Solid domed bisque head, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, feathered brows, slightly-parted lips, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, carton torso with clockwork mechanism, kid over hinged upper legs, composition lower arms and legs. When wound, the doll turns head side to side, waves arms and legs, and cries "mama". Excellent condition, mechanism functions well. Jules Steiner, circa 1880, the model was marketed as Bebe Gigoteur, and has original paper label from Paris toy store Au Papa Etrennes.
