**Auction Highlight** Morgan & Peace $1 Mixed Roll Steel Strong Shotgun Wrapper w/Covered Ends (fc) Lot #53 (Sale Order 42 of 454) ***Auction Highlight*** Morgan & Peace $1 Mixed Roll Steel Strong Shotgun Wrapper w/Covered Ends. Great Original Roll of Morgan & Peace Dollars. The Two ends are covered. Any dates & any condition possible inside. Note you will receive a roll completely similar to the photo. We have a large hoard of these rolls & they all look exactly alike. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Some lucky bidders have gotten key dates & PL's. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). We received this incredible consignment from a private collector. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins.

1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc Lot #65 (Sale Order 49 of 454) 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc. The 27-p is the big sleeper of numismatics in my opinion. It has the 2nd lowest mintage in the whole Peace dollar series. Lower than the 34-s, the 21-p, yet it does not command its proper value. Good coin to own multiple of and save, in my opinion, but if you've been coming to our auctions for a while you will have seen that this has always been my opinion.

1966 Special Mint Set SMS Lot #102 (Sale Order 76 of 454) 1966 Special Mint Set SMS. In 1964, just when the mint was removing 90% silver coins from circulation, and the us was having a coin shortage, the Mint announced that beginning in 1965, no Proof Sets, or Mint Sets would be produced, Instead they would be making a Special Mint Set. Special Mint Set coins were not proofs, and were not uncirculated, Mint State pieces. Dies for the coins were over polished, while the planchet themselves were not polished. The resulting SMS coins have a brilliant, proof like appearance, much nicer than the run-of-the-mill circulation coins. In 1965 these sets were released in the Traditional Mint Cellophane and White Envelope and in 1966 and 1967 they were packaged in hard, pale blue plastic holders. Note, the set contains a 40% Half Dollar.

***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1879 & 'cc', Better than average circ (fc) Lot #119 (Sale Order 89 of 454) ***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1879 & 'cc', Better than average circ. Great Original Roll of Morgan Dollars. The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1879 that's near unc, and the other end has a 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Your choice to open the shotgun roll or leave it as is, but if you do open the Roll, please let us know what you find. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away lot.

**Star Note 1957A $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades xf+ Lot #188 (Sale Order 138 of 454) **Star Note 1957A $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades xf+. When notes are discovered that have been printed incorrectly (such as having the serial numbers upside down, etc.) the misprinted "error notes" are replaced with star notes because no two bills within a certain series can be produced with the same serial number. They are used to maintain a correct count of notes in a serial number run. By their nature, star notes are more scarce than notes with standard serial numbers and as such are widely collected by numismatists. Some of the highest prices paid for modern (post-1928) U.S. banknotes have been for star notes. The note itself is a Silver Certificate. They were redeemable in Silver. One of their most distinctive qualities is the blue Treasury seal and serial numbers. These notes include an additional legend printed on the face that is not present on any other Federal Reserve notes. The legend states that Silver had been deposited in the Treasury and was payable on demand to the note’s bearer.

**Star Note 1957B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf, very fine Lot #260 (Sale Order 191 of 454) **Star Note 1957B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf, very fine.

1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades vf++ Lot #283 (Sale Order 205 of 454) 1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades vf++. 1935a $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades. It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor. Everybody in Hawaii was sitting on pins and needles. Were the Japanese preparing a massive invasion of the islands? If they did invade, they could use the millions of dollars in currency on the islands to buy war material. To thwart this, these $1 Federal Reserve Notes were sent to the islands. Each has a large HAWAII printed on the reverse. If the Japanese did invade, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "Hawaii" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.

The 1892-o is a semi key date which is generally found with a horribly weal strike resulting in virtually no hair above the ear and a completely rounded breast to the eagle with no feathers. This example has a strong strike, semi proof like fields and a wonderful Eagle breast with full detail in the feathers. A True numismatic Rarity. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest reccomendation

***Auction Highlight*** 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Graded Choice Unc by USCG (fc) Lot #336 (Sale Order 239 of 454) ***Auction Highlight*** 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Graded Choice Unc by USCG. The 27-p is the big sleeper of numismatics in my opinion. It has the 2nd lowest mintage in the whole Peace dollar series. Lower than the 34-s, the 21-p, yet it does not command its proper value. Good coin to own multiple of and save, in my opinion, but if you've been coming to our auctions for a while you will have seen that this has always been my opinion. semi key date

***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1879 & 'cc', Better than average circ (fc) Lot #363 (Sale Order 254 of 454) ***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1879 & 'cc', Better than average circ. Great Original Roll of Morgan Dollars.

1871 Indian Cent 1c Grades xf+ (fc) Lot #389 (Sale Order 271 of 454) 1871 Indian Cent 1c Grades xf+. Quoting PCGS :"The 1871 Indian Cent is one of the lowest mintage issues of the series. In fact, from 1859 - 1876 it is the lowest mintage coin in the Indian Cent series. What's even worse is that during the early 1870's the Mint was melting a lot of previously issued cents, including many 1871 cents. Making the coin become scarcer. A semi key date to the series with possibly about 5,000 examples in existence in all grades combined."

***Auction Highlight*** 1928 $10 Gold Certificate $10 Grades xf (fc) Lot #442 (Sale Order 306 of 454) ***Auction Highlight*** 1928 $10 Gold Certificate $10 Grades xf. Alexander Hamilton is the central subject of this scarce $10 gold note, issued because of a change in the size of United States currency beginning with all series dated 1928. This change in the size of AmericaÕs currency came about from a study that had determined that printing smaller currency would save the government a hefty amount of money in production cost. Because of the nature of gold certificates Ð each one accompanied the deposit of gold coins Ð they are somewhat scarce to begin with, as gold is far more scarce than silver. Add to that the decision to drop the gold standard by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933, thus making owning gold coin (or notes promising gold coin) illegal, and you end up with a series of notes that was printed, then recalled less than six years after their initial issue. Many of the notes were destroyed when turned in, and few of them survived. Fortunately for collectors, the restriction for owning gold certificates as collectibles was repealed by Treasury Secretary C. Douglas Dillon in 1964, but the damage had been done to the stockpiles of said notes. Not many remain of the millions that had originally been issued prior to the depression.

**Star Note 1957A $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades xf+ Lot #524 (Sale Order 356 of 454) **Star Note 1957A $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades xf+.

This note features the familiar portrait of Abraham Lincoln that was used on all of our $5 bills through 1999, and the back shows the Lincoln Memorial. The Blue Seal is large and at right; a large blue "5" dominates the left side of the note.

In 1999, additional pieces were minted to meet the demand of vending machines at post offices and as subway tokens. 1928B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Sigs Woods/Mills Grades f, fine Lot #596 (Sale Order 397 of 454) 1928B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Sigs Woods/Mills Grades f, fine. 1928 $1 silver certificates do come in several different blocks. The most common block is the AA block, the IA, JA, KA, and LA blocks also exist, and these are scarcer. The lowest serial number notes were presented to important officials in Washington DC. These were given out in sheets of 12. There are still some uncut sheets that exist. All 1928 one dollar silver certificate notes feature a portrait of George Washington at center and a blue seal on the left hand side of the note. All 1928 $1 silver certificates are known as “funnybacks.” They get this name from their distinctive back design.

**Star Note 1957A $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf++ Lot #644 (Sale Order 422 of 454) **Star Note 1957A $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf++.

1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc Lot #684 (Sale Order 437 of 454) 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc.

1966 Special Mint Set SMS Lot #690 (Sale Order 440 of 454) 1966 Special Mint Set SMS.
