1994 Porsche 968 Sport 1994 Porsche 968 Sport

1994 Porsche 968 Sport

Lot #401 (Sale Order 2 of 35)

  • One of 306 UK-spec, 968 Club Sports ordered by Porsche GB and badged 'Sport'

  • Widely regarded as one of the finest handling front-engined, rear-wheel-drive cars ever made

  • Large history file, £5,240 engine rebuild at marque specialist at 99,693 miles

  • Four former keepers, 12 years current ownership, MOT until October 2019

  • Thrilling to drive and rare as the proverbial 'hen's teeth'

Long-term Porsche devotees will be all too familiar with the 968, introduced to the world back in 1991 and which, as it turned out, was to be the end of the line for Porsche's enduring front-engined four-cylinder model line. The 968 was developed directly from the 944, which meant adopting its well-honed and proven running gear, whilst presenting a fresh design aesthetic that made it feel like a significantly new model.

The standard 968 was a great all-round sports car, but as a last ‘hurrah' to this enduring lineage, Porsche wanted to create a car tailored more for the pure enthusiast and, in particular, one that would excel in competition. In late 1992, the 968 ‘Club Sport' was introduced and, whilst it was mechanically identical to the standard 968 and shared the same 3.0-litre engine (240bhp and 225lb-ft of torque) and 6-speed gearbox, it differed in a number of important ways.

This track-focused run-out model adopted the philosophy of ‘less is more' by removing all luxury-related equipment from the basic build specification. With this no-frills approach, less weight, and clever suspension, Porsche could now focus media attention on the Club Sport's fast road and track abilities. As soon as the press got hold of the Club Sport and discovered what a brilliant drivers' car it was, the credibility of the 968 went through the roof. Even Walter Röhrl reckoned it was the best handling car that Porsche made. The CS achieved a 'Performance Car of The Year' award in 1993 from Performance Car magazine in the UK.

In total, just 1,923 CS examples were produced worldwide, of which only 179 were UK right-hand drive models, making the Club Sport a very rare Porsche indeed. There has been, over the years, a misconception in the motoring press that Club Sports are only Club Sports if they have bucket-seats, wind-up windows, no sunroof, manual hatch, etc., however, the Club Sport was available to order with any number of options - and indeed it frequently was. It's very common to see Club Sports with Recaro cloth comfort sport front seats, electric windows, sunroof, air conditioning, and even rear seats whilst still sporting the 'Club Sport' badge - especially in parts of Europe and Australia. However, for the UK market only, a further 306 Sport versions were commissioned by Porsche GB during 1994/95 and these UK-only models retained all the performance upgrades of the Club Sport but added rear seats, more comfortable front seats and electric windows. Badged as a ‘968 Sport' in the UK, all are genuine ‘P35 ClubSports' produced in Zuffenhausen.

On offer at ‘No Reserve’. this smart 968 Sport is indeed one of those cars commissioned by Porsche GB and was acquired by our vendor on 10/11/2006 with four former keepers prior to that. Dating from 1994, this example is finished in Grand Prix White and is fitted as standard with central locking, electric tailgate release, electric windows, electric mirrors, rear seats and black cloth seats. From the car’s history file we can see that it had a £5,240 engine rebuild at a marque specialist at 99,693 miles and that it has been maintained by Two plus Two Ltd since 2006 with all the relevant invoices since then. The current indicated mileage is 127,382 and it has recently benefited from a mechanical check with oil, filter and plug change and a new battery.

The MOT is valid until October 2019 and, supplied with its original manuals and service records, this lovely ‘Sport’ may turn out to be the bargain of the sale.

Offered at No Reserve, a superbly balanced lightweight in the spirit of the old 911 RS

**Regretfully Withdrawn**1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Targa **Regretfully Withdrawn**1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Targa

**Regretfully Withdrawn**1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Targa

Lot #402 (Sale Order 3 of 35)

**Regretfully Withdrawn**
  • The 'definitive' Porsche style of the 1980s

  • A C16, 3.2 with good service history

  • In-vogue Targa model in Guards Red with black sport seats

  • Lots of original features including brass door pins, spec sticker under bonnet etc.

  • Great driving example, with a strong and well-presented engine

The 3.2 Carrera is revered as the ultimate development of the original 911 that first appeared in 1963. These final cars (before being replaced by the more complicated 964) were the most flexible and usable of Butzi Porsche's original design. Launched in 1984 and reviving the ‘Carrera' name for the first time since 1977, these were the ultimate 1980s sports cars.

The all-alloy flat-6 engine, which had been fuel injected since 1971, received a final stretch to 3,164cc, giving torque-rich 231 bhp - enough to propel the lithe and slippery coupé to over 150 mph, with 0-60 mph coming up in 5.6 seconds.  All 3.2 Carreras feature galvanised bodies, which together with Porsche's legendary build quality, ensure that these classics are long-lasting.

The car presented here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Targa. It was initially registered in the UK on the First of July 1986, making it part of a late batch of cars fitted with the venerable 915 4-speed gearbox which, when used properly and up to temperature, is a much-revered means of swapping cogs. This classic Porsche is finished in Guards Red, complemented by a full black leather interior and is a standard factory 'Sport' model with Fuchs alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, electric pack and sports seats.

The car comes with a comprehensive history file, including lots of invoices for servicing and maintenance as evidenced by the willingness with which it starts and the healthy oil pressure. The car has recently benefited from new stainless-steel heat exchangers and silencers only last year, whilst being shod with a new set of Continentals tyres less than 250 miles ago.

The interior specification of the car is unusual in having leather door cards and armrests, which were originally ‘Can-Can’ Red (a very 1980s Porsche colour!), together with the gear lever gaiter. However, a previous owner decided to paint over them with black varnish! The current owner was in the process of refurbishing these areas, but a move abroad meant this work stalled. Likewise, there are other areas where a new owner could look to add value, including the driver’s seat.

There are some original features still present, with the correct Blaupunkt radio/cassette player, unpainted brass door pins, the spec sticker under the bonnet, and the correct leather-trimmed carpet in the luggage area. The engine bay and front luggage area (in the nose and under carpet) are very presentable and appear unmolested and the Targa roof is also in good condition and works/fits well.

This is a very usable classic 3.2, which is strong in many important areas but is offered at a tempting estimate to allow for some improvements. This is simply a genuine example of one of the most popular and sought-after Porsche models.

1994 Porsche 968 Clubsport 1994 Porsche 968 Clubsport

1994 Porsche 968 Clubsport

Lot #403 (Sale Order 4 of 35)

  • Highly revered as one of the best-handling Porsche models ever

  • Track-focused run-out model adopting the philosophy of ‘less is more’

  • Striking in Grand Prix White with red decals - the definitive 'special' Porsche livery

  • Proper CS lightweight specification, with the addition of a sunroof

  • Subtle driver-focused enhancements including 'Variant 3' coil-over suspension & M030 anti-roll bars and bushes

  • Maintained by renowned marque specialists

Long-term Porsche devotees will be all too familiar with the 968, introduced to the world back in 1991, and as it turned out, was to be the end of the line for Porsche’s enduring front-engined four-cylinder model line.  The 968 was developed directly from the 944, which meant adopting its well-honed and well-proven running gear, whilst presenting a fresh design aesthetic that made it feel like a significantly new model.

In total, just 1,923 CS examples were produced worldwide, of which only 179 were UK right-hand drive models, making the Club Sport a very rare Porsche indeed.

The car presented here is a C16 (UK-delivered) right-hand drive 1994 Porsche 968 Club Sport.  Its CS status is confirmed by its specification and chassis number and this striking example, in the much sought-after combination of Grand Prix White paintwork with red decals, was first registered on the 30 th September 1994. This particular CS was ordered new with all the CS lightweight elements and an electric sunroof.

Due to a move abroad, our fastidious car-enthusiast vendor is now selling what he has described as the ‘’best handling car that I have ever driven on the road to date.’’

Prior to him buying the car, a previous owner upgraded it with a 'Variant 3' coil-over suspension system (adjustable Koni units at the rear) including rear torsion bar reset, M030 anti-roll bars and bushes, and a 'Big Red' brake conversion on the front wheels, whilst the chassis was set up by 'Centre Gravity' for fast road/track day use. Having been maintained by EMC Motorsport (a 968 specialist) and PCT in Coventry, this car is in particularly fine fettle. Recent maintenance includes new timing belts and tensioners 11,000 miles, plus the balancer shaft seals were replaced, together with the tensioners, just 250 miles ago.

The car has a fully stamped service history, verifying the indicated 98,000 miles. At the time of writing, our vendor has unfortunately misplaced the physical paperwork relating to the car, but sensibly photocopied the service history and some MOTs, which are provided on a memory stick.

The 944, the 968 and even the 928 are seeing their values rise in the wake of the '911 explosion' and front-engined Porsches are having the Renaissance they richly deserve. This is a simply super example of arguably the most coveted front-engined Porsche model and, competitively guided, opens the door into a very exclusive club.

1982 Porsche 911 3.0 SC 'RS Homage' 1982 Porsche 911 3.0 SC 'RS Homage'

1982 Porsche 911 3.0 SC 'RS Homage'

Lot #404 (Sale Order 5 of 35)

  • Built by respected marque specialist RPM Technik as a race or distance rally car

  • RS-looking replica featuring a ducktail, fibreglass doors & bumpers and lightweight roof panel

  • Good history file including old MSA logbooks, a UK V5c and MOT'd until January 2020

  • A most useable and versatile car that could have a number of uses; track days, sprint, circuit racing or perhaps endurance and long-distance rallying

In 1978, Porsche introduced their latest development of the 911, christened the '911 SC' (Super Carrera) powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a five-speed, 915 transmission. Power output was initially 180bhp, later 188bhp and subsequently, in 1981, it was increased to a heady 204bhp. 1979 was the year that Porsche had envisioned that their new 928 would replace the 911, however, 911 sales remained so strong that Porsche revised its strategy and decided to inject new life into their core model.

We are pleased to offer this remarkable Guards Red 1982 Porsche 911 3.0 SC which started life as a standard road car before being completely stripped and rebuilt for circuit racing by RPM Technik for their own use. Campaigned on track with success, it was then sold to a Mr D. Buck who had RPM rebuild it to compete in the Tour Britannia 2012. A six-point, welded-in Custom Cages roll cage was installed, not only for safety but to help stiffen the shell. To reduce weight further, the car was fitted with fibreglass doors, fibreglass front and rear bumpers, Plexiglass windows, RS ducktail and a lightweight roof panel. Inside the cockpit, Recaro bucket seats are fitted with Schroth harnesses, along with a Monit G100 GPS trip computer and a Lifeline fire extinguisher. Prospective buyers should satisfy themselves as to the currency and legality of all safety equipment in this car.

At the time of the build, the 3.0 engine was also rebuilt, lightened and balanced with all new internals, a 964 C2 camshaft and a competition exhaust, resulting in a free-revving engine that feels suited to either circuit or rally use. The 5-speed manual 915 gearbox is fitted with a Wevo 915 short shifter allowing smoother and faster gear changes – imperative for competition use. The car has uprated suspension which is adjustable at the rear having been fitted with Elephant ‘quick-change’ plates and also runs a limited-slip differential.

The car wasn’t quite ready in time for the 2012 Tour Britannia, but it was certainly ready the following year, and it went on to win the Targa Class in 2013. Scrutineering stickers on the cage show that it also competed at the Fat Albert Stages Rally in 2016 and the Winter Raid Rallye International in 2017.

Accompanying the car is a comprehensive history file including two previous MSA logbooks, a UK V5c and an MOT valid until January 2020, along with a host of invoices. This car was built by respected marque specialists who have many years of motorsport to their name and is an incredibly versatile 911 that would be equally at home on track days, circuit racing with 750 Motor Club, or possibly a Porsche Club Championship entrant? The two rally lamps adorning the front of the car would suggest it would certainly feel at home on the Tour Britannia, a HERO Rally or the Winter Raid Rallye Series.

Looking, every inch, like the legendary RSL/R of 1973, but guided at less than 10% of an original, this well-built, beautifully presented 911SC offers serious fun and real driving pleasure whether on the road or in competition which, basically, is what they were designed for in the first place.

A well-built car by RPM Technik...'a bit of a beastie'

2010 Porsche 911 (997) Turbo S Gen 2 2010 Porsche 911 (997) Turbo S Gen 2

2010 Porsche 911 (997) Turbo S Gen 2

Lot #405 (Sale Order 6 of 35)

  • UK-supplied (C16-spec) on the 30 th September 2010 as a rare 'S' variant of the formidable 997 Turbo

  • 3,800cc DOHC twin-turbo flat 6-cylinder producing 530 bhp at 6,000 rpm via the 7-Speed PDK Transaxle

  • Handsomely finished in the rare colour of Rubin Red Metallic a with well-optioned black leather interior

  • Diligently maintained by Porsche main dealers, most recently in January 2019 when two new tyres were fitted

  • With just 25,500 miles the car is offered from the private collection of a long-term Silverstone Auctions client

  • Presented to auction in superb order with a history file, service book, tool kits, fresh MOT and UK V5c

The facelifted version of Porsche’s 997 Turbo was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. It was fitted with a completely new 3.8-litre engine generating a maximum power output of 530bhp, thanks to a revised Borg-Warner variable turbine geometry (VTG) turbochargers, whilst the optional 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox replaced the Tiptronic. With PDK and the also optional Sport-Chrono package, which includes the availability of electronically controlled launch control and an over-boost function for temporarily increasing the turbo-pressure, Porsche claimed the 911 turbo would accelerate from 0–62 mph in 3.4 seconds and before reaching a top speed of a staggering 194 mph.

Porsche has traditionally raised the appeal of the 911 Turbo during the latter part of its lifecycle with a heavily optioned 'S' model and the 997 Turbo is no exception. The twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre engine of the regular Turbo model has been subtly tweaked to boost performance and receives a nominal 1.0bar of boost (against 0.8bar on the standard version) along with lightly modified turbocharger vanes and a carbon fibre air manifold to endow the S with 530bhp and a continuous (not over-boosted) 516lb ft of torque. That’s 30bhp and 37lb ft more than the Turbo resulting in a class-leading (at the time) 0-62 mph in 3.1 seconds although the top speed remained unchanged.

This powerful, second generation, 997 Turbo S was delivered through Porsche Centre Reading on the 30th September 2010 resplendent in the rare colour of Rubin Red Metallic. Combined with the very well optioned black leather interior, the car presents as a refined Grand Tourer, but with ‘supercar’ performance. This Turbo S has been looked after by authorised Porsche service centres at the following intervals:

22/10/2012 Porsche Centre West London at 8,094 miles

22/07/2015 Porsche Centre Solihull at 13,429 miles

27/01/2017 Porsche Centre Brooklands, Surrey at 18,683 miles

25/01/2019 Porsche Centre Brooklands, Surrey at 25,298 miles

Purchased by our vendor, a long-standing and regular customer of Silverstone Auctions, on the 30 th August 2017 the Turbo S joined a varied stable that included a Ferrari FF and Astons DB5, DB6 and V8 Volante. With business and charity commitments keeping him busy, the car has only travelled some 4,000 miles in his ownership. Now showing 25,393 miles, this pristine Porsche is presented to auction in superb order with a history file, service book, tool kits, fresh MOT, UK V5c and a Porsche Approved Warranty until 27th January 2020.

Combining earth-shattering performance with genuine day-to-day usability, the Turbo S is untouchable, and in this delightful colour combination and sensibly guided, appears irresistible.

1989 Porsche 928 GT 1989 Porsche 928 GT

1989 Porsche 928 GT

Lot #406 (Sale Order 7 of 35)

  • Right-hand drive, UK-spec, 928GT stylishly finished in Forest Green Metallic

  • Limited-slip differential, sports chassis and GT-spec 16” Club Sport alloys

  • Cream leather sports seats, sunroof, air con, top of the range Blaupunkt Toronto

  • Recent major service including the cambelt, water pump, belt tensioner/rollers etc

  • Excellent service history. Fresh MOT valid until August 2020

  • Supplied with toolkit, handbooks, ‘GT’ supplementary manual, service records, spare key

  • Competitively guided and opens the door into a very exclusive club of Porsche ownership

Porsche's intended replacement for the 911 may not have achieved that particular goal, but it wasn't for a lack of performance or technological wizardry. An alloy V8 was attached to a rear-mounted gearbox, and the galvanised body had aluminium doors and bonnet, between body-coloured plastic bumpers - pretty radical for the period. The 928 was launched to a fanfare and surprised many by being named European Car of the Year, an award that traditionally went to worthy, but dull, family hatchbacks.

Critics immediately recognised the advances inherent in the 928 over the 911, and the car was universally praised as one of the greatest 'GT' cars of all time. It handled, it was quick, it looked fantastic and it was comfortable. With the 928, Porsche created a serious long distance grand-touring car that could also tackle twisting B-roads with ease, thanks to super-direct steering, 50/50 weight distribution and a clever Weissach rear axle that kept the car firmly planted. Many road testers found that their nerve ran out long before the 928's grip. Porsche continuously developed their range-topper throughout its production life, culminating with the launch of the S4 in 1987, which differed slightly from the earlier Series cars with its smoothed-off front and rear bumpers, larger rear spoiler, more interior equipment and a 5-litre version of the V8 engine developing 316bhp.

1989 saw further development in the story of Porsche's 928 with the launch of the GT featuring a more powerful 5.0-litre V8 producing a creamy 326bhp, but more importantly, the introduction of a 5-speed manual gearbox for those who loved the level of control offered by a clutch and gear lever. The GT also sported twin exhausts, uprated camshafts, and sports suspension - the ultimate 928 had arrived!

This fabulous, right-hand drive, UK-spec, 928GT was supplied new by Malaya Garage (Porsche) on October the 12th 1989 (1990 model year) in Forest Green Metallic (L22E) which, at the time, was only available to special order. It was further specified with a limited-slip differential, sports chassis, and the GT-spec 16” Club Sport forged alloys. Future occupants were to benefit from cream leather sports seats, a sunroof, air conditioning, and the top of the range Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 46 Cassette-radio.

This lovely car has been enjoyed by five recorded keepers and the odometer currently indicates 37,050 miles. The most recent keeper purchased the car from the, notably particular, Paul Stevens Porsche in 2012 and it has only covered 5,000 miles since. The service record appears excellent and the car benefits from a major service by marque specialists, Williams Crawford, in August 2019 including replacing the cam belt, water pump, belt tensioner/rollers, and a fresh MOT (August 2020). The toolkit is present as are the complement of handbooks, 928 GT supplementary manual, the original service maintenance book, the maintenance record folder, and a spare key.

The 928GT is a rare car and this superb example, with its low mileage and sophisticated colour combination, is bound to attract considerable interest.

A superb example of the rare, manual gearbox, GT with only 37,050 miles

1959 Porsche 356B T5 Coupe 1959 Porsche 356B T5 Coupe

1959 Porsche 356B T5 Coupe

Lot #407 (Sale Order 8 of 35)

  • Originally sold in 1959 in left-hand drive by Porsche Car Pacific Inc. San Francisco

  • Finished in black with a red leather interior, this is the earlier ‘T5’ body

  • Full restoration by marque specialists Curves Bodywork of Essex ten years ago

  • Supplied with a history file documenting its restoration and supplied with a UK V5c

The 356 is acknowledged as Porsche's first venture into production and was a lightweight and nimble rear-engined, rear-wheel-drive, two-door sporting car available in hardtop coupé and open configurations. Engineering and design innovations continued during the years of manufacture, contributing to its motorsports success and its popularity as a road car. The model was created by Ferdinand 'Ferry' Porsche (son of Dr.Ing. Ferdinand Porsche, founder of the company), based on an original design by Porsche employee Erwin Komenda, and initially its mechanicals (including engine, suspension, and chassis) were derived from the basic Volkswagen Beetle, a product of his Father's fertile imagination. Porsche continued to develop and refine the 356 with a focus on performance, and by the late 1950s fewer parts were shared with its pedestrian cousin, and increasing success in competition and its availability worldwide resulted in the distinctive little car, in all its iterations, finding over 76,000 homes between 1948 and 1966. Today, the Porsche 356 is a highly regarded collector's car.

According to its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the 356B T5 on offer here was originally sold by Porsche Cars Pacific Inc. San Francisco, California in 1959 finished in Heron Grey with a red leatherette interior. Imported to the UK in 1976, much of its history is unknown until it became the subject of a full restoration by well-known marque specialist Curves Bodywork in Essex. Originally undertaken to showcase their work, with all that implies in terms of quality, the car has since been shown at various Porsche club meets, trips to the Le Mans Classic and Reims.

During the restoration process, the body was taken back to bare metal revealing a good shell, the only replacement sections required being a front clip and the boot floor, before repainting in base black with clear coat. Photographs documenting the restoration do exist and will be available for any potential purchaser to view. At the same time, the running gear was completely dismantled, cleaned and media blasted, repainted, electroplated and refitted with new hardware and consumables as required.

The red leatherette interior, believed to be surviving from an earlier restoration in the late 1970s, was in excellent condition and was reinstated without requiring attention, however, a completely new carpet set was fitted. All rubber seals were replaced throughout and all the brightwork was restored or replaced as appropriate. The original engine was fully stripped and rebuilt with replacement parts as deemed necessary including a full carburettor rebuild and all ancillary items stripped, painted, plated or replaced.

Apart from a colour change to its current black, a front disc conversion and a 12V battery conversion the car remains completely standard. The current private owner has had much enjoyment from his little Porsche and is now ready to pass it on to another owner. At today’s sensible estimate, this is a super opportunity.

A delightfully restored early 356B T5

Introduced in 1984 and possibly the ultimate version of the 3.2 Carrera was the ‘Option M491-Turbo-look’ or ‘Supersport’ as it later became known in the UK. Initially, Option M491 was only available on a Coupé and had to be ordered through the ‘Special Wishes’ program, but was later extended to include the Targa and Cabriolet in 1985, before becoming an official model available from dealers in 1986. From 1987 onwards these dramatic versions were officially known as SSE (Supersport Equipment), and the cars in this final three-year run-up until 1989 were fitted with the more user-friendly G50 Getrag gearbox and a hydraulic clutch.

'M491' was not just a sop to the excesses of the 1980s, with flared arches evoking the appearance of some dramatic Porsche models from the past, but was a popular option offering the 'macho' good looks of the Turbo without the mechanical complexities. However, it was not cheap adding over £10,000 to the cost of a standard variant by the end of the model’s life in 1989, possibly explaining the relatively small build numbers. The SSE spec also included a limited-slip differential, the stiffer suspension and superior braking system from the 930 Turbo, a wrap-around deep chin-spoiler, the famous ‘tea-tray’ rear spoiler, and wider Fuchs alloy wheels. The rarity of Supersport models is undeniable, especially in right-hand drive, but official figures are hard to come by as technically the 'Turbo-look' option was, just that, an option and not a Type so records do not exist but a respected source quotes that just 651 M491 cars (including all Coupés, Targas and Cabriolets) were manufactured between 1984 and 1989 with only 75 of those being in C16 UK-spec with 39 of those being Cabriolets.

This lovely Supersport Cabriolet is a C16, UK, right-hand drive car (1 of 39) and was supplied to its first owner by Lancaster Porsche during January 1988. It’s finished in the classic eighties Porsche colour of Guards Red but the interior is unusual having been selected from the factory ‘Special Wishes Program’. It looks fabulous in Linen leather and features a black leather dash top, leather knee rolls, leather to the door panels, armrests and rear seats, full leather front seats piped in red with eight-way electric adjustment all topped off with a Special Wishes gold-embellished gear lever knob To differentiate the car a little further it was dealer-fitted with the front air dam and side-skirts from the 930SE.

In addition to the Supersport’s standard features which include the manual G50 gearbox, Fuchs alloy wheels, electric door mirrors, power steering, air conditioning, CD Player, central locking, electric windows, lumbar support and an alarm this car was further optioned with (490) Sound system - High Fidelity Package with 8 speakers, (494) Amplifier, (330) Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 46cassette-radio and (975) Luggage compartment velour carpet.

It benefits from a comprehensive maintenance record supporting the indicated mileage of 73,806 which includes a documented engine refresh carried out by Porsche Cambridge in 2010 at 67,542 miles. The car has covered a little over 6,000 miles in the last 9 years and has recently been serviced (73,714-less than 100 miles ago) and the MOT is valid until August 2020. It will be accompanied by its original tool roll, aluminium spare wheel (correct for a Supersport), a second key, the Certificate of Authenticity, handbooks, service book and the history file.

As one of only thirty-nine, UK Supersport Cabriolets are rare, however, with its SE aerodynamics and the bespoke Special Wishes interior, this lovely 911 is undoubtedly unique.

1993 Porsche 968 Clubsport 1993 Porsche 968 Clubsport

1993 Porsche 968 Clubsport

Lot #409 (Sale Order 10 of 35)

  • A C16, UK 968CS in Grand Prix White supplied by Evans Halshaw Porsche on 6th May 1993

  • One of only 179 and with its first keeper until 2014 (21 years)

  • Specified from new as a ‘drivers’ car with no creature-comfort options

  • Further enhanced; upper and lower bracing bars, rose-jointed rear anti-roll bar links, a lightweight flywheel, a lightweight exhaust system and KW Variant three adjustable coilovers

  • 43,300 miles. Recent service including belts, four x Michelin Pilot Sports. Fresh MOT

  • Complete with its original handbook, service book, wallet, tool roll and a large history file

  • Totally driver-focused, the quintessential Clubsport

The standard 968 was a great all-round sports car but, as a last ‘hurrah' to this enduring lineage, Porsche wanted to create a car tailored more for the pure enthusiast and, in particular, one that would excel in competition.

There has been, over the years, a misconception in the motoring press that Club Sports are only Club Sports if they have bucket-seats, wind-up windows, no sunroof, manual hatch, etc., however, the Club Sport was available to order with any number of options-and indeed it frequently was. It's very common to see Club Sports with Recaro cloth comfort sport front seats, electric windows, sunroof, air conditioning, and even rear seats whilst still sporting the 'Club Sport' badge.

However, the first owner of this smart Grand Prix White 968CS was not tempted by the options list and was obviously keen not to dilute its original sporting intent with mere creature comforts. It was delivered by Evans Halshaw Porsche on 6/05/1993 with the optimum specification of factory M030 suspension, adjustable roll bar, larger brakes, and the M220 limited-slip differential. The only other boxes ticked were the deletion of the extended rear shelf, deletion of the decals and the fitting of a set of Sabelt four-point harnesses.

It remained with its original keeper until 2014 when his advancing years precluded the Porsche’s further use but during his ownership he obviously enjoyed utilising the car’s legendary handling and enhanced it further with additional front suspension upper and lower bracing bars, rose-jointed rear anti-roll bar links, a lightweight flywheel, a lightweight exhaust system and he upgraded the Koni suspension to the more sophisticated KW Variant 3 adjustable coil-overs offering better damping and more adjustability. (The original M030 Koni shock absorbers have been rebuilt by Koni and are supplied with the car).

This lovely C16, UK-spec, right-hand drive Club Sport was recently serviced by a marque specialist, and the attention included replacing the cambelt and balance belt, four new Michelin Pilot Sport tyres and a fresh MOT. The current indicated mileage is 43,300 and it’s accompanied by its original handbook, service book, wallet, initial order, tool roll and a large history file.

With its optimum specification and subtle handling enhancements, this sparkling little Club Sport is unashamedly driver-focused which, we would suggest, is exactly what Porsche had in mind.

A sparkling little Club Sport that is unashamedly driver-focused

1994 Porsche 911 (964) Speedster - Ex-Dario Franchitti 1994 Porsche 911 (964) Speedster - Ex-Dario Franchitti

1994 Porsche 911 (964) Speedster - Ex-Dario Franchitti

Lot #410 (Sale Order 11 of 35)

  • Formerly owned by multiple IndyCar Series Champion and Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti

  • One of just 469 produced for the North American market and finished in Guards Red with grey/black bucket seats

  • In outstanding condition and showing just 19,279 miles on the odometer – MOT’d until 2nd July 2020

  • Supplied with its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a UK V5c, original books, spare key and a copy of the original sales invoice

A legend in its own right, the ‘Speedster’ name first adorned the Porsche 356 in 1954 as a roadster designed for the West Coast American car scene. The vision of the then importer Max Hoffman, the little Speedster became an instant hit on the racing circuits due to its light weight and nimble handling.

It wasn’t until some years later in 1989 that the Speedster name made a comeback in the form of the 911 Carrera 3.2, with its raked-back aluminium windscreen, 3 inches lower than the standard car and its double hump clamshell fibreglass tonneau cover. In 1994 the Speedster option was available once again, this time on the ‘964’ model 911, which also had upgrades including power-steering, ABS, coil springs on the front suspension, and an electric rear spoiler on the engine cover. Fewer than 1,000 964 Speedsters were produced with only 469 being made for the North American market.

We are pleased to offer this particular Porsche 911 (964) Speedster supplied new through Porsche Hinsdale of Illinois on 25 th February 1994 to a Mr Tony Morelli. Finished in Guards Red with grey/black ‘RS’ bucket seats other options at the time included; 17” alloy ‘Cup’ wheels, a locking differential (40%), a Porsche CR-1 radio, a luggage compartment lined in velour, a centre-mounted high rear brake light and air-conditioning.

The car was then purchased in 2010 by multiple IndyCar Series Champion and Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti who kept it in America whilst he was driving for Chip Ganassi Racing - a team with which he won the Championship three times. After he retired from the Series at the end of the 2013 season, he moved back to the UK and hence this beautiful Speedster made the journey across the pond and was registered with the DVLA to Mr Franchitti’s address in the Home Counties.

The condition of this car remains outstanding and contained in the Owner's File is the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, its original marketing brochure, the spare key, its original book pack including the service book and a copy of the original sales invoice. The sticker under the bonnet also remains intact.

With just under 1,000 of these 964 Speedsters produced and only 469 cars made for the North American market, this 5-speed manual car is incredibly rare and is supplied with a UK V5c and an MOT Certificate valid until 2 nd July 2020. With its excellent provenance, super condition and just 19,279 miles on the odometer, this is a rare Porsche that is worthy of consideration by any serious Porsche collector.

1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Supersport Cabriolet 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Supersport Cabriolet

1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Supersport Cabriolet

Lot #411 (Sale Order 12 of 35)

This is two-owner car, not three owners as previously stated. The first owner was a company, before it was transferred to private ownership - to the chap that worked at said company.

  • A C16 UK-supplied right-hand drive Supersport Cabriolet

  • Finished in black with a cream leather interior piped black, black hood and tonneau cover

  • Recent recipient of a service totalling £5,500 at a marque specialist to include; a new clutch, exhaust, fuel tank and fuel pump

  • Supplied with a UK V5c, tools and service book, this two-owner car is now showing just 50,435 miles

Introduced in 1984 and possibly the ultimate version of the 3.2 Carrera was the ‘Option M491-Turbo-look’ or ‘Supersport’ as it later became known in the UK. Initially, Option M491 was only available on a Coupé and had to be ordered through the 'Special Wishes' program, but was later extended to include the Targa and Cabriolet in 1985, before becoming an official model available from dealers in 1986.

The Supersport spec also included a limited-slip differential, the stiffer suspension and superior braking system from the 930 Turbo, a wrap-around deep chin-spoiler, the famous ‘tea-tray’ rear spoiler, and wider Fuchs alloy wheels. The rarity of Supersport models is undeniable, especially in right-hand drive, but official figures are hard to come by as technically the 'Turbo-look' option was, just that, an option and not a type so records do not exist but a respected source quotes that just 651 M491 cars (including all Coupés, Targas and Cabriolets) were manufactured between 1984 and 1989 with only 75 of those being in C16 UK-spec and half of those were Cabriolets.  According to the 'Turbo-look Register', there are currently 27 UK-owned Supersport Cabs of which only five are finished in black.

Offered here is a beautiful UK-supplied, right-hand drive (C16) Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Supersport registered to it first owner on 1 st March 1986. Finished in black with a cream leather interior piped in black, the hood is black mohair with a matching tonneau cover. Featuring the 4-speed manual gearbox, the car rides on black Fuchs alloys wheels, has electric door mirrors, power steering and air-conditioning.

Having covered just 50,435 miles this example has been enjoyed by just three keepers and, as a result, appears in superb order. It’s clear that each owner has cosseted the car, and most recently it has been fitted with a new fuel tank and pump, exhaust and clutch resulting in an invoice for £5,500 from a Porsche marque specialist.

Supplied with a UK V5c, its tools, invoices and original service book, low-owner examples like this rarely come to market especially one of only reportedly five in black – viewing is highly recommended.

1970 Porsche 911T 2.2 1970 Porsche 911T 2.2

1970 Porsche 911T 2.2

Lot #412 (Sale Order 13 of 35)

  • US-supplied, left-hand drive, 1970 2.2-litre 911T

  • Beautiful in its original colour of Irish Green over a tan leatherette interior

  • Matching numbers with its original engine and gearbox

  • Supplied with a UK V5c, its previous State of Indiana Title and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity

Introduced at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show the basic Porsche 911 design would run virtually unchanged for twenty-nine years. Ferdinand Porsche had been working on the design since the late fifties as a better performing replacement for the 356. Today his design still underpins the production of Porsche AG of Stuttgart. Before long the merits of using the Porsche 911 in competitive motorsport became apparent and history records it as one of the most successful campaigners of all time. From the 24 Hours of Le Mans to grass-roots motorsport, the 911 was simply the car to have.  For 1970, the 'C-Series' 911 was introduced with a larger bore to give a capacity of 2165cc, producing 125bhp and now badged as a 'T'. Alterations to the suspension geometry improved the handling and added a bit more weight to the steering feel. The standard Fuchs alloy wheels gained a bit of girth and were now 6 inches wide.

Offered here is a left-hand drive Porsche 911T 2.2 delivered to it first owner in the United States in 1970. The car is finished in its original colours and arguably one of the most beautiful colour combinations of Irish Green over a Tan leatherette interior. Options at the time included ‘comfort equipment’ and a tinted windshield.

The car was imported into the UK in 2017 and registered with the DVLA obtaining a UK V5c. Most recently the body was attended to, with new floors and a full repaint in its original colour. At the same time, the interior was smartened up with new upholstery and the engine received a tune-up. The Fuchs wheels are wearing a set of new tyres giving it the classic Porsche stance. Included in the sale is the owner’s manual, jack and spare tyre along with the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

Early 911s possess a certain purity of line, particularly in bright colours, a complete world away from the aerodynamic extravagances of the eighties and nineties, and in terms of style, it's the early cars that engender the most appreciative glances. A well set-up and maintained 911T, 'E' or 'S' driven with an intelligent right foot will provide some of the most quintessentially rewarding driving experiences you have ever had, and even the 125bhp 911T, will leave you with a serious grin on your face!

2015 Porsche 911 (991) Turbo S 2015 Porsche 911 (991) Turbo S

2015 Porsche 911 (991) Turbo S

Lot #413 (Sale Order 14 of 35)

  • The final version of the 991 Turbo offering 560bhp and 750 N.m of torque!

  • A UK-supplied, C16-specification, right-hand drive car, finished in Carrera GT Silver with a black leather interior

  • Currently the property of rock legend and Jamiroquai front man – Jay Kay

  • Originally a dealer demonstrator and consequently the options list has been very well ticked

  • Recent £3,500 Porsche service, which included four new tyres and a brand new windscreen

  • Just 5,000 miles from new and very sensibly guided. A superb opportunity with celebrity provenance

The ‘S’ version is traditionally the final version of a Porsche 911 Turbo and thus signifies the ultimate development of that model. This 991 Turbo S is no exception and the car delivers no less than 560bhp and 750 N.m of torque!

The car is, of course, four-wheel drive and features the Porsche 7-speed dual-clutch PDK sequential transmission allowing it to cover 0-100km/h ( 0- 62mph) in just 3.1 seconds, although several British car magazines achieved it in just 2.6 seconds. Truly astonishing!

This UK-supplied, C16-specification, right-hand drive car, finished in Carrera GT Silver with a black leather interior, is currently the property of rock legend and Jamiroquai front man – Jay Kay.

First registered as a dealer demonstrator on the 20/3/2015, it didn't remain that way for long as Jay couldn't resist the car and acquired it on 13/04/2015. The car has been main Porsche dealer serviced throughout its life, in fact, it has just returned from a £3.5k Porsche service, which included four brand new tyres and also a brand new windscreen as the original one had a small motorway stone chip. So it is now 'on the button' and ready to use.

The factory options fitted to the car from new are significant and comprise:

Burmester high-end surround sound system

Electric folding mirrors

Electric glass slide/tilt sunroof

Floor mats

Guards Red seatbelts

Heated seats

Heated steering wheel

Homelink

ISOFIX for the passenger seat

Light Design package

Multi-function steering wheel

Online services

Porsche Entry and Drive

Porsche crest embossed on headrests

Porsche crest on storage lid

Privacy glass

Reversing camera including park assist front and rear

Sideskirts painted in body colour

Taillights with clear glass

Vehicle key painted and Voice control

Today it has covered just 5,000 miles from new and represents serious value for money against all the current similar cars offered for sale today. A superb opportunity with celebrity provenance.

1968 Porsche 911T SWB 1968 Porsche 911T SWB

1968 Porsche 911T SWB

Lot #414 (Sale Order 15 of 35)

  • A rare short-wheelbase model delivered new through Porsche Netherlands

  • Finished in its original colours of Polo Red over black leatherette interior

  • Recent refurbishment included fresh paint, a new interior and an engine and gearbox rebuild

  • Supplied with a NOVA reference number for a prospective buyer to begin the registration process

  • Sympathetically refreshed, this is a really lovely example of where it all began

Porsche's long-running and much-loved 911 sports car first appeared at the 1963 Frankfurt Show as the '901', but shortly after production proper commenced in 1964 had become the '911' following Peugeot's complaints about the use of '0' model numbers. The preceding Type 356's rear-engined layout was retained but the 911 switched to unitary construction for the bodyshell and dropped the 356's VW-based suspension in favour of a more modern McPherson strut and trailing arm arrangement. In its first incarnation, Porsche's single-overhead-camshaft, air-cooled flat-six engine displaced 1,991cc. The first of countless upgrades to the perennial 911 came in 1966, two years after production had commenced, with the introduction of the 911S and in 1967 the 911T (Touring) was introduced as a new 2.0-litre model. Further revisions were made in 1969 when the 911's wheelbase had been extended by 57mm.

Offered here is a 1968 Porsche 911T SWB produced in June ’68 and sold new through Porsche Netherlands. Its original colour scheme was Polo Red and a black leatherette interior – the same combination it wears today. Most recently the car has been the recipient of a full repaint and brand new interior. At the same time the engine and gearbox were rebuilt – however, the car no longer has its original engine, and instead is fitted with a later, type-correct, 1969 engine.

Supplied with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the car was recently imported to the UK and hence is supplied with a NOVA reference number ready for a prospective buyer to MOT the car before beginning the registration process with the DVLA to obtain a UK V5c.

Rarely do short-wheelbase 911s come to market, and this sympathetically restored and superbly presented example is the perfect candidate for entry to the rather exclusive club of early 911 ownership.

1980 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo Martini 1980 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo Martini

1980 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo Martini

Lot #415 (Sale Order 16 of 35)

  • A beautifully presented 911 Turbo finished in Grand Prix White with black leather interior and Martini livery

  • Comprehensive and detailed history folder including documents supporting maintenance and ownership from new

  • A letter on file stating that this example is regarded by the PCGB as a genuine ‘Martini’ 930 Turbo

  • The original Turbo, in classic 1980s colours, clean MOT to August 2020, a rare Martini car in fine order

Having accrued a wealth of experience of turbocharging air-cooled engines from their racing program, it seemed to make perfect sense for Porsche to utilise that knowledge by applying it to their famous rear-engined sports car, and consequently, at the 1973 Paris motor show, they unveiled a prototype turbocharged 911, the ‘Type 930’. Porsche engineers tested both the 2.7 and 3.0-litre engines, with the 3.0 air-cooled flat-six (that could trace its origins back to the 911 RSR) being chosen as it produced more torque low down. By attaching a Kühnle, Kopp and Kausch (KKK) turbocharger, the 930 was the most powerful production Porsche thus far and, suddenly, the 911 was a supercar. The production-ready 911 Turbo was shown at the Paris show in autumn 1974, and not surprisingly in an era when turbocharging was seen as rather exotic, captivated the world's motoring press. Rightly, it was billed as a supremely fast and luxurious flagship model, combining ballistic performance and head-turning looks with air conditioning, electric windows and other creature comforts. In 1977/78, capacity went up from 3.0 to 3.3 litres and an air-to-air intercooler was positioned under the rear spoiler. The spoiler was re-profiled and raised slightly to make room for the intercooler assembly, and this meant saying goodbye to the ‘whale-tail' and welcoming the equally distinctive ‘tea-tray'.

First registered on 12 June 1980, this UK, right-hand drive, 4-speed Porsche 911 Turbo was, according to documents within the history file, supplied by Gordon Ramsey Ltd, Newcastle. An official letter from the Porsche Club Great Britain addressed to a previous keeper confirms that this car is recognised as an original Martini car and as such is a rather desirable model. Now showing 102,100 miles, the car presents very well having been subject to a fairly recent repaint and regularly maintained to a very high standard supported by invoices and documents found within the substantial history folder. Recent work includes having the wheels professionally refinished, a full service and the car is offered with a clean MOT expiring on 16 August 2020.Here is an opportunity to own a sparkling 930 Turbo wearing Martini stripes that certainly makes it stand out from the crowd. Sure to be the talk of every classic car show, this eye-catching Turbo really is a ‘snapshot’ of Porsche’s long-term partnership with Martini and Rossi.

The 1980s 'Supercar' that certainly earned its stripes

1973 Porsche 911T 2.4 1973 Porsche 911T 2.4

1973 Porsche 911T 2.4

Lot #416 (Sale Order 17 of 35)

  • US-supplied, left-hand drive, 1973 911T 2.4

  • Striking colours of Sepia Brown with black upholstery and tan carpets

  • Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms it retains its original engine

  • Supplied with a NOVA reference number, its previous State of Ohio Title and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity

The first of countless upgrades to the perennial 911 came in 1966, two years after production had commenced, with the introduction of the 911S. Easily distinguishable by its stylish Fuchs five-spoked alloy wheels, the 'S' featured a heavily revised engine producing 160bhp. In 1967 the 911T (Touring) was introduced as a new base model, initially with the 2.0-litre engine in 110bhp form before gaining the 2.2-litre unit along with the rest of the range in 1969, by which time the 911's wheelbase had been extended by 57mm to tame the occasionally wayward handling. By this time the models on offer had stabilised at three: the entry-level 911T, middle-ranking 911E and top-of-the-range 911S, all of which were available as either a closed coupé or Targa convertible. With the 2.2-litre engine's arrival, a common type of cylinder head was adopted, the differing power outputs being determined principally by valve timing rather than valve sizes as had been the case hitherto. In 1972 all 911 variants received the 2,341cc (nominally 2.4-litre) unit, which in 'T' specification produced a maximum of 130bhp, the same output as the original 911 of 1963.

Offered here is a left-hand drive, Porsche 911T 2.4 delivered to its first owner in the United States in 1973. Thought to have spent much of its life in California, this car is finished in the period colour of Sepia Brown (Code 415 for ‘73) with black upholstery and tan carpets. Other options at the time included a manual antenna, loudspeaker and noise suppression, tinted glass, and Pirelli tyres.

The car was recently imported into the UK and hence is supplied with a NOVA reference number and a copy of its State of Ohio title ready for a prospective buyer to MOT the car before beginning the registration process with the DVLA.

Recently re-painted in its original colour, the interior has benefitted from new carpets, new headlining, seat covers and door panels. At the same time, the engine was taken apart and resealed with new piston rings, new pistons and cylinders.

Supplied with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirming that the engine is the original unit, this 911T is now showing 51,062 miles on the odometer (not warranted). This is a really smart 911 with excellent paint, good shut lines, tight rubbers and very good brightwork. The engine bay looks very tidy and the interior is a credit to the car with it’s traditional incomprehensibly placed controls and early Blaupunkt stereo. The colour may not be everyone’s cup of tea (on reflection they are about the same colour) but, in the early seventies, this was a particularly trendy hue.

About three years ago these early cars were reaching some very high numbers but, thankfully, the market has returned to more sensible levels and cars like this can be bought to use and enjoy having fun with like-minded enthusiasts. At today’s sensible estimate, this delightful 2.4T could be the start of a new adventure.

  • Highly-specified display car for Porsche GB Ltd and subsequently sold through AFN Chelsea

  • Presented in Schwartz with an ivory leather interior. Fitted with the G50 five-speed gearbox

  • Documented service history and MOT certificates warrant the mileage of just 62,400

  • An Autolign inspection in 2005 regarding light damage to the offside front wing lists the car as a Category N on HPI records

  • Offered from a deceased estate that included Daytona, Dino and Testarossa Ferraris

The Porsche 911 (930) Turbo Cabriolet is the only 'normal production' Porsche cabriolet to be equipped with the air-cooled turbo engine. Moreover, only approximately 100 were produced and just 50 right-hand drive examples were built. Fitted with the 3.3-litre, air-cooled, turbo engine and later G50 5-speed gearbox, the car generates over 330 bhp and has a 0-60 time of approximately 5 seconds. Porsche Cars GB Ltd. have provided written confirmation that this car was originally their display car and was, naturally, very well specified at the time before subsequently being sold by AFN Chelsea on the Brompton Road, London SW6.

Offered to auction with a detailed history file including the documented service history and MOT Test Certificates that corroborate the indicated mileage, this lovely 930 has patently been very well cared for. In 2005, an insurance claim was made in relation to light damage to the offside front wing, however, the previous owner sought to have this work independently inspected by Autolign inspections of Mawsley in accordance with the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre resulting in the car being listed as a Category N on HPI records.

Previously sourced from a private collection, this beautifully presented example in gloss black with an ivory leather interior was fully serviced at Porsche Reading in 2017. At the same time, it was subject to the standard Porsche ‘111-point Vehicle Inspection’ (report with the car) and has travelled less than 260 miles since. In 2017, the car was bought by a young collector, James Harris, who stabled it alongside his 930 Speedster and Daytona, Dino and Testarossa Ferraris. Sadly, Mr Harris passed away in 2019 and we are offering the car on behalf of his estate at a very competitive guide price.

2005 Porsche Carrera GT 2005 Porsche Carrera GT

2005 Porsche Carrera GT

Lot #418 (Sale Order 19 of 35)

  • 5.7 litre, dry-sump V10-engine (producing around 612 bhp) and only 1,270 built

  • With a carbon-fibre chassis and weighing just 1,380kg, the Carrera GT would reach 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 205 mph

  • Finished in Basalt Black with matching black leather interior and just 4,300 miles from new

  • Fitted with the full carbon pack, £8,000 Porsche luggage set, full-body paint protection (£7,000)

  • German-delivered example, then spent the majority of its life in Italy. Regularly serviced by Pavoda Porsche

  • Now UK-registered and most recently maintained by Porsche Reading. Full-service history

Synonymous with Porsche's endurance racing programme particularly at Le Mans, where they had triumphed some 17 times, the design of the Porsche Carrera GT is firmly rooted in its motorsport lineage. After success in 1998 at the famous 24-hour race, a team of engineers started work on a new mid-engined V-10 model utilising advanced technologies and materials. However, the project was soon put on hold as the company decided to focus its energies in a different direction with the introduction of a new SUV and the development of the Porsche Cayenne. Fortunately, the Carrera GT project was kept alive, and a prototype was shown at the 2000 Paris Auto Show eliciting such a positive response that Porsche was virtually obliged to commit to a limited production run of 1,500 cars.

By the end of that production run in 2006, only 1,270 cars had been built, making it rarer still. With its 5.7-litre, dry-sump V-10 (producing around 612 brake horsepower) sitting low in the carbon-fibre chassis, the Carrera GT weighed in at 1,380kg and was capable of 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph. Open the driver's door and you are immediately aware that this is a totally focussed, seriously fast Porsche with the sense of function only just lightened by the Beechwood gear knob, a nod to the famous Porsche 917 and its racing past.

This, European-delivered example has covered just 4,300 miles from new and is finished in the dramatic combination of Basalt Black with a matching black leather interior. Having lived for the first year of its life in Germany, this Carrera GT then spent the following years in Italy, regularly being maintained during that period as confirmed by its detailed service records. Our vendor acquired this special car in January 2018 and it's been in his care ever since. Porsche Reading, the acknowledged GT specialists have looked after it and in March of this year carried out the annual maintenance service along with converting the lighting for UK roads, all of which is fully detailed in the accompanying history file.

Fitted with the full carbon pack and accompanied by both sets of keys, this superb, UK-registered, example has been treated to full-body paint protection (£7,000), boasts a set of bespoke fitted Porsche luggage, and is now ready for its next owner to cherish and enjoy.

With its removable top, howling naturally-aspirated V10, unmistakable styling, and class-leading driving dynamics, the Carrera GT offers unrivalled performance and excitement and, with its Italian counterpart, the Ferrari 'Enzo', fetching premium prices, these cars are to be taken seriously, with this wonderful example surely not to be missed.

1982 Porsche 928S 1982 Porsche 928S

1982 Porsche 928S

Lot #419 (Sale Order 20 of 35)

  • Supplied new on the 4th October 1982 to Porsche GB for the personal use of their MD

  • With its current owner since 1990 and just two previous keepers

  • Classically presented in its original Guards Red with a smart Tweed cloth interior

  • A true testament to 928 build quality with 220,000 miles completed in its lifetime

  • Invoices totalling a remarkable £130,000 corroborate this healthy mileage

  • Over £30,000 has been spent this year alone including a comprehensive engine rebuild

Critics immediately recognised the advances the 928 had made over the 911, and the car was universally praised as one of the greatest GT cars of all time. It handled, it was quick, it looked fantastic and it was comfortable. With the 928, Porsche created a serious long-distance grand touring car that could also tackle twisting B-roads with ease, thanks to super-direct steering, 50/50 weight distribution and a clever 'Weissach' rear axle that kept the car firmly planted on the road. Many testers found that their nerve ran out long before the 928's grip. If the 928 attracted any criticism at all, it was that it wasn't quite quick enough. The original 4.4-litre engine generated 240 bhp but, mated to a relatively heavy car, the performance didn't match the 911. So Porsche introduced the 928 S fitted with a 4.7-litre version of the engine and generating 310 bhp. This began to deliver the car's true potential, achieving a 0-60 mph time of around 7.0 seconds. But the larger engine's real trump card was its torque-rich in-gear acceleration around the mid-range - 50-70 mph sprints or indeed any acceleration from 3,000 rpm is in the supercar league.

VJM 954Y was supplied new on the 4th October 1982 to Porsche Cars GB as the personal transport of the then Managing Director Peter Bulbeck with whom it remained until June 1984. It was then sold to a Mr Richard Cleare of R H Cleare and Company Ltd. who was a World Sportscar Championship entrant with a Tiga-Porsche for several years in the mid-1980s and managed a few outings in IMSA GTP at Le Mans.

In November 1989, the current custodian commissioned Josh Sadler and Steve Carr from Autofarm to locate a 928S for him with certain key requirements including a full main dealer history, a manual gearbox, it had to be Guards Red and no sunroof! It didn’t take long, however, as VJM popped up at AFN Isleworth during December of that year as Richard Cleare had traded it in earlier. A deal was struck and after handing over £17,500 the car was in its new owner's hands with 77,000 miles on the odometer. At this point, it was fitted with a new clutch and cruise control and was destined to remain with its owner for the next 29 years. Throughout this long period, the 928 has been fastidiously maintained by him with expenditure exceeding a whopping £130,000 with just over £30,000 of that incurred this year.

Regular servicing was entrusted to Evans Halshaw of Warwick initially (1990-1994), subsequently to Porsche West Midlands of Brownhills (1994-2002) and then Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield from 2002 up until 2011. Loe Bank Motors, a leading 928 specialist, cared for the car for a period of time and fitted the rebuilt engine this year along with other works, and finally, Porsche Centre Bolton have been looking after this remarkable car up to date. The Porsche has been allowed the occasional rest with a few short spells on SORN and full details are in the history file.

The interior has been refreshed on a couple of occasions with the seats being re-trimmed in the correct period cloth, pleasingly, keeping the car in its original factory specification with the only variation from standard being the Porsche-supplied sports steering wheel. Our vendor has kept all the receipts from 2008 to date but did not keep the earlier ones due to the sheer volume of paperwork.

Standing ‘all-square’ and looking fresh, the car’s looks belie the 220,000 miles indicated on the odometer, a testament to the build quality of these great GT cars, regular maintenance, and caring ownership. It’s refreshing, and rather rare, to find an owner who knew exactly what he wanted, found it, and continues to use and look after it nearly three decades later. We understand that VJM continues to drive as well as it did back in 1990 and undoubtedly is up to the task of looking after its new owner for many more thousands of miles.

Being a manual gearbox, 928S, this venerable Classic Porsche is now super rare and this is a great opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of Porsche's landmark Grand Tourers.

It both looks and sounds like a 911 should and is “probably the best car I have ever owned” said Nick recently. He also knows that the car has had no accident damage or paint rectification of any kind from new and has benefitted from indoor winter storage, film protection covering the nose, and proper main dealer maintenance throughout. 1988 Porsche 928 S4 Sport Equipment 1988 Porsche 928 S4 Sport Equipment

1988 Porsche 928 S4 Sport Equipment

Lot #421 (Sale Order 22 of 35)

  • One of 42 Sport Equipment 928s, regarded as the UK's version of the Club Sport with factory driver-focused upgrades

  • A superbly presented example recently refinished in Guards Red and mechanically refreshed. Invoices on file amounting to £25,000

  • Delivered new to Williams F1 driver Tom Belso and owned for 24 years, supported by a detailed history folder

  • SE-spec includes uprated 320bhp 5.0L V8, manual short-shift transmission, a limited-slip differential and lightweight alloy wheels

Porsche's intended replacement for the 911 may not have achieved that particular goal, but it wasn't for a lack of performance or technological advancement. Critics immediately recognised the advances inherent in the 928 over the 911, and the car was universally praised as one of the greatest 'GT' cars of all time. It handled, it was quick, it looked fantastic and it was comfortable. With the 928, Porsche created a serious long-distance grand-touring car that could also tackle twisting B-roads with ease, thanks to super-direct steering, 50/50 weight distribution and a clever Weissach rear axle that kept the car firmly planted.

1988 saw further development in the story of Porsche's 928 with the launch of the SE featuring a more powerful uprated 5.0-litre V8 with 320bhp, but more importantly, the introduction of a 5-speed manual gearbox for those who wanted a more sporty driving experience. The SE specification also included twin exhausts, uprated engine and ECU, sports suspension and Limited-slip-differential - the ultimate 928 had arrived!

This smart 928 SE was delivered new to Williams F1 driver Tom Belso and first registered on 1 st August 1988 with the private registration number ‘15 TOM’. It was optioned with ‘Sport Equipment’, Guards Red paintwork and ‘Black Leather with pinstripe inserts’ sports seating. Clearly the 928 S4 SE proved itself as a well-rounded car that was easy to live with offering luxury, comfort and performance as it was 24 years later that a decision was made to part with the car. Only 42 Sport Equipment 928s were eventually to arrive in the UK, making this example today a rather rare sight and highly sought after by Porsche collectors and enthusiasts.

Our vendor, a private car collector and Porsche enthusiast, purchased the car in June 2016 and began a thorough schedule of works to return it to its best. Naturally, Porsche 928 specialists, Tech9 Motorsport, were entrusted to oversee the refurbishment which included a bare-metal repaint in its original colours and mechanical refresh to ensure the famously bullet-proof engine was in perfect working order. Today, the car presents beautifully and performs very well offering an interesting modern classic Porsche with a fascinating provenance that has been fully sorted by a highly regarded Porsche specialist.

Accompanying this 928 SE is a detailed history folder containing recent invoices to the sum of £25,000 for refurbishment works, a full account of the car’s service history from new, old MOTs, and period magazines featuring reviews on the 928 SE. Also present are the original book pack, service book and complete tool kit.

Writing in 911 & Porsche World in 2017, journalist Johnny Tipler compared the S4 SE to the 928 GT, concluding that the SE was “in a different league as far as handling is concerned: it’s precise, there’s no sense that it’s oversteering or understeering, and the power delivery is spot-on”.

1970 Porsche 911E 2.2 Coupe 1970 Porsche 911E 2.2 Coupe

1970 Porsche 911E 2.2 Coupe

Lot #422 (Sale Order 23 of 35)

  • The 911E shares much with top-spec 'S' but has more torque than either the 'T' or the 'S'

  • This beautiful matching-numbers car was originally delivered to the USA in January 1970

  • Recent complete nut and bolt restoration by Porsche specialists 'Theon Design' back to its original specifications (as shown on the Porsche COA)

  • The original 2.2-litre MFI flat-six engine has been rebuilt by Porsche specialists 'Strass' of Leeds

  • Fitted with Porsche's semi-automatic transmission known as ‘Sportomatic’

  • Simply stunning in Ivory with a black leatherette basket-weave interior

By MY 1970 (C Series) all 911 engines were now 2.2-litres which offered great flexibility, especially at low revs. This gave the 911E model a healthy 155bhp, but despite this lower power output compared to the 911S, the 911E was actually quicker during acceleration up to 99 mph. It shared the same mechanical twin-row Bosch fuel injection pumps as the 911S but aimed at a slightly less ‘sporting’ market, the ‘E’ could be specified with the four-speed 905/20 ‘Sportomatic’ gearbox, which first came to prominence when it was used to great success in the Porsche 911R Sportomatic which claimed victory in the ‘Marathon de la Route’ (84 hrs of Nürburgring) in 1967.

The Sportomatic system was pioneered by Porsche and is essentially a conventional synchromesh manual gearbox with a clutch that is engaged by a micro-switch in the gearstick knob rather than a separate pedal. Changing gear without a clutch pedal to depress resulted in very smooth changes and a more relaxed drive when compared to its manual siblings.

The car presented here is a matching-numbers, 1970 Porsche 911 2.2-litre MFI Sportomatic coupe, originally delivered to the USA in January 1970, where it remained until 2015. It was then exported to Holland and subsequently to the UK in 2017. Upon arrival here, it was the subject of a complete, exacting and fully documented restoration carried out for the most part and overseen by marque specialists ‘THEON DESIGN’ of Oxfordshire.

As with the rest of this beautiful 911, the original 2.2-litre, flat-six engine has been restored, in this case by another Porsche specialist, ‘Strass’ of Leeds. There are bills for an engine rebuild including replacing the cylinders and pistons, overhauling the MFI unit, and fitting new pipework and hoses. The list of refurbished or replaced parts is extensive and also includes a new alternator and starter motor. The engine has been prepared and detailed by THEON, the green ‘E’ engine cover has been refurbished back to as-new condition, and the whole engine bay looks as good as the exterior.

Finished in its original Ivory White paintwork, a great deal of love and care has been invested in the car’s bodywork with a total strip down to the bare metal, new panels, subsequent alignment and a painstaking professional respray.

The cabin too has been superbly returned to original specification. All parts have been removed and, where possible, retained albeit stripped, retrimmed or painted. The original Porsche Comfort seats were disassembled, and every part was overhauled. The internal seat frames were blasted then repainted and the foams have been replaced with original specification/shape to make them as comfortable as when they were new, prior to being re-trimmed in the original material. Likewise, the brightwork has all been re-chromed and looks superb. The headlining, carpets and upper post trim have all been replaced with as-new spec materials, whilst the dials were disassembled, checked, cleaned, refurbished, then reassembled. The original steering wheel has also been retrimmed. A period-correct Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio, in addition to a new Porsche dash centre speaker, has been sourced and installed in the car and the instrumentation and switchgear are clean, crisp and fully operational.

The suspension and brakes have also been fully refurbished.  All of the suspension, (including torsion bars, wishbones and dampers), and brake hardware has been stripped and assessed, then overhauled or replaced if damaged or corroded beyond repair.  Parts have been blasted and powder coated where possible and all the bushes and bearings have been replaced.

All new brake lines, discs and pads, with refurbished calipers, including new pistons, seals and bleed nipples were fitted as were a new brake master cylinder... Click here for more information.

1962 Porsche 356B T6 1600 Super 1962 Porsche 356B T6 1600 Super

1962 Porsche 356B T6 1600 Super

Lot #423 (Sale Order 24 of 35)

  • Supplied new to Sweden through Scania-Vabis Porsche in right-hand drive

  • Finished in Signal Red with a red leatherette interior, optioned with a chrome horn ring!

  • Never restored, retaining its original body panels and its original engine and transmission

  • A two-owner car in Sweden until 2014 then imported to the UK and registered with DVLA

  • Superb history file containing original service booklets, original Porsche folder and original Reutter key fob

We are very proud to offer this special original right-hand drive Porsche 356B T6 1600 Super which was delivered through Scania-Vabis Porsche in Sweden and sold to its first owner, a Mr Walter Edestrand, in February 1962. At that time, and until September 1967, Sweden drove on the left-hand side of the road, and consequently, cars were right-hand drive. Finished in Signal Red with a red leatherette interior, the car was a late 356B designation T6 with coachwork by Reutter of Stuttgart.

After three years, in April 1965, when the car had covered 50,095 km, it was purchased by a Mr Lars Linderholm who was to cherish this 356B for the next 49 years and cover a further 30,000 km. It’s a testament to the first two owners in Sweden that the car remains in the original unrestored condition it does to this day, retaining its original body panels and confirmed by the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, its original engine and transmission. The history file contains the original service booklets in the original Porsche folder and even the original Reutter key fob remains with the car. It is understood that the car was only used between April and October and stored in a heated underground garage during winter months, helping preserve it and the lovely patina evident today. The bodywork, panel gaps and panel fit are beautiful, the door closes with the lightest of touches, and the paintwork, interior and dashboard retain a gentle patina, lightly used and well cared for, an old family friend.

In 2014, the car was imported to the UK and registered with the DVLA being allocated registration ‘832 UYH’ and sold to a collector. Recent maintenance work by a marque specialist includes a new clutch, gearbox seals and a top-end engine rebuild. The car is now showing 90,440km on the odometer which we believe to be correct given its history and condition.

Rarely do cars of this calibre in such beautiful unrestored condition come to market and, being an original right-hand drive 356B 1600 Super, this is an exquisite opportunity to own an exceptional car.

A remarkable car in unrestored condition - an original Swedish right-hand drive delivered 356B

2008 Porsche 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet 2008 Porsche 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet

2008 Porsche 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet

Lot #424 (Sale Order 25 of 35)

  • A rare and desirable, UK right-hand drive, Gen 1.5 with a manual gearbox

  • In Metalic Basalt Black, with full Red Carrera natural leather and a black hood

  • Lovely specification including the desirable Sports Chrono Package

  • Only 36,000 miles. Full Porsche service history with seven stamps in the book

  • Lots of history and in fantastic condition

  • These cars are very rare, particularly with a manual gearbox

The Porsche 911 needs little in the way of introduction and the signature model of the road car line-up has, since 1975, always been the Turbo. When it first appeared, the 911 Turbo was something to be feared. Drivers clung on to this fearsome thing, its 258bhp making it one of the quickest production cars on sale. Each successive generation saw the 911 Turbo become more powerful and better resolved. By the time the water-cooled '996' generation car appeared in 1999, the Turbo had become genuinely civilised; rocket ship fast but civilised nonetheless.

The '997' generation 911 was an evolution of the 996 with many changes designed to improve quality while retaining that car's winning blend of performance and usability. Although the 911 (997) Carrera models appeared in 2004, it wasn't until 2006 that the Turbo version was launched. First shown at that year's Geneva Show, it was initially offered as a coupé (and later as a cabriolet) with an impressive specification. The Mezger 3.6-litre engine was continued, now producing 480bhp at 6,000 rpm and featuring VarioCam Plus and a pair of clever Borg-Warner variable geometry turbochargers-a totally new technology for Porsche. With a manual gearbox, the 997 Turbo requires just 3.9 seconds to reach 62 mph and will go on to 193 mph. Power is transmitted to all four wheels with Porsche Traction Management (PTM) which uses an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch. This intelligent technology provides variable drive to each axle. The front/rear split is continuously adjusted based on current road conditions and driver inputs. Although biased towards the rear, the front receives more power whenever the situation requires.

The car on offer here today is a very rare and desirable UK-supplied, right-hand drive, 997 (Gen 1.5) Turbo Cabriolet fitted with the desirable manual gearbox and is finished in Metallic Basalt Black with a full red leather interior and a matching black hood. 38,000 miles is all that’s been covered with the three previous owners and this lovely 911 has only ever been serviced by Porsche Centre Solihull and Porsche Centre Leicester. Indeed, there are seven stamps in the accompanying service book which, considering the low mileage, shows just how well looked after this example has been in its short life.

The ‘Options List’ was freely ticked when ordered including full natural leather, park assist, cruise control and the must-have Sports Chrono Package Plus. This is a very rare car, especially with the desirable manual gearbox, and is ready for its next owner to enjoy the serious open-top thrills on offer at a rather sensible guide.

In the early days of the 911, the car continued to be developed and improved on an annual basis and the 1969 C-series models saw a huge step forward in the car's evolution, with a longer wheelbase, wider wheels, low profile tyres, improved lighting, trim and ventilation, stronger suspension and brakes, plus the introduction of the excellent, race-derived, CD ignition and mechanical fuel injection.  These advances were consolidated in the forthcoming 2.2-litre range.

The D-series 911 models were produced from August 1970 until July 1971, and for model-year 1970, the engines of all 911s were increased to 2,195cc.  The 911S 2.2 was fitted with the SOHC flat 6-cylinder Type 911/02 engine, with an uprated power output of 180bhp at 6,500rpm, giving it a claimed top speed of 138 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 7.0 seconds.  It had a 5-speed manual transaxle, 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes and 4-wheel independent suspension. The iconic 2.2 911S was immortalised by Steve McQueen in the opening scenes of the cult movie Le Mans, McQueen is seen charging around the French country roads with the glorious sound of its flat-six, creating arguably the most memorable scene of the film. The 2.2S stayed in production for just 1969-71 and with fewer numbers manufactured than the 2.4S.

This lovely 1971, 911S 2.2 has been with our vendor since 1991 and has been used by him and his wife ever since, mainly as their daily driver, and regularly serviced by Porsche service centres near his place of work in London and his home near Exeter. Most recently it has been kept in Devon and only used occasionally weather permitting. Whilst in his ownership it has been subject to partial bodywork restorations, firstly in 2000 which saw a £15,000 spend with KD Motor Engineers in Cheshire and secondly in 2015 which saw £30,000 spent with the work organised by Porsche Exeter. The result is a very honest and eminently usable 911S which could certainly be enjoyed as is. Our vendor contacted Porsche Reading to gain confirmation that it retains the original engine and by the time of the sale it may come with the Porsche Letter of Conformity. It has had six previous owners and may have been subject to a colour change at some time.

With 911S 2.2s becoming increasingly rare in the market place, this much-enjoyed example would make a sensible investment or is simply ready to be driven as intended.

2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4

2015 Porsche Cayman GT4

Lot #426 (Sale Order 27 of 35)

  • A rare, right-hand drive , Cayman GT4 with only 4,300 miles from new. Purchased by our vendor through Romans in December 2015

  • Superbly finished in Carrera White with platinum grey stitched black hide

  • 'Sport Chrono' option, PCM, sound package, heated seats and the carbon interior pack

  • Most recently serviced by Porsche Centre Silverstone in 2017

  • Will be supplied with a new set of tyres and ready to go. Very competitively guided

Positioned between the Cayman GTS and the 911 GT3, the Cayman GT4 was launched in 2015 and built at Porsche’s Weissach ‘Motorsportzentrum’ using a stiffened and strengthened Cayman bodyshell as a starting point and lowered and fitted with as many GT3 parts as possible. The front axle and suspension are borrowed from the 911 GT3 although the rear axle and forged aluminium double wishbone suspension are completely new. Dampers are taken from the GT3 as is the electric steering system which is equipped with new software which, according to one much respected journalist, is “the most perfect electronic power steering system you’ll ever use”.

Stopping power is provided by standard steel brakes, or the optional carbon-ceramics from the GT3. The forged 20in alloy wheels are new and are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. The rear 295/30 ZR20 tyres are bespoke, but the front 245/35 ZR20s are borrowed from the GT3 as they apparently were “a perfect match”.

Mounted midships is a reworked version of the Carrera S’ 3.8-litre, flat-six engine, producing 385bhp at 7400rpm and 310 lb/ft at 4750-6000rpm. It is hooked up to a modified version of the Cayman GTS’ six-speed manual gearbox and although a PDK dual-clutch automatic was considered, it was never used, meaning the Cayman GT4 is manual only.

The goal was to create a “zero lift car”, but thanks to the extensive aerodynamic and cooling package on the car – which includes a front splitter, a larger front grille and increased frontal air intakes, side air intakes, two rear spoilers and a fully functional diffuser – the Cayman GT4 produces as much downforce at speed (100kg) as the 911 GT3.

Inside, the steering wheel is new for the GT4 and the heated sports seats are taken from the 918 and trimmed in both leather and Alcantara as are the door trims. Standard equipment includes Red brake calipers, Sports exhaust, Electric heated mirrors, LED rear lights, PASM, PTM, Grey top-tint screen, and Black rear wing supports.

This 2015 Cayman GT4 is finished in Carrera White with 20” GT4 alloys painted in Satin Black and was optioned from new with PCM, Carbon interior package, Sport Chrono package, Bi-Xenon headlights including PDLS and the Sound Package Plus. It was first registered on 16/10/2015, has been enjoyed by two previous owners, and has currently covered 4,277 miles. There is an invoice for £590 in the file from Porsche Centre Silverstone dated 13/10/2017 that relates to an ‘Intermediate Service’ and we understand that the car will be fitted with two new tyres prior to the sale.

The sublime Cayman GT4 displays such startling poise and fluency that it may well be considered in the future to be one of the best handling Porsches ever, suggesting that this lovely, low-mileage, sensibly guided-example might be rather a shrewd purchase.

1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Targa 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Targa

1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Targa

Lot #427 (Sale Order 28 of 35)

  • A UK-supplied, right-hand drive, 911 3.2 Carrera Targa first registered on 1 st August 1989

  • Finished in Baltic Blue over Linen Leather with desirable 5-speed G50 gearbox

  • Comprehensive service history and supplied with service book and tools

  • Supplied with a UK V5c and an MOT until 28th April 2020

There are very few cars that can boast a history anything like that of the Porsche 911. This was the gem of a sports car that simply blew everything away back in 1964. Since then, the 911 has evolved over the years to become one of the world's true motoring legends. Without doubt, part of the appeal of this iconic model is that its soul has always remained true to the original design. Porsche started to manufacture the 'Targa' top 911 from the mid-sixties and kept it in production in various forms right up to the current Porsche 997 Targa. During the 911 Carrera 3.2 production era, all the non-Turbo variants - Coupe, Targa and Cabriolet - were designated ' 911 Carrera' and offered in standard and sports options. Cars from this era are powered by the familiar air (and oil) cooled, horizontally opposed, flat six-cylinder, 'boxer', 3,164cc engine producing 231 bhp and 284 N.m of torque, and fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Ignition and injection are managed by the Bosch Motronic system providing efficient and economical performance.

This particular 3.2-litre Carrera Targa was registered to its first owner in the UK on 1 st August 1989. Finished in Baltic Blue with a Linen Leather interior, the car sports body-coloured Fuchs wheels and has the desirable G50 five-speed gearbox. The original rear spoiler was removed as the owner preferred the way the car looked without it, but it is included with the sale.

The accompanying history file contains the service book which records 22 services since 1989, predominantly by Official Porsche Centres or marque specialists, and in 1999 the engine had a top-end overhaul at AFN at which point it had covered 90,495 miles. The most recent service was carried out at marque specialist JZM in April of this year.

Now having covered a total of 102,762 miles, the car is supplied with a UK V5c and is MOT tested until late April 2020. Targa-topped cars from the late eighties are probably the most affordable way into Classic Porsche ownership and this lovely Baltic Blue Carrera would be a great start.

A smart 911 3.2 at an attractive estimate

1961 Porsche 356B T6 1961 Porsche 356B T6

1961 Porsche 356B T6

Lot #428 (Sale Order 29 of 35)

  • Privately owned since April 1990. First time offered for sale in nearly 30 years
  • Left-hand drive, 356 B T6 1600, bought from California by our vendor and shipped here shortly afterwards
  • Reported to have never been fully restored. Painted 30 years ago, now showing a gentle patina
  • Very little use in recent years and guided competitively for such a sought after model

This rare and desirable, left-hand drive 356 B T6 has been owned by our private vendor since April 1990 after he purchased it in California and then imported it to the UK. He describes the Porsche as a genuine ‘black plate’ car and he used it regularly up until 1993 when he then took it off the road as he moved to London. It remained dry stored for the following 25 years until last year when he recommissioned the 356 himself, putting it through an MOT and covering around 700 miles.

He reports that “This 356 has never been fully restored, and has only had remedial work done if necessary. It’s a very original body with numbers matching doors, hinge cover plates, front hood and engine cover. The rest of the body is also reported to be original - floors, longitudinals, wing stays, horn brackets, the wiring loom tabs etc. The only exception is the battery/spare wheel well (leaking battery) but proficiently repaired long ago. Bumpers, trim, the fuel tank specific to T6Bs and most other components have remained with this venerable little 356 since it left the factory. The engine and gearbox, however, are not the originals but are period correct. Other numbers on the car are the carburettors, seats and window winder mechanisms, all date code-matched to 7/61. The VIN number stamped behind the spare wheel also matches the secret ‘micro VIN’ stamped into the ‘A’ post behind the right hinge plate. The front seats have been re-trimmed in leather but the carpets were replaced (originals retained) with new floor mats. The Slate Grey paint was also refreshed and although this was done almost 30 years ago now, it has developed a lovely patina increasingly appreciated by many Porsche enthusiasts. This is an unrestored car because it’s never needed one”.

Coming to the market for the first time in nearly 30 years this is a very honest, pretty and usable T6 that is estimated remarkably sensibly considering the rarity and fun on offer.

1980 Porsche 911 SC 1980 Porsche 911 SC

1980 Porsche 911 SC

Lot #429 (Sale Order 30 of 35)

  • In 1978, Porsche introduced the new version of the 911, called the '911SC'. Porsche reintroduced the SC designation for the first time since the 356SC

  • The 'SC' stands for 'Super Carrera'. It featured a 3.0-litre aluminium engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a 5-speed 915 gearbox

  • This is a matching-numbers, fully restored, UK right-hand drive car, believed to have had just two owners in the last 24 years doing a total of only 10,000 miles in this time

  • This car has had a bare metal respray, the engine has had a top end rebuild whilst the bottom end was deemed to be sound; the gearbox has been refreshed at marque specialists Historika, along with the renewal of the brakes and front sub-frame

In 1978, Porsche introduced the new version of the 911, called the '911SC' with the “SC' moniker standing for 'Super Carrera'. According to Porsche Club GB, the 911 SC is a ‘landmark 911’ because it was the first Porsche model developed to appeal to a wider market than just the enthusiastic driver and is the 911 that launched the model’s reputation for excellent durability and build quality. Two factors above all else contributed to that reputation - the use from 1976 of a fully zinc-coated steel bodyshell and the adoption of a normally aspirated version of the Turbo's more robust 3.0-litre aluminium engine. The earlier 2.7-litre unit had been recognised as being at the limit of its development and the new Type 930 engine reset the design parameters for the flat-6's development potential. The move to an aluminium engine was to regain case reliability, something missing for many years with magnesium and, when combined with the well-proven Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a 5-speed 915 gearbox, it developed into a very flexible, torquey powerplant. Originally power output was 180bhp, later 188bhp and then, by MY 1980, it was increased to 204bhp, good for 146 mph.

The SC also introduced the brake servo, but this was still a physically demanding car and whilst the pedal had lost its previous wooden feel to be replaced with a softer touch, it still needed care to prevent front wheel lock-up.

The car presented here is a 1980, UK-supplied, right-hand drive 911 SC Coupe and is understood to be a UK ‘Sport’ model (although this will require confirmation), the most sought-after variant with Fuchs alloys, front lip spoiler, 'whale-tail' rear spoiler, Bilstein Sport shock absorbers and ‘Sport’ seats.

According to our vendor, the car has only had two owners in the last 24 years, covering a total of just 10,000 miles in this time. It has been on SORN for the last 3 years and done no more than 500 miles in the last 5 years, although it has been started and run up every month but not driven.

The car has benefited from a bare metal respray, whilst the engine has had a top end rebuild and the gearbox was refreshed at Porsche specialists ‘Historika’, along with the renewal of the brakes and front subframe. The recent recommissioning work included the fitting of a Porsche ‘short- shifter’, a new clutch, new discs, calipers and pads all round, all new Bilstein suspension, a refurbished front subframe, reconditioned steering rack, refurbished air conditioning and refurbished alloy wheels with new Bridgestone S02 tyres.

Often at a tempting guide price, the 911 SC model has been somewhat of a ‘sleeper’ but is tipped by many to gain the recognition it deserves.

1991 Porsche 944 Turbo Cabriolet 1991 Porsche 944 Turbo Cabriolet

1991 Porsche 944 Turbo Cabriolet

Lot #430 (Sale Order 31 of 35)

  • One of only 100 right-hand drive Turbo Cabriolets with only 64,000 miles from new

  • Good service history, the last service being carried out less than 1,000 miles ago

  • Fitted with a Promax Stage 2 performance upgrade which delivers some 300bhp

  • The bodywork, interior and mechanics appear to be in good order

  • A rare modern classic worthy of the serious Porsche collector

Following the international success of their nimble 924, Porsche designed an all-alloy, 2.5-litre inline-four for their new 944 which they planned to introduce in 1982. Their talented engineers were able to produce a very smooth running four-cylinder engine by utilising two counter-rotating balance shafts running at twice engine speed. These carry eccentric weights which produce inertial forces that balance out the unbalanced secondary forces, resulting in a four-cylinder engine that feels as smooth as a six.

Cosmetically, the 944's bodywork was revised with wider wheel arches (similar to that of the 924 Carrera GT), a fresh interior and upgrades to the braking and suspension systems. With greater visual presence and the performance to match, better handling, stopping power and more creature comforts, the 944 was a natural step forward.  A 'turbo' version of the 944 was always on the cards, and the forced induction boosted the 2.5-litre engine by a healthy 60bhp, necessitating an upgraded clutch and gearbox. The chassis was further developed and thicker anti-roll bars and four-pot brake callipers were fitted to deal with the significantly increased performance. Externally, a smoother nose panel and a larger rear spoiler distinguished it from its lesser siblings.

In February 1991, (the final year of 944 production), Porsche released the 944 Turbo Cabriolet which combined the Turbo S' 250bhp engine with the strengthened cabriolet body built by the ASC-American Sunroof Company at Weinsberg. Porsche initially announced that 600 would be made, but ultimately 625 were built, with just 100 examples produced in right-hand drive for the UK, Japanese, Australian and South African markets. This then is a very rare and capable model, with a 0-62 mph time of under 6 seconds, and was produced for just one year, with only 32 examples believed to still reside in the UK

Offered here is a lovely, UK-supplied Porsche 944 Turbo Cabriolet finished in Cobalt Blue with a smart blue leatherette interior and black hood. Supplied by the Porsche Center in Reading, the options included sports seats with electric height adjustment, protective side mouldings and a sound package. It comes with the obligatory Porsche Letter of Authenticity and the service book contains sixteen service stamps and invoices showing expenditure that has been lavished on this attractive Porsche throughout its 61,000 miles.

Still undervalued in the market place, this example ticks all the boxes as an everyday classic guided correctly to ensure that it's likely to be a decent investment opportunity.

1988 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Clubsport 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Clubsport

1988 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Clubsport

Lot #431 (Sale Order 32 of 35)

  • One of only 53 Clubsports in right-hand drive from only 340 produced worldwide

  • Superbly presented in Grand Prix White with Guards Red Fuchs alloys and decals

  • Only 59,000 miles. Cossetted in a significant private collection since 2011

  • Amazingly offered at No Reserve. A rare and desirable 1980s Porsche. One for the serious collector

When the 1988 model year 911 was launched in September 1987, Porsche also introduced a lightweight high-performance version aimed at the firm's hardcore customers. No doubt inspired by the legendary 2.7 RS of 1972 this new Coupe-only car was the first to adopt Porsche's now revered Club Sport designation. The CS was a stripped out version of the 3.2, made some 100kg lighter than most by stripping out non-essentials like the rear seats, sound deadening, electric windows, and even the passenger's sun visor. The engine revs more freely, and 300rpm higher, thanks to lightweight inlet valves and a reprogrammed ECU. Just 340 examples were made, and only 53 of those were in right-hand-drive for the UK market. Available in the UK in any colour you like, as long as what you like is Grand Prix White with red wheel centres. Unsurprisingly with more power and 38kg less weight to lug around, the Club Sport instantly became the quickest normally aspirated 911 available with 0-60mph requiring a mere 5.1 seconds whilst top speed rose to 156mph. The transmission featured revised 4th and 5th gear ratios and a limited-slip differential. Bilstein sports suspension was specified and Fuchs alloy wheels, 7' front and 8' rear.

This exceptional 911 Club Sport was supplied new by AFN Guildford in October 1988. It has covered fewer than 60,000 miles from new, which is supported by every MOT Certificate and the original service book showing official stamps to 16,100 miles in 1991 followed by marque specialists since. The history file also includes a host of bills from 1990 up to the last recorded service in October 2010 when it was fitted with a 2.7RS stainless steel exhaust. The file also includes an invoice for paintwork and repairs to screen corners carried out by Autofarm in June 2000 at a cost of £2,107. Invoices explain that the bumper, bonnet, front wings and screen were removed for this work to be carried out correctly and to a high standard. The result is perfect and the car has no unsightly evidence of paintwork having been applied. The car was purchased from Silverstone Auctions in 2011 and has remained in a private collection ever since with limited use and, naturally, appropriate maintenance.

2008 Porsche 911 (997) GT2 Clubsport

Lot #432 (Sale Order 33 of 35)

  • Very rare 997 GT2 Clubsport (Manual) in Ruby Red Metallic with 19' GT3 alloys

  • Originally supplied by Porsche Malaysia and UK-registered in February 2019

  • Serious numbers; 3.6-litre, 523bhp, 0-62mph-3.7 seconds, 210 miles per hour

  • 6-speed manual transmission, Carbon-ceramic brakes, PASM, PSM

  • Nomex Clubsport Trim, 6-point drivers harness, carbon folding bucket seats, air-con, multi-function wheel

  • Only 9,555 miles from new with a documented service history

  • Raw, pure and exciting. Undoubtedly a future classic

The prospect of combining the most powerful turbo engine in their range at the time, with a manual gearbox and mounting them in a rear-wheel drive, lightweight 911 was the inspiration for the, rather special, Porsche 911 GT2. At the same time, Porsche upgrade and modify the suspension and brakes, increase the engine output whilst lightening and removing interior components to create the ultimate driver's version of that particular model. This recipé has been used with the 993, 996 and 997 versions of their iconic 911 model.

This car is the GT2 version of the 911 (997), introduced in 2008 and produced until 2012. The engine uses twin, variable-geometry, water-cooled turbochargers producing a thumping 523bhp and 500 lbs foot of torque, leading to a maximum speed in excess of 210mph and a 0-60mph time of just 3.6 seconds!  Essentially it's a 997 Turbo with more power fed through the rear wheels only, a track orientated suspension and brake set up, and a GT3 interior. To be taken seriously. Additionally, for those customers who wanted to go a little further, a Clubsport Package (M003) was a no-cost option and offered fire-retardant cloth-lined Recaros, six-point race harnesses, a bolt-in rear roll cage (front section supplied separately), fire extinguisher and a battery cut-off switch.

**Regretfully Withdrawn**1989 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo LE

Lot #433 (Sale Order 34 of 35)

**Regretfully Withdrawn**
  • Only of only 53 ‘last of the line’ Porsche 911 (930) Turbo LEs. Highly desirable G50 5-speed gearbox

  • An original, UK-supplied, right-hand drive example with only 30,800 miles from new

  • Finished in Grand Prix White with a Linen leather interior

  • Accompanied by a comprehensive service history, Certificate of Authenticity, original tyre inflator and spare key

  • Only available on the UK market and now represents an exclusive ownership proposition

First launched at the 1973 Paris Auto Show, with production commencing in 1975, the Porsche 911 ‘930' Turbo was a genuine Supercar that came to define both the 1970s and 80s and was one of the fastest production cars available at that time. The basic engine underpinnings came from the Carrera 2.7RS with its capacity increased to 3.0 Litres and, of course, turbocharged with technology gleaned from Porsche's 917/30 Can-Am programme. The bodywork came in for special treatment resulting in one of the most aggressive looking Porsches ever made with its wide arches and impressive rear 'whale-tail' and the brakes were borrowed directly from the Porsche 917 race car. At the end of production in 1989, Porsche decided to mark the occasion by creating a very special Limited Edition 930 - the ultimate Turbo. A small number of the last assembly batch of standard 3.3-litre cars were taken off the line and sent to the 'Exclusive' team at Zuffenhausen to be finished by hand.

With just 53 of these cars produced, one for each UK dealership in 1989, a host of bespoke options were offered including colour-coded wheels, top tinted windscreen, a choice of special colours for interior and exterior, rear quarter air intake ducts, electric sunroof, heated multi-adjust electric seats, and finally gold ‘Turbo' lettering stitched behind the seats. Each car also featured a Gold Plaque on the centre console and a Gold gear knob top as recognition of the LE's place in Porsche 911 history.
