Promotion Document for Civil Service In the Waffen SS-War Criminal Dr. Waegner Lot #5 (Sale Order 6 of 177) Named to Dr. Harald Waegner. Obersturmbannfuhrer Waegner was an SS Doctor wanted for War Crimes for performing experiments on Russian POW's. He tried to commit suicide but underestimated lethal injection dosage while in U.S. captivity. Included are photocopies of a page of the Berlin phone book and SS membership roll both showing Waegner's info. Also a photo copy account of how the U.S. Military Police ID'ed him. Documents were found hidden under his house and were wet from poor storage by the Doctor! This is one of those documents!

Rare Early 3rd Reich Potsdam NS Jugendtag 1932 Badge-Aurich Lot #89 (Sale Order 92 of 177) This event was held in Potsdam in 1932 as the 1st Reich Youth Day under the auspices of Baldur von Schirach. The badge was subsequently authorized to be worn by attendees (of youth groups, SA, and so on) in silver finish. This is a nicely die struck example with sharp detailing and maker's mark on the reverse by Hermann Aurich. Original pin and pin plate on the reverse. Still retains a lot of the original silver finish Nice example of one of the first Hitler Youth awards!

Under close scrutiny it is our opinion it is an original portrait drawing/watercolor that is signed "Micheline Resco Washington 1922" Resco was Pershing's Mistress until they were married when Pershing was on his deathbed. Just below the portrait on a separate paper there is a dedication handwritten and signed by Pershing. There is also a handwritten dedication signed Micheline. Micheline Resco was a Romanian born, Parisian portrait artist that is well listed. Could be one of the sleepers of this auction!

Best Commander of the USN Torpedo Dive Bomber Squadron (VB-6) during the Battle Of Midway and flew off the decks of the USS Enterprise carrier. Best personally scored hits on 2 of the 4 Japanese aircraft carriers that were sunk in this decisive battle. For his actions, Best was awarded the Navy Cross and DFC. The jacket is named to Best and is dated 1932, the year he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. Both jacket and vest are in very good condition. Amazing historical grouping belonging to a true hero from one of the most famous battles of WW2,...The Battle Of Midway!

Rare French M1832 Naval Cutlass With Scabbard Lot #127 (Sale Order 130 of 177) The spine is engraved with the armory and date of 1841. Thick steel blade is in very good condition and is the variation with the engraved anchor on both side. Blackened iron basket guard still retains most of the original finish. You don't come across these very often and when you do the scabbard is missing. This scabbard is also in very good condition with metal fittings and leather body. Quite possibly used in the Civil War as a lot of edged weapons were imports used by both sides.

1st Model Luftwaffe Officer's dagger-Rare Maker-Carl Julius Krebs Lot #135 (Sale Order 139 of 177) Carl Julius Krebs is an extremely rare maker for these 1st model Luftwaffe daggers. The fittings are the typical plated pot metal fittings as was common with this maker. The cross guard has a crack and has been repaired. Wire wrapped Morrocan leather grip is in very good condition. Mirror bright steel blade is in excellent condition and has the corredt Carl Julius Krebs logo. Scabbard fittings show finish loss and leather sshows wear. Hanger chain is not present. Rare dagger in any condition.
