Puck Cylinder Phonograph with Horn & Reproducer

The 1906 "Puck" is a scarcely seen European cylinder phonograph built mostly as a novelty. They are highly sought after today as very few survived with all the original components. The mechanism is an open works, key wound motor with a string drive. The base is a Lyre design trivet and the horn is aluminum. Motor works but is in need of maintenance. Has original 12"x6.5" aluminum horn with original reproducer. Very nice example.

Foreign made disc phonograph with the classic look and design that every collector enjoys. The phonograph is in overall very good condition. Cranks and plays. Cabinet has minor scrapes and scuffs you would expect of any machine this age. The horn has original pink and red paint with gold pinstripes. Horn has some paint loss and scratches (see photos).

Original leather elbows from early Victor machines replace the original rubber. Original crank and horn rest.

The oak cabinet has its original finish and decal is in exceptional condition. Nicely appointed with decorative molding throughout. Both finish and decal are crisp and clean. 10" turntable has its original felt. Has 21 1/4" 9 panel nickel plated horn. Horn is in good condition, with some marks here and there. All nickel plated parts are original and lightly oxidized. Has original horn elbow and rear bracket. Bracket has clean original paint and stripes. Reproducer, tone arm and crank also appear to be original. Motor winds and runs. This is an above average example of this handsome machine. See photos.

The oak cabinet has its original finish with some finish deterioration with marks and chips here and there. Two rear corner columns are missing and the front of the cabinet has a large brightly colored festive decal bearing the name "The Yankee Prince". The 10" turntable has an interesting original 3" diameter removable adapter and has replacement felt. Has an original 18 3/4" 8 panel horn with its original green paint with gold stripes, all of which have some marks and deterioration here and there. The Columbia style rear bracket, elbow and tone arm are in average original condition. Original paint and average nickel plating. Has larger unmarked Columbia style reproducer. Has original winding crank and speed control. Motor winds and runs. Needs lubrication.

Has older quality reproduction aluminum tone arm which has been fitting with original hardware including the horn cradle. Has original lower support bracket with average nickel plating. Talk-O-Phone "Clark" Front Mount Horn Phonograph

Lot #13 (Sale Order 22 of 711)

Machine has been stripped and refinished some time ago, however it still retains its original decal. The front panel bearing the decal has a crack that has been glued and repaired. The handsome cabinet is nicely appointed with decorative molding and columns, however one of the front columns has a piece missing. The inside of the cabinet has been reinforced because of the cracked front board. As a result, the original thumb screws that would normally attach the lower support arm are now too short and replacement screws have been put in their place. The two original thumb screws are present and included. The 10" turntable has replacement felt. The large 17 1/2" bell all brass horn is in average condition with several dents and marks here and there. Has original aluminum Talk-O-Phone elbow which attaches to a Talk-O-Phone marked long throat reproducer. Reproducer is missing its thumb screw. Has its original upper and lower arms, however the upper arm has evidence of being broken and welded near the reproducer. The wire horn support cradle appears to be reproduction. The three spring motor winds and runs, however is missing its winding crank. Records are NOT included.

This is possibly a Talkophone? The large oak cabinet has been refinished and has evidence of having been extensively repaired and reinforced internally at the front. The front board has a long horizontal crack. Has 17 1/2" brass and black horn with original paint, a few scratches and dents, original aluminum Talkophone style elbow, gold Victor Exhibition reproducer with homemade back flange which attaches to a reproduction aluminum tone arm and is missing wire horn cradle. The nickel plated support arm appears to be a reproduction also. The 10" turntable has original felt and winding crank. The motor winds and runs.

This untouched original survivor is nicely intact. It has its original untouched oxidized finish on the base and reflecting bowl and bed plate also have their untouched original nickel plating with some oxidization. See photos. Has its original turntable felt. This has its original, undamaged tone arm with Capitol marked reproducer. Reproducer has replacement thumb screw. Motor has been tested and runs but could use lubrication. This has 3 original, pull chain electric lights, one of which has a unique original working light bulb. The hinged 2 piece shade is completely untouched and original and quite fragile with some fraying and damage. See photos. However it appears complete, including 8 original brass bangle tassels, fringe, and brass bangle borders. Also includes 3 original needle cups and original cloth covered cord. One look at this and you'll know every piece is original. A true survivor.

Has correct original nickel plated Reginaphone tone arm and reproducer however, the tone arm has evidence of an old repair at the front of the rear elbow. Fern-O-Grand Baby Grand Piano Novelty Phonograph

This unusual cabinet is intended to cleverly disguise a hand crank internal horn phonograph as a miniature baby grand piano. It has its original brown mahogany finish which is lightly alligatored throughout with a few marks here and there. Once the lid is lifted and propped open it exposes a highly figured birds eye maple interior where the phonograph is located. The reproducer, tone arm, and needle cups have their original gold finish. The motor winds but will NOT run. The tiny expression peddles open and close sound louvers. The 4 slender legs are a bit shaky. See photos.

This unusual cabinet has its original brown mahogany finish, slightly crazed throughout. Good condition. This unusual machine has several interesting characteristics such as the 15 1/2" amplifying horn being incorporated into the cover. The horn is rigidly mounted to the top cover and nicely appointed. Another unique characteristic is the original nickel plated spiral tone arm and its complex system which enables it to speak into the amplifying horn. The original nickel plated tone arm, reproducer and cueing mechanism is unique to Keen-O-Phone and is all nicely intact. 12" turntable has its original felt. Has front pull down shelf which is above a complex record storage, selection and ejection system. This unique system is nicely intact and in working order. Has its original winding crank. The bed plate and upper frame work have their original nickel plating however this is well worn from many years of use. The rare and uncommon electric motor appears complete. It turns and moves freely however is untested. A nice example of a hard to find machine.

The upper framework is made of cast iron. The original paint and pinstripes are in average condition with some wear. The mandrel and upper gear train move and meshes properly, however they are stiff and in need of lubrication. The bed plate has original nickel plating in good condition. It has its original cast iron slotted winding crank. Motor winds and runs. Machines with the desirable cast iron and brass upper works are becoming hard to find.
