Original WW2 M35 German Helmet-With Liner/Chin Strap-SS Decals Lot #128a (Sale Order 149 of 240) First of all, this is an original M35 helmet with original liner and chin strap. The shell is maker/size stamped Q64 and has an early 3 digit lot number of 761. The liner is still supple and is named-It is hard to make out but appears to be a non German name-Possibly foreign volunteer? As stated earlier, Shell, liner and chin strap and exterior apple green finish are original. The SS and Party decals both have spots of lacquer that was not wiped off when decals were applied and the lacquer has darkened with age. Possibly from an SS training barracks? Possibly field applied? Why mess up a good Heer double decal? We have shown this helmet to a handful of advanced helmet collectors that we trust and have had different assessments, So, we will leave the final decision to the bidders! Please bid based on your own knowledge, expertise and/or research-In excellent overall condition.
