1841 Hard Times Token Webster Credit Current Plain Edge Lot #194 (Sale Order 195 of 240) Obverse depicts the United States Constitution as a ship on calm waters surrounded by WEBSTER / CREDIT CURRENT, dated 1841. Reverse depicts Van Buren's Experiment as a ship in a thunderstorm being driven into jagged rock surrounded by VAN BUREN / METALLIC CURRENT, dated 1837. Daniel Webster 1782-1852, was a strong supporter of the Constitution as reflected by the sentiment of this token.
