Sir William Gell, Published by Jennings and Chaplin, London (1832) The interior pages are in good condition, the exterior was re-bound solidly - but poorly in plain cloth. 88 engraved plates, 30 vignettes in text. Sir William Gell was a classical English archaeologist and illustrator collaborating with John P. Gandy, English architect, on this publication. Pompeiana is considered an important work helping to open the results of the excavations to English readers. This 1832 edition, written by Willam Gell alone, incorporates the results of the latest excavations.
