Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver Cal. 44 Lot #1194 (Sale Order 1 of 443) SERIAL NUMBER: 123940 DESIGN: Single action percussion 6-shot revolver. 8" barrel. Top of the barrel is stamped "Address Col Saml Colt New-York US." "Colts Patent" is stamped on the left side of the frame below the cylinder. The letter "H" is stamped behind the hammer and trigger guard. Mechanics are good. Operational. Year of Manufacture: 1863. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Nickel finish. Wood grips. FEATURES: "C.F. Smith" has been stamped into the left wood grip. CONDITION: Poor/Fair. Revolver has been heavily buffed and refinished. The buffing removed much of the original markings and all of the engraved naval battle scene on the cylinder. Left wood grip has a corner chipped. Allen & Thurber Pepperbox Pistol Cal. 32 Lot #1195 (Sale Order 2 of 443) SERIAL NUMBER: 343 DESIGN: Double action 6-shot percussion pepperbox pistol. 3-1/4" round barrels. Marked ''Allen Thurber & Co. Worcester/Patented 1837 Cast-Steel''. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Blued steel. Walnut grips. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The pepperbox pistol holds a unique position in American firearms history. It bridged the gap between the single-shot pistol and the revolver with stationary barrel. Pepperbox guns were handy, fairly reliable, and supplied a series of quick shots. They proved popular and were carried West in great numbers during the gold rush era. Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver Lot #1203 (Sale Order 10 of 443) SERIAL NUMBER: 80294 DESIGN: This antique Colt has a 5 shot engraved cylinder and is in .31 caliber. The cylinder scene is clearly visible. This example has a 6” barrel and a loading lever. Production of this popular model began in 1850 and continued until 1873. The serial number of this piece establishes that is an antebellum example. The top of the barrel is marked “Address Saml Colt, New York City” in two lines. Jacob Rupertus 8-shot Pepperbox, .22, Not Working Lot #1205 (Sale Order 12 of 443) SERIAL NUMBER: NSN DESIGN: This pistol was made by Jacob Rupertus in Philadelphia, circa 1860’s. It is an 8 shot .22 caliber piece with 8 barrels in a pepperbox, revolving barrel design. The pistol appears to have been refinished in nickel. Note: this piece is not in firing condition. The rotating barrels do not stay in battery and are loose to the frame. The mainspring appears to be gone. Also, one of the 8 barrels has been blown out rendering it improbable that this piece will again be a shooter. A parts gun or shadow box relic. Deutsche Werke Ortgies 32 Auto/7.65 mm Lot #1218 (Sale Order 25 of 443) SERIAL NUMBER: 117725 DESIGN: Semi-automatic pistol with one factory marked magazine. 3-1/4" barrel. Marked "Germany" (pre-WWII export). Exported to the United States (1920s-1930s). Stamped Ortgies' Patent on slide (right side). ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Designed in Belgium, this pistol was first made in 1920 by Heinrich Ortgies & Co. of Erfurt, Germany. The firm sold all tooling and parts to Deutsche Werke AG, who continued to make the pistols until the mid 1940s. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Blued steel. CONDITION: Good. FN Browning Hi-Power MKI Inglis Cal. 9mm Lot #1221 (Sale Order 28 of 443) SERIAL NUMBER: 5CH4685 (Chinese Contract) DESIGN: Semi-automatic pistol with one magazine. 4-1/2" barrel. 500m adjustable rear sight. Stamped "Browning - F.N. 9mm H.P. Inglis Canada" on left side of frame. Canadian military proof mark on frame above trigger (right side). This pistol was popular with covert operations and commando groups such as the U.S. Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and the British SAS (Special Air Service) Regiment. Year of Manufacture: 1945. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Made in Canada for the Chinese army. The Chinese ordered these with 500 meter rear adjustable sights and a slot for a stock for better accuracy. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The gun was made in Spain for Germany during World War II, and about 60,000 pistols were made. The first 10,500 were delivered before the end of the war. Smith & Wesson First Model .22 Target Pistol Lot #1387 (Sale Order 194 of 443) SERIAL NUMBER: 23020 DESIGN: This First Model S&W match pistol, also known as the Single Shot Model of 1891 is chambered for the .22 long rifle cartridge and has a 10” barrel with a rear sight adjustable for windage. An unusual and scarce S&W, it has the profile of a revolver and is a topbreak action. Popular in its day, some were used by the US Olympic Team. Solid and tight with bright bore. DWM 1920 Luger Rig w/ Matching Magazine Lot #1388 (Sale Order 195 of 443) SERIAL NUMBER: 6798 DESIGN: This Luger was manufactured by DWM and is dated 1920. It has Crown N proofs and all numbers match. Standard 4” barrel with bright bore. There are two magazines with the unit and one matches the gun’s serial number. The other is a wooden base mag. that does not match. Straw still remains on the safety lever, takedown latch and trigger. This piece has the magazine safety apparatus. Grip panels are as nice as the rest of the pistol. The rig comes with a hardshell holster made by Robert Larsen, Berlin and carries the date of 1934. The vet, Zack Pannell of Texas, carved his name on the holster flap as well as on the inside of the flap. There is a marked, nonmatching takedown tool with the rig.
