Gifted to General Lemnitzer in 1959 from the Republic of Korea Army.
This exceedingly rare snow leopard pelt is likely one of only few in the world that can be legally sold. Only Pennsylvania residents may bid on this lot.
Lyman Louis Lemnitzer was born in Honesdale, PA, August 29, 1899, and passed November 12, 1988.
He was a United States Army general, who served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1960 to 1962. He then served as Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO from 1963 to 1969.
As shown in the fabric plaque/label on the underside of the pelt, it was given as a gift to General Lemnitzer and presented to him by Korean Lt. General Song Yo Chan Chairman of Staff of the Republic of Korea Army
The pelt is in good condition as shown.
It is lined with darker fabric with a red scalloped edge.
Piece may be missing some claws as shown, one eye is cloudy/scratched as shown.
It is over eight feet from nose to tip of tail.

The fact that is was presented to him by Korea is what makes this so great.
Also included is is framed photo of General Lemnitzer with King Constantine of Greece in 1966, as shown on the back of the photo.
