German Nazi Marked WWII ADAC Siver Automobile award Lot #11 (Sale Order 11 of 450) Interesting piece of history. Cup is engraved "Ehrenpreis, Gau Rheinland IV, A.D.A.C. and features a left facing Prussian Eagle with swastika which would likely make it 1933-1945. The engraving translates to Honor Award, Region Rhileland. Not sure what the Roman #4 indicates. It is known that at least one of these identical cups was awarded to Adolph Hitler. The base of this cup does have the Hugo Bohm and CO 800 Hallmark. We missed this in the earlier listing. There are also very faint etched markings inside the base that I was not able to decipher entirely. I can make out MAC, 1937, the remainder is illegible without cleaning. It is believed the cup is Silver however it is not tested. Approx. 8.5" tall X 4-3/8". Consignor purchased this in Germany many years ago. The purchase price at that time was roughly $2200.00
