Marks: 133 HS (intertwined) Germany 3. Excellent condition. Herm Steiner, circa 1920, the rarely found googly is wearing its factory original costume.

Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass spiral-threaded eyes, dark eyeliner, closed mouth with delicately-shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing, antique costume. Excellent condition, sturdy body with wear to fingers. Marks: 3 (head and shoulders). French, the doll has distinctive neck articulation deposed by Dehors in 1867 which allows the head to tilt side to side and forward, as well as traditional swivel. A beautiful face with portrait like features.

Generally excellent, professional restoration on few fingers and lower rim of right eye is virtually imperceptible, very faint hairline on right cheek. Germany, circa 1880, the doll is known as "French wrestler" in reference to its muscular body.

Bisque shoulderhead with brown sculpted hair waved behind her pierced ears into elaborate braids and with two original drilled holes in hair for ribbon insertion, blue glass inset eyes, closed mouth, bisque forearms, very firmly stuffed muslin upper torso attached to wooden dowel pedestal which is covered with four tiers of folded paper French language "fortunes". Simon and Halbig for the French market, circa 1870. Value Points: very luxurious example of the "bebe a bonne aventure", with four tiers of fortunes, antique costume including elaborate jewelry which includes coral cluster with sign of the zodiac. The doll, itself is the very rare brown sculpted hair doll with glass eyes.
