1991 DODGE D350 SQUAD 51 RE-CREATION Lot #91 (Sale Order 89 of 190) This is a Squad 51 re-creation built using a donor truck found in Arizona to replicate the one used on the hit TV show ?Emergency? which originally aired from 1972-79. It is powered by a 360ci fuel-injected V8 engine coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission. The 1991 donor truck made for a more modern platform with fuel injection air conditioning and more modern suspension but also allowed for the possibility to maintain the authentic look needed to pull the build. This rust-free truck was also fleet-maintained so is in good running condition. During the restoration the truck was glass-beaded to remove all of the original paint and primer. It was taken all the way down to bare metal and prepped. The correct 1972 grille and headlights were sourced and custom-installed. Also sourced was a rust-free correct 1972 ?birdbath? hood. All body and paint work was done by a body and paint professional. No expense was spared on the body and paint. Even the inside of the cab was completely repainted. The interior of the cargo body was fully cleaned and the inside of the doors were painted correct gray. The custom made to the specs of the original LA County Fire Dept. and the correct light bar radio spotlights and gear for the bed were all sourced with great expense and effort to verify the accuracy and the authenticity of the build.
