Rare M42 Luftwaffenhelfer Helmet Lot #162 (Sale Order 202 of 580) Rare Luftwaffenhelfer Hitler Youth flack helpers helmet. With wire camo net and camo paint. Liner intact but no chin strap. Inside left stamped with '2'. Luftwaffenhelfer (Air Force Assistance) came into being Jan 22, 1943. The order called for drafting whole school classes with male students born in 1926 and 1927 into a military corps supervised by Hitler Youth and Luftwaffe personnel. More common term 'flackhelfer' (flack helper) referred to their duties manning the anti-air craft batteries. 'Fa7' and name 'Brower' marked inside in paint. Large Framed Andersonville Prison Litho Lot #316 (Sale Order 387 of 580) Updated black & white stone litho has been professionally framed and matted. Print size is 59.25" x 39.5". Framed 85.75"W, 45.75"T. This is and extremely detailed drawing of the Andersonville prison with hundreds & hundreds of figures, includes the palisade fences with guard flowers in the foreground with the background occupied by a Confederate encampment including artillery, tents, buildings and marching troops. The 3 sides of the border are occupied with 19 vignettes of prison life, undoubtedly depicting specific memorable scenes, particularly gruesome is number 1 showing a wagon load of bodies at the cemetery. The bottom of the print is inscribed "Andersonville Prison. Camp Sumter, GA./As it appeared August 1, 1864, when it contained 35,000 prisoners of war/drawn from memory by Thomas O'Dea. Late Private Co. E. 16th Regt. Maine Inf. Vols./ To the parents, widows, orphans, and friends of those who perished in this prison and to the remaining survivors, is this picture respectfully and fraternally dedicated" The left end of this inscription has the emblem of the National Association of Ex-Prisoners of War and the right side, the badge of the Gar. Overall very good condition. The litho has been professionally restored by the The Chicago Conservation Center for $950.00 in 1998. (Letter included). Professionally framed and matted with a cost of over $500 in 1998.

WWI "And They Thought We Couldn't Fight" Poster Lot #478 (Sale Order 507 of 580) American Icons of the Great War "And They Thought We Couldn’t Fight" created by Forsythe, Victor Clyde (1885-1962). The Victory Liberty Loan was issued in April 1919, after the close of the war. Propaganda for the loan stated the money was to be used to bring the soldiers home and take care of them upon return. Volunteers who worked to sell bonds were issued a coin made from German cannons captured at Chateau Thierry. Measures 30.5"W x 41"T. Has tears around edges. Has a big piece missing from right middle. WWI Original "V" (Red, White, and Blue) Poster Lot #492 (Sale Order 521 of 580) Artist unknown. Measures 30" x 19". This simple and yet edifying poster was printed for the fifth and fine Liberty Loan, known as the Victory Liberty Loan, hence the letter "V." World War I posters ran the gamut from extremely graphic to extremely Spartan. This poster represents the latter extreme. When the Spartan infantry would file into battle their shields were embossed with the Greek letter lambda, which stood for Lacadaemonians, the name by which they referred to themselves; this letter "V" harkens to that simple expression of self and power. Has a couple missing pieces on the left side. Otherwise in very good condition. See photos.

The Second Liberty Loan was called for on October 1st, 1917 and offered $3 billion in bonds at 4% interest. This was one of the more famous images of the Loan Posters, the bloody handprint of the Hun. While minimalist in appearance the bloody hand print carried heavy meaning. It depicted all the suffering and bloodshed going on in Europe. This poster is in very good condition. Has a couple small tears on the left side. No pieces missing. See photos

WWII US Army Signal Corps TG-34-A Code Trainer Lot #571 (Sale Order 567 of 580) Keyer TG-34-A, is an automatic unit for reproducing audible code practice signals previously recorded in ink on paper tape. The unit is a component of Code Practice Equipment EE-94-C, EE-95-C, and EE-96-C. The unit can be used to pro-vide code practice signals in permanent classrooms, for small groups in the field, or to provide a keying oscillator for use with a hand key. The unit is compact and portable, and reasonably weatherproof. It is self contained, but requires an external a-c power source. Ventilation for the cabinet is provided by a fan which is attached to the lower motor shaft. In good condition. Seems to be complete. See photos
