Brewerton Corner Notched Point

Recovered from Northern Alabama, the Brewerton is a Mid to Late Archaic point that is 4,000 to 6,000 years old. This point would grade a 7.5 to 8 grade and appears to have been made from Coshocton Flint. This one is 1 13/16 inches long and 1 4/16 inches wide.

Dickson Spearpoint

This was a very large Dickson used as a Spearpoint. The tip was fractured when discovered and has been expertly restored. It should grade around an 8 after the repair. The Spearpoint was discovered in Union County, Ohio. It measures 4 8/16 in long and the width is 2 4/16 in. The Dickson was neatly made using Mercer Chert and is estimated to be 1,500 to 2,500 years old.

Northern Side Notch Point

This is the only other Point in the Auction that had some restoration done. When found about 2/16 in of the tip was missing and the past owner had it professionally restored. The Black Obsidian Side Notch was recovered in Oregon. It?s an Ex-Jim Bennett Collection and from there it went to the D.W. Brooks Collection. Now its here ready for the next lucky owner. I say lucky because it is a beautiful well-made Point. It measures 3 in long and is 1 4/16 in wide. The winning bidder will be well pleased with this Gem of an Artifact from the Northwest. The Point was made and used in the early Archaic Period.

This is a beautiful golden colored Newnan that was made from Quartzite. It was found in Alachua County, Florida. It measures 2 7/16 in long and is 1 8/16 in inches wide. It grades an 8.5 and the Newnan is a Mid-Archaic Period type that is 3,000 to 7,000 years old. They are very popular to collectors and this one is unusual that it was made from Quartzite.

This Point was recovered in Northeastern Colorado. Its shaped much like the Pelican Lake type but many people where this was found just call it a Corner Notch so we will leave it at that. This Castroville Point found in Coryell County, Texas is very unusual and somewhat rare in that its made from beautiful black shinny Obsidian like Points from the Northwest portion of the country. Most of Texas Points are made from Edwards Plateau Chert. This is 2 1/16 in long and 1 9/16 in wide. Its in excellent condition.

Authentic East African Masai Lion Spear

This Spear is about 75 to 80 years old from Tanzania, East Africa. The Masai, from Kenya and Tanzania, had a tradition for over 300 years that a young man must kill a Lion before he could marry and raise a family; and to be considered a mature man. These Lion hunts with spears were mostly stopped in the 1970s but occasionally you may hear a story here or there. This Spear measures 6 foot and 2 1/2 inches long. It really is a great piece of African History.

This Northern Stemmed Spear Point was recovered from Broome County, New Jersey. It was made from Onodaga Chert in the Late Archaic Period about 4500 years ago. It measures 3 5/16 inches long and 1 5/16 inches wide.

The Bolen along with the Dovetail and Lost Lake types is one of the most highly collectible type of Arrowheads. This one was recovered in Albany County, Georgia and should grade around an 8.5. The Bolen Beveled is from the Early Archaic Period. This one was very well made and measures 2 2/16 in long and 1 3/16 in wide. The material is Coastal Plains Chert.

It is semi-translucent.

Roy Motley classified this Franklin County, Missouri Point a Smith, but it looks like a Calf Creek to the seller so the buyer will have to be the judge on this one. Calf Creeks and Smith Points are common in the area where it was found. It was made from Burlington Chert and measures 1 12/16 in long and is 1 9/16 in wide. The Point was made during the mid-Archaic Period and is in excellent condition.

These animals are very expensive to hunt and it is not easy to get into the areas where they live. These Buffalo live in hot and thick Forest regions and finding a good Bull is sometimes impossible. You must have a little luck as well as a good guide. This is a nice trophy Bull.

The Mountain Nyala is not so rare, but finding a set of Horns for sell is; because you must go to Ethiopia and spend $ 30,000.00 to $ 50,000.00 on a two or three week Safari to hunt this animal and shots can be in excess of 300 yards or more, and many hunters are not lucky and go home without one. When success is reached the Hunters almost always do a shoulder mount or full body mount. Finding just the Horns is like winning the Lottery.

This is a rare chance for a rarely seen Moss Agate Folsom Point.

Anyway, 10,000 years old is old enough. The fluted one measures 1 ... inches long and was recovered from Arkansas and the black one was made from Pitken Chert and was recovered in Kentucky. It also measures 1 ... inches long.

This is a mature male Tommy. His horns measure 14 2/8 x 14 4/8 inches long and that is very respectable for this species. The mount is an older one that has been cleaned and touched up. The hair is good and the mount is structurally sound and in good condition with decent taxidermy quality.

This Red Stag was harvested here in the U.S. on an Exotic Game Ranches. The mount is clean with average taxidermy quality. It is in very good overall condition.

The Southeastern Ibex is just one of four sub-species from Spain. Ibex are a wild mountainous Goat type of animal and in Spain they have the Gredos, Beceite, Rhonda, and the Southeastern. All four are named for the Mountain Ranges that they live on. This mount is clean and in excellent condition with superior quality taxidermy. This is a mature male with better than average size horns.

Folsom Point

This is a very large Folsom Point that was recovered in Arkansas. It was made from Jasper 10,000 to 11,000 years ago during the Paleo Period. It measures 2 3/16 in long and 1 3/16 in wide. It should grade around a 9 and will make a great investment Point.

Massive Shed Whitetail Deer Antlers

Lot #59A (Sale Order 77 of 487)

The circumference at the smallest place between the burrs and the brow tine on these antlers is 8 1/8 x 7 6/8 which is kinda like a baseball bat. The right antler weighs 3 lbs. and 10 oz. It has 8 points and gross scores 80 1/8. The left antler weighs 3 lbs. and 4 oz. It has 12 points and gross scores 97 6/8. With a carefully estimated inside spread this Rack would score 197 5/8 gross on the Buck head. The antlers have good natural color and are in excellent condition. This set of Sheds was from High Fence Farm Buck. I think the preserve was in Ohio but we are not absolutely sure about that. Total weight on these antlers is 6 lbs. and 14 oz.

Beautiful Common Jackfish mount

The Goshen is a Northern Plains Paleo Point similar to the Plainview Point found in Texas, these Points are estimated to be 9,500 to 11,250 years old and are very hard to come by. This one is a gorgeous Artifact made of Jasper. It should grade around a 9 and it measures 2 in long and is 7/8 in wide which is normal size. This rare point was found in Prowers County, Colorado.

This is a medium size Desert Sheep old Mexico. He has a few scars on the bridge of his nose from fighting and sparring with other Rams. This is a really beautiful full mount Black Coyote. He has a very pretty white chest blaze. The mount is clean, smoke free, and in very good condition. The taxidermy is a little better than average. This Coyote being black is what scientist call the Melanistic phase which is the opposite of a Albino phase. Either way, it is a rare occurrence.

The Smith Point is often mistaken for the Lost Lake or Calf Creek points. They are all found in Missouri where this one was recovered in St. Louis County. This Archaic Point was made from Burlington Chert and measures 4 1/4 in long and is 1 7/8 in wide. It will make a fantastic addition to any Arrowhead collection. By the way, I am pretty sure this one was used as a Spear Point and then later maybe a Knife but an Arrowhead.

232 Gross Heavy Matching Pair of Whitetail Deer Sheds

This matching and thick pair of Whitetail Deer Sheds gross scores 232. They have a really great natural color and have unique main beams with tips that curl downwards like drop tines. Towards the ends of this long curly main beams the C-4 measurements are 6 5/8 x 7 inches around! Also check out the forked brow tines and all of the nice beading down towards the burrs. The total weight of this set is 6 lbs. and 8oz. The right antler weighs 3 lbs. and 4 oz. The left weighs 3 lbs. and 8 oz. Right 107 and left 103 with a carefully estimated inside spread of 22 inches this set on the Deer was probably better than 232. We do not know where these Sheds are from but they probably came from High Fence Deer Preserve or Farm.

This is an average size Grizzly Bear mounted in a standing pose with a curios look on the Bears face. The Bear has a fantastic coat of golden brown has with long sharp claws. He stands from the floor to the top of his head 6 foot even. The Bear is leaning forward with knees bent and back slumping. The Bears nose is pointed down so this why a Bear that squared in the field over 7 feet stands in this position at only 6 feet. From the bottom of his feet to his ear tip is 5 foot 7-1/2 inches. The base is 21-1/2 inches and 38 inches across. The mount is in excellent condition with well above average taxidermy quality.

The right antler of this giant Buck has 19 points and weighs 4 lbs. & 7 oz. The left antler has 15 points and weighs 3 lbs. & 9oz. The pair is a total of 8 lbs. even. The Buck had a 5 x 5 main Frame with 24 Non-typical points. Right side grossed 143 2/8 and the left side 120 2/8 inches. With a carefully estimated 24 inches inside spread the score comes up 287 4/8 gross. The rack has good natural color and no rat chews. This pair of Sheds were brought to a big antler sell from a hunting Preserve up North. The strange thing about this pair is the Buck must have died from natural causes shortly after shedding his left antler because the right antler has a piece of his skull still attached to it. Of course this small piece of skull can be sawed off and the antlers mounted to a artificial skull plate. Then a nice big Buck cape can be found and this rack mounted with it to make a fantastic huge trophy shoulder mount.

This big Piebald Buck was estimated to be 5 ... to 6 ... years old and was harvested in Ohio. A Piebald is a cross between an Albino and a regular colored Whitetail Deer. Of course Albinos and Piebalds do not live very long unfortunately because the white hair is like a target painted on them but this particular Buck was the exception. As you can see he was in his prime with a huge body and gorgeous markings. The rack is a 6 x 6 Typical in the 150s range. A good Buck in most Hunters eyes. The taxidermy is very good and the Buck has a real natural pose and a lifelike appearance. The mount as well as the habitat base are also in excellent condition. Here is a good opportunity for a rare type of Deer.

Record Class Interior Grizzly Bear full body mount

This type of Bear used his long claws to dig for roots and scratch open dry rotten trees for grubs. He dug the ground for Ground Squirrels and hunted hard for what he could catch. The larger Coastal Brown Bears are common to this type lazy beach combers and fish eaters. The interior Grizzly, though a little smaller is a hard worker. This one came of Alaska and has a Top Notch coat of hair and beautiful long claws. He squared just a hair over 8-1/2 feet and he is a Boone and Crockett Record. The taxidermy is excellent and the mount is clean, smoke free, and in mint condition. This is about as good a Grizzly Bear as will ever find. The mount is 7 foot 6 inches high from the ground to the top of his head. The loss of height is due to flat feet , bend of the knees, curvature of the back, and nose bent down to ground level. Example; A 10 foot Polar Bear will stand on its hind legs 8 to 8 1/2 feet at ground level. This mount will look fantastic in any home, office, lake house, lodge homes, cabin, clubhouse, etc.

Hopewell Point

This Artifact along with several others in this collection has Midwest Artifacts COA. One appraiser saw this as a Dovetail and the other as a Hopewell. I am leaning towards a Hopewell. I?ve never seen a Dovetail this wide but it is from the right location for both types so it could possibly be a hybrid. This big Spear Point was made from Heat-treated Burlington Chert. The brown, white, red, and maroon pinkish colors are tremendously beautiful. The Point was recovered from St. Louis County, Missouri. It is 6 5/8 inches long and 2 7/8 inches wide. The G-10+ rating is the first I?ve ever seen on a Hopewell. This Point is most likely a mid-Archaic one. It is definitely one of a kind.

This is a above average size trophy. The Chobe Bushbuck is like the Limpopo Bushbuck as in they are named after the Rivers they live by. The Chobe lives North of the South African Limpopo Bushbuck in Zimbabwe and is a lighter chestnut brown color. Hunting Bushbucks can be a real challenge. The move slowly in and out nearby and have eyes, ears, and nose, like a Whitetail Deer. They also Bark like a small dog when danger is coming to warn other Bushbucks and wildlife in their area. Rare Cascade Knife

This large Knife Blade was made from beautiful translucent Obsidian and was recovered from Lake County, Oregon. It measures 5 3/16 inches long and is 1 8/16 inches wide. The COA says that there was some minor restoration towards the blades edge but, the repair material has been removed and the Blade is in the natural state it was in when found. The nick on the side about an inch from the tip was really common because Obsidian is breakable like glass. As a matter of fact large Blades like this one were usually found in pieces or at least broke in half so what we have here is really good one. Bennett did not grade it but the Authenticators that do would give it an 8.5 or 9. This Knife is a great piece of Western American history and also a fantastic investment Artifact.

This is a handsome Black Hawaiian Ram with a pretty dark cape and a nice set of full curl horns. This is a superior quality mount of a Guenther Dik Dik from Omo River Valley in Ethiopia. This is a large Record Class male. This mount is in mint condition with a very lifelike look. This Dik Dik is tied for No. 9 in the Safari Club Record Book! The Guenther Dik Dik has a longer bulbus type nose that is a little larger than the rest of the Dik Dik family. These animals depend on their great eyesight and quickness with their long pencil like legs to get them into the thickest parts of the African Bush away from Predators.

Large Johnson Point

This Johnson Point was recovered from Saline County, Arkansas. It measures 3 4/16 inches long and is 1 11/16 inches wide. The edges are quite sharp and there is a small flute on one side of the stem. The edges are lightly serrated and the material appears to be Jasper but we are not sure on this. This Point would easily grade a 9 or maybe 9.5. This Point is well made and large for its type.

Dovetail Point

This Dovetail seems to be part Gray Hornstone and part Burlington Chert. Its average size, measuring 2 8/16 inches long and 1 6/16 inches wide. This Dovetail was recovered from Gallatin County, Kentucky and would grade an 8 or 8.5. This one is easy to tell its old so that is why it was not sent to an Authenticator. It has a very smooth patina and is in excellent condition for an Early Archaic Point.

African Kafue Flats Lechwe shoulder mount

The Kafue Lechwe is a long hoofed Antelope that lives in the swamplands of Zambia. These are gorgeous looking animals with the longest horns of the Lechwe family. This animals live in large herds and large Bulls are sometimes found in the middle of several dozen and can be difficult to get a safe shot at. This mount will make a beautiful decoration.

Each of these plates are crafted in fine porcelain and decorated with 23kt gold. They were designed by Gary and Trevor Swanson and produced by the Danbury Mint in the Late 1970s and early 80s. This Grants Gazelle measures a score of 70 7/8. His horns are 27 6/8 x 27 5/8 inches long. The bases are 7 6/8 x 7 6/8 inches around. This Grants was harvested August 7, 1964 near Lake Natron in Masailand, Northern Tanzania. Since we do not know who the hunter was the trophy would be listed in the picked-up section of the Records. The mount is in great overall condition for its age with no shedding. The taxidermy is average.

The outside spread on this Buck was estimated 35 inches wide and the inside 23 ... inches. The rack was scored four times by four different measurers from 390 to 400. We got 396. The next guy will score something a little different. We have a big Canadian cape if you want it mounted.

At last time we checked; 6 years ago their was only two herds of these magnificent Antelopes living along the Banks of the Tana River in Kenya. Their was a total of a little more than 600. Hopefully this number has grown the past 6 years. We have kept this trophy dear to our hearts as we know Kenya is closed to hunting and the Hirola will probably never be hunted again. This trophy is the largest in the Safari Club International of Big Game. We do not know if this particular Bull fell to a hunter or not. It has been entered in the Books as a pick up. The date on the mount was 7/01/1969 which would have been the right time of year for a Safari in the part of Africa. This trophy should in a Museum and that is exactly where it will go if it does not sell. The taxidermist did a fantastic job as this mount looks alive and also as if it was mounted just yesterday. Recovered from Bourbon County, Kentucky this Early to Mid-Archaic Heavy Duty Point is 5,000 to 7,000 years old. It was made from good quality Gray Hornstone and has beautiful flaking patterns. This one is rare because it has the base fluted on both sides and these Points are usually not fluted on any side. It measures 2 15/16 inches long and is 1 4/16 inches wide. This Point will grade a 9 or better.

This is a Buck from a Deer farming Hunting Preserve. He really is a Monster with the right antler sporting 22 points and the left antler 20. He has a 37 inch outside spread. The antlers are cut-offs mounted on Shed burrs and then attached to a strong and durable reproduction skull plate. The rack is holding solid and the mount has very nice taxidermy and this mount is in excellent condition. We just recently acquired this Buck we call ?The Tree? and we did not have time score him but we are taking our best guess around 312 gross. This Giant Buck will really turn some heads wherever you hang him.

The taxidermy is very good and the mount is clean and smoke free. The back of the neck has a half dollar size patch but this does not show and the mount displayed would not show this spot anyway. This mount will make a fine decoration anywhere you place him.

This Spear is about 75 to 80 years old from Tanzania, East Africa. The Masai from Kenya and Tanzania, has a tradition for over 300 years that a young man must kill a Lion in fair combat before he could marry and raise a family and be deemed a full grown man. These type of Lion hunts with Spears were mostly stopped in the late 1960s and early 1970s but occasionally you might here of a story here and there after that time. This Spear measures 6 feet 6 inches long and was probably used by a 7 foot + Masai Warrior.

This is a super high Record Trophy Texas Dall Sheep Ram full shoulder mount. We think these Black & White Rams are probably Top 5. This one was also done by Woodbury Taxidermy and has fantastic A-1 taxidermy quality. The mount is like new and in mint condition. He has a natural and lifelike appearance. His horns measure 38 4/8 x 37 4/8 inches long around the curls. The bases are huge measuring 10 5/8 x 10 3/8 inches around each horn.

This is a solid Trophy European Mouflon Ram from Spain. The mount is clean and in outstanding condition. The taxidermy is excellent and this is about as good as they come. This Ram has a beautiful full winter Beard. His horns measure 27 ...? x 28 1/8? inches long around the curls. His bases around the horns are both 10 inches around. This majestic old Ram was in a few battles and was probably 9 to 10 years old when was harvested.

This is an excellent quality full shoulder mount of a Record Class Bull Nyala from Mozambique. The mount is in excellent condition and this Bull has 30 2/8 x 30 inches long horns with beautiful ivory tips. The bases are 9 6/8 x 9 4/8 inches around. The Southern Nyala is one of the most beautiful and elegant animals in the world.

The Shiras Moose is a smaller antlered and smaller bodied Moose than the Canadian or Alaskan Yukon Moose. The outside spread is 35 inches on this set which is about average.

This is a gorgeous Newnan Knife or Spear Point; recovered in cache of four from Marion County Florida during the early 1990s. It was made from a beautiful high quality Coastal Plains Chert and has awesome serrations and is slightly translucent with a smooth patina. This Newnan is nicely thin and measures 5 8/16 inches long and is 1 inch wide. This is as good of a Point as they come and this is an excellent investment Artifact.

Big 170+ Class Texas Panhandle Whitetail Deer shoulder mount

This is an excellent full shoulder mount of a really big Whitetail Buck from the Texas Panhandle. This Buck has a 23-1/2 inches outside spread and a 19-1/4 inches inside spread. The rack is a 9 x 5 with long and thick points. The taxidermy quality is excellent and this mount is clean, smoke free and in excellent overall condition with a good hanger. The Buck has a natural alert pose with a majestic look.

This 5 inches long Spear Point is double fluted nicely. 80% on one side and 65% on the other. This Cumberland was recovered from Sullivan County, Tennessee several years back. It was made from Gray Hornstone in the Paleo Period some 9,000 to 11,000 years ago. This one is 1 3/8 inches wide and was graded a 9.5 and is easily Museum Quality.
