PAUL AICHELE ART NOUVEAU NYMPH BRONZE SCULPTURE Lot #1 (Sale Order 1 of 250) (German 1859-1910) Outstanding draped female nude bronze sculpture depicting a young partially nude nymph seated upon a rock resting on red octagon marble base with exquisite black brown patina Signed 'P Aichele' lower back on base SIZE: 14 1/2"H (without base) 16 1/2"H overall. CONDITION: Excellent overall small chip to underside of marble base BIO: A well established German sculptor, he had his first exhibition in Berlin in 1891 and continued to exhibit until his death. His works still come up for auction & are highly desirable.

BIO: Born in Paris Louis Etienne Marie Albert-Lefeuvre was a protege of the famous French sculptors Augustin-Alexandre Dumont (1801-1884) & Jean Alexander Joseph Falguiere (1831-1900) Since 1875 his works have been widely collected & exhibited.
