1947 CROSLEY PICKUP 1947 CROSLEY PICKUP

1947 CROSLEY PICKUP

Lot #141 (Sale Order 32 of 178)

This pickup is one of 3182 Crosley pickups built in 1947 and was manufactured in Marion IN. This particular truck spent 40 years stored in a chicken coop on a farm in Zillah WA. It was then purchased by a gentleman from Yakima WA who drove it back and forth to work for many years. Its condition when its current owner found it warranted complete restoration. The engine is a late-model 61ci model which is coupled to a 3-speed manual transmission. This truck model sold for $1007 new and was advertised to make 50 miles per gallon and at the cost of 15 cents per gallon it was ahead of its time. After World War II when gas rationing was discontinued and the Big Three carmakers began producing larger cars consumer interest in Crosleys compact cars declined. The last Crosley car rolled off of the assembly line on July 3 1952. This truck has undergone a complete professional frame-off restoration.

Chevrolet introduced a more utilitarian style of vehicle the following year under the model designation Corvair 95 for its 95? wheelbase. There were essentially two different bodies available in the 95 series: the van and the truck. A Corvair truck could be ordered as a Loadside or Rampside. The Loadside was essentially a pickup truck with a standard tailgate. The Rampside had a side ramp to be used for loading and unloading cargo. These were used by the Bell Telephone Company because loading and unloading of cable drums was eased by the side ramp. The production numbers for a Corvair 95 model was from 1961-65. In 1962 only 4102 Corvair 95 Rampside trucks were built. This truck is registered in the Corvanatics Corvair 95 Registry and is one of only 101 registered. All of the registry paperwork is included. It was completely restored and is in show-quality condition. As the Trim Tag indicates this truck was born Crystal Turquoise but during the restoration it was painted the more desirable factory color combination of Woodlawn Green and Cameo White. The paint is beautiful and everything on the exterior has been replaced or restored including all the glass. It?s equipped with the custom chrome package which includes the windshield trim bumpers and hubcaps. The hubcaps are correct and have been rechromed. The truck sits on matching 14? wheels with BFGoodrich Silvertown radial tires. The factory-correct Gray and Fawn interior complements the exterior colors perfectly. Everything in the interior has been replaced or restored. It?s equipped with a rare dash-mounted clock. Everything in the interior is in working order. The rear bed was finished nicely in gray. Both the side ramp and tailgate work great. The 145ci air-cooled Turbo Air horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder engine is located in the rear of the vehicle under a slightly raised cargo floor. The engine compartment is nicely detailed and runs amazing. The engine is coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts very smoothly. This truck drives as great as it looks and draws a ton of attention. An owner?s manual service manuals extra correct rechromed hubcap and some miscellaneous parts are included. This vehicle has recently been serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that is included.

1961 FORD F-100 PICKUP 1961 FORD F-100 PICKUP

1961 FORD F-100 PICKUP

Lot #213 (Sale Order 128 of 178)

In 1960 Ford offered their F-series pickup as a unibody construction a first for any pickup. The advantage for Ford was a simpler assembly process allowing for lower cost of production. The bed and cab were no longer separate pieces as the bedsides were spot-welded directly to the door sills making the cab and bed one solid piece. As innovative as it was the public preferred the traditional separate cab and bed on the frame and Ford ended production in 1962. This Ford F-100 pickup from 1961 was treated to a no-expense-spared nut-and-bolt restoration to return it to its original factory specifications. Starting with a rust-free Southwest truck the body was repainted in the factory two-tone combination of Academy Blue and Corinthian White. All chrome was replated the trim was polished and a set of Firestone whitewall tires were installed. It?s powered by a 292ci V8 engine backed by a 3-on-the-tree manual transmission with overdrive. The engine compartment is detailed and period-correct down to the hose clamps and battery. The underside has been completely cleaned and detailed as well. Inside the soft surfaces were reupholstered with a factory-correct padded dash armrest and bench seat. It also is equipped with factory temperature controls cigarette lighter AM radio and a white steering wheel with a chrome horn ring.
