1969 Norton Production Racer Prototype Lot #11 (Sale Order 11 of 74) **Titled as a 1972* It is in substantially the same condition as when it was bought in 1972, with a Quaife 5-speed gearbox , SS exhaust, and original Norton Production Racer front disk brake replacing the gearbox, exhaust and front drum brake that Cycle World tested. The bike differs from the production run of Prod Racers in several details, its red color, its handmade fiberglass fairing, Manx switchgear, etc. The bike was restored and overhauled in the early '80s and the mileage on the odometer is believed to be accurate. Gauges, lights, horn, etc are all in working order, and until recently, it was enormously torquey and fast, but is now running poorly, with the left exhaust valve not opening properly. No diagnosis has been attempted.
