Marks: 3 (head and shoulderplate). Bisque excellent, body is original albeit a bit worn, kid hands woven by kid gloves. Gaultier, circa 1875.

Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, lushly-painted lashes and brows, closed mouth with shaded lips, pierced ears, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, nicely costumed. Marks: Paris Bebe Tete Depose 8 (red stamp on head) 8 (incised) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Excellent condition. Emile Jumeau, the rare model was introduced in 1892 after Jumeau won his infringement lawsuit against Danel and was produced in very limited number for only a few years.

13" Sonneberg bisque closed mouth doll in the French look-alike manner, original dress. $900/1200

Bisque socket head, grey glass spiral-threaded inset eyes, dark eyeliner, rose-blushed eyeshadow and cheeks, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded outlined lips, pierced ears, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body, straight wrists. Marks: 4. Excellent condition, original body and body finish. Sonneberg, circa 1882, the doll closely resembles the early Jumeau bebe whose market it sought to capture.

Marks: 1894 AM 7 dep. Excellent condition. Marseille, the 1894 model was made for the French market, circa 1894, this example with beautiful bisque and eyes, original body and body finish.
