1977-s Grades f+ Lot #68 (Sale Order 39 of 365) 1977-s Grades f+. When notes are discovered that have been printed incorrectly (such as having the serial numbers upside down, etc.) the misprinted "error notes" are replaced with star notes because no two bills within a certain series can be produced with the same serial number. They are used to maintain a correct count of notes in a serial number run. By their nature, star notes are more scarce than notes with standard serial numbers and as such are widely collected by numismatists. Some of the highest prices paid for modern (post-1928) U.S. banknotes have been for star notes. The note itself is a Silver Certificate. They were redeemable in Silver. One of their most distinctive qualities is the blue Treasury seal and serial numbers. These notes include an additional legend printed on the face that is not present on any other Federal Reserve notes. The legend states thatÊSilverÊhad been deposited in the Treasury and was payable on demand to the noteÕs bearer.Ê

2012-w INFANTRY Modern Commem Dollar $1 Graded ms70, Perfection by USCG Lot #96 (Sale Order 52 of 365) 2012-w INFANTRY Modern Commem Dollar $1 Graded ms70, Perfection by USCG. This is the 2012-w Infantry Soldier Uncirculated Modern Silver Dollar Commemorative. On June 14, 1775, the Second Continental Congress authorized the formation of 10 companies of light infantry, creating the first elements of what we now know as the U.S. Armed Forces. From the beginning, the Infantry has borne the brunt of sacrifice for securing and protecting the freedoms of this Nation, our friends and allies. It is the "boots on the ground," armed with both rifle and bayonet, and owns the last 100 yards of the battlefield. The Infantry's seven values mirror the Army's: honor, integrity, duty, selfless service, personal courage, loyalty and respect. While only one branch of the Army, it has accounted for more than half of all the Medals of Honor awarded. Members of the Infantry have suffered approximately 75 percent of the casualties in our Nation's wars. Fifteen U.S. Presidents, including Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant and Dwight Eisenhower, served in the Infantry, all of whom saw combat action. Infantrymen have been called upon to fight all over the world in every sort of weather, over every kind of terrain and in every diverse culture. This beautiful coin is graded Perfection Gem+++ Uncirculated by USCG.

Indian Head Penny 1c Shotgun Roll, 1898 on one end, reverse on the other. The roll is held in an old, rare and collectible Coca-Cola wrapper. Actual roll pictured is the roll you will get. A great bank shotgun roll of Indian cents 1c with very tight ends. We have been getting excellent feedback on these rolls. People seem very pleased with them. They are a nice mixture of 1800's and 1900's. Some better dates. These shotgun rolls are all from a new consignee. They are all frrom one Estate. A difficult to find original roll. This particular Roll shows an 1898 on one end.

1915-s Panama Pacific Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Grades Select AU (fc) Lot #286 (Sale Order 157 of 365) 1915-s Panama Pacific Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Grades Select AU. Exceptionally Rare Commemorative. The Pan Pac was Minted Along with 4 Other Coins to Commemorate the Completion of the Panama Canal and Distributed at the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco which also Celebrated the Renewal of San Francisco since the Great Fire. When Examining the Pan Pac Half Dollar, Note that there is a Problem with Pan-Pac Halves in its Strike: Weakness is often Evident on ColumbiaÕs Head, Cap, Arm and Body, also on the Eagle's Breast Feathers and Claws. Occasionally, Coins are seen with a Rim Indentation Near the Periphery on Each Side; this is a Mint Caused Problem and Should Not Be Factored Into the Grade. When Grading Lightly Circulated Examples, Friction is First Evident on Columbia's Shoulder and on the Eagle's Breast.

**Star Note 1957B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades f, fine Lot #364 (Sale Order 201 of 365) **Star Note 1957B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades f, fine.

1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc Lot #446 (Sale Order 248 of 365) 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc. The 27-p is the big sleeper of numismatics in my opinion. It has the 2nd lowest mintage in the whole Peace dollar series. Lower than the 34-s, the 21-p, yet it does not command its proper value. Good coin to own multiple of and save, in my opinion, but if you've been coming to our auctions for a while you will have seen that this has always been my opinion.

***Auction Highlight*** 1837 Feuchtwanger Hard Times Token 1c Graded Choice Unc by USCG (fc) Lot #447 (Sale Order 249 of 365) ***Auction Highlight*** 1837 Feuchtwanger Hard Times Token 1c Graded Choice Unc by USCG. The Feuchtwanger Cent was a "German Silver" private token coin circulated by Lewis Feuchtwanger during the 1830-1840s in the U.S. The tokens were originally created as patterns to demonstrate a new type of metal for coinage, however when these proposals failed, they were temporarily used by the public during depressions to accommodate a small change shortage. In 1837, to alleviate the need for small change during the Hard Times, Feuchtwanger created tokens made of argentan (commonly known as German Silver), an alloy made of copper, nickel, zinc, tin and trace metals. It was considerably cheaper to produce than the extraction of copper for the government minted half-cents and cents. The Hard Times, an especially rough period of economic recession following the dissolution of the Second Bank of the United States, was known for massive hoarding of small change. Much of the small change circulating at this time (roughly 1837-1844) was composed of clunky copper half-cents and cents privately produced. In 1837, Feuchtwanger presented his one cent coins to Congress for approval as legal coinage and a cheaper substitute for copper. This was probably the first attempt to circulate "nickel" coinage in the United States. Congress denied his request, but Feuchtwanger persisted in his production and circulation. Laws banning private coinage were not passed until 1864. Between 1837 and 1844 thousands of Feuchtwanger cents came out of his New York City pharmacy.
