% with little use. Metal surfaces on both New Departure Squeezers have some light patina. These are double action only. Somewhat rare in this barrel length. Three Brass Canons. The first has a length of 10-3/8" with a wood carriage. Bore diameter is 1/2" and comes with chocks for wheels and a wedge to elevate barrel. The second has a barrel length of 6-3/4" with a 3/8" bore. The carriage is made of wood and comes with wedge for elevation. The third cannon has a barrel length of 5-1/4" and a 5/16" bore. Carriage is cast iron. All three cannons are in fine shape and have some age.

This is a double or single action top break. Condition is average with medium to heavy patina in place. All three revolvers operate.

New in box marked The Sportsman Year, The Hunting and Fishing Knife Collection. Fifth is a Crosman BB Pistol, "The Marksman". Sixth is a unidentified bayonet.
