1936 DODGE 5-Window Businessman Coupe. Classic Vehicle! This 1936 Dodge was one of those projects that are sometimes heard about...starting its new life after being pulled from a Saskatchewan farmer's field in 1996. There are some cool "BEFORE" pictures that are included in the album that documents the entire progress of this 10-year build. It would've been much easier to grab a fiberglass body to start with, but a requirement on the completed project was that the build had to be done with an all-steel body. Impressive. Everything was purposely built on this car. It's been well thought out in its meticulous completion. It's said that pictures are worth 1000 words, and with this machine that's certainly the story. In describing the components and specifics -- it's very hard to convey the quality, precision, and accuracy that make this car special. Let's get the technical stuff out of the way before we move on to some of the more unique touches. The heartbeat under the hood comes from a 4-bolt main 1972 Chevy small block 350 V8, matched to a 700R4 automatic. Power gets to the wheels through the narrowed 9" Ford Jag rear-end that's running 3.55 posi gears. As one would expect of a car in this class -- it fires up easily, idles great, and pulls strong. It sounds amazing. The suspension and braking system were built under the same care as the rest of the car. Up front, there's a McGyver's Mustang II front end that's been dropped 8". Willwood 4-wheel disc brakes with SSB braking components. S&S exhaust exits from the ceramic coated headers. The entire car has been completed with Ron Francis wiring kits, to ensure reliability of all the electrical systems. All of these things contribute to handling and drive quality that you would expect. When you open up the doors, the quality of leather and interior refinement won't disappoint. It has been done to the same standard as the rest of the build. Leather top to bottom with custom molded door panels and headliner. Custom bucket seats, that are actually comfortable, with a surprising amount of room for the design of the car. A custom center console and gauge set up with Autometer Instrument gauges. Power windows by Specialty, power locks, billet steering wheel, tilt....and even a working Vintage A/C system. Sound comes from a 200-watt Pioneer deck through Infinity speakers. It's not a surprise to see that the bill from the interior shop was in excess of $25,000 during the build. The wheels on this Dodge are unique Billet Specialty designs. Out back they're 17" x 8". Up front, they're 16" x 8". They're all wrapped in fresh Dunlops. The look, fit, and size all lend themselves to the overall design and styling of this car. 1957 PONTIAC PATHFINDER DELUXE WAGON This is another car that recently came to us on trade out of a local collection. Both of the factory original GM Canada body tags are still intact under the hood. It decodes as a (2063F) 2-door/2-seat Pathfinder Deluxe wagon. During the restoration, things got a little more exciting when the 261 6 cylinder engine was dropped in favor of the current small block 350 V8 4bbl engine matched to a Tremac 5-spd transmission. Electrical and brakes have been upgraded to make this a very nice driving car. The straightness of the body panels on this Pontiac are impressive, finished in its original (code 2010) Tropical Turquoise. When you climb inside, you will be further impressed by the attention to detail. The grey interior sets off the look nicely with upgraded cloth seats, headliner, and door panels all having been done. 1965 SHELBY COBRA. This 1965 Factory-Five Cobra replica was completed by a certified factory five associated builder in the USA in 2000 before it made its way to Alberta. The powertrain separates this car from most as it's running a Ford Racing 5.0L crate engine topped with a Vortech V2 Supercharger. We recently had the car re-tuned with an all new Holley fuel management system then set up on the dyno. Upgrades include higher volume injectors, higher volume fuel pump, new map sensors, and specialty programming. It is now pumping out a whopping 441 hp at the engine with the boost dialed down to only 5lbs -- impressive! Power runs through a Ford T5 5-speed manual into a Ford 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears. The fiberglass body is attached to a custom tubular steel chassis. The power to weight ratio is impressive as this car clocks in at approx. 2200lbs dry weight. 1968 PLYMOUTH GTX 440. This is a nice example of a Canadian ordered RS23 two door hardtop GTX. It is finished in its correct (QQ1) Bright Blue Metallic over the (S6B) blue bucket seat interior. This color is the early predecessor to the legendary 'B5' blue that could be ordered on later model years. The combination is great with the white stripes setting it off nicely. Being an "L-Code" car, it came from the factory with the standard issue 440 HP engine, matched to a 727 automatic. Being Plymouth's highline version, the GTX has a much nicer interior than most cars of the day - including console, (T7) tach, (P6) rear speaker, and (N8) rear defog. Outside, it has all the typical GTX chrome - (19/25/78) sill/drip rail/wheel lip moldings, as well as the optional (H7) fender turn indicators. Paint and body are very nice on this car. 1969 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 396. This Canadian built GM vehicle was sold new in Chilliwack BC. As is known with Canadian cars, they are very easy to authenticate, thus increasing their future collectability and value. The GM Canada build sheet comes with the car. This 1969 396 SS is in amazing condition. Paint and body on are excellent, having recently being refinished in the striking bright red with painted black sport stripes on the outside, with black bucket seat/console interior. The engine compartment is very correct and looks like new. It has a freshly built 396 big block warranty block with 1971 date code matched to the factory installed Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Everything inside is in great condition, including the working factory gauges. Unique to 1969, the tachometer centers the four gauges on the right side of the cluster. In addition to the (Z25) Super Sport 396 package, some additional options correct to the build sheet on this car are (F40) HD front and rear suspension, (J50/J52) power disc brakes, (U14) gauge package with factory tach. 1970 Dodge Challenger 426 Hemi. No...this car didn't leave the factory as an "R" Code 426 Hemi car. But when it came time to find a car to build as a Hemi tribute, they probably couldn't have found a more solid 1970 Challenger. The (FC7) Plum Crazy paint was done to perfection over top of the original body panels on this Challenger -- including a complete rotisserie restoration on the underside of the car. It looks as good underneath as it does on top. Then the correct casting (#2468330) 426 Hemi engine was added and mated to a HD 4-spd manual with a pistol grip shifter. One of the best things about this car is the sound that resonates from the '4-tipped' factory looking exhaust. It has a recently completed full TTI cross-over exhaust system, from headers all the way back. There's not much room under the hood with the big Hemi in there, so the TTI headers resemble a work of art as they fit in without rubs or damage. The power gets to the wheels through the bullet-proof Dana rear end that was recently freshened up. To top it all off, it has a period correct (M51) Shaker hood. Some other great additions that got installed on this build include: •(J97) rallye dash •(N41/N42) dual exhaust with chrome tips •(C55) black bucket seats •(J81) black painted rear spoiler. The paint quality is what you would expect of a blue chip collectable -- it really needs to be seen in person as the pictures don't do it justice. The beautiful rotisserie restoration on this Mopar was completed in its original (FJ5) Sublime green color. Inside, you'll also notice the unique (H5X9) black vinyl with cloth houndstooth bucket seats. Both paint and interior were completed correct to the original fender tag, making this a striking combination.
