This is a WWII U.S. Navy WWII era Survival knife. It features a 4 5/8-inch spear blade, 5-inch saw blade and an overall length of 15-5/8" when both blades are extended. This model was manufactured by Colonial Knives. Comes with the rare web pouch AND the original box. It is in very good condition to excellent condition - probably unissued.

This 13" long US Navy Pre-Civil War era Eagle-Head Midshipmans Dirk is in good condition with a 9" blade. It has a yellowed bone grip, brass guard and pommel connected by a chain. Blade engraved "Pure Steel" and flourishes. Very nice leather and brass sheath.

This 10" long US Navy Midshipmans Dirk is in good condition with a 6" blade. It has a yellow-lacquered wood grip, steel "S" guard and pommel. Blade is engraved with anchor and flourishes. Many of these European dirks were used by the US navy. Unfortunately no sheath.

This antique French Naval Triangle-Blade Boarding Knife is in very good condition. Made from cut-down earlier socket bayonets, it was a deadly stabbing weapon. Many ended up in US Navy use during the pre-Civil War period. It measures 12" long overall and has a provision for a lanyard. These were re-issued for use during WWI..

This 1852-dated Henry Ashton produced US Military Model 1842 .54 Caliber Percussion Pistol is in good to very good condition with a fair bore. Markings are worn, but legible and it has brass furniture. There is a very faint anchor on the barrel by the nipple - less than 300 of these were used by the Navy. It is complete with swivel ram rod and is mechanically sound. Only 6,000 of these were manufactured.

This 1845-dated Ames produced US Navy Model 1842 .54 Caliber Percussion Pistol is in good to very good condition with a fair bore. Markings are lightly pitted, but legible and it has brass furniture. It is complete with swivel ram rod and is mechanically sound. Only 2,000 of these were manufactured, this example is serial numbers "64".
US Navy Whitney Civil War era .36 Caliber 2nd Model Percussion Revolver - no FFL required (XJE1)

This US Navy Whitney Civil War era .36 Caliber 2nd Model Percussion Revolver is in very good condition with a good bore. There is no finish, the barrel in anchor proofed and it is mechanically functional. The serial number is 20234.
This double-action Civil War era Massachusetts Arms Co. Adams Patent Percussion Revolver is in very good condition with good bore. Only about 1000 were made, often seen in photographs used by early war Virginia Confederate Cavalry. It is mechanical fine, though possible refinished. Sliding safety lock is missing.
This Richards Conversion of the Colt M1860 Army Revolver, .44 Caliber Centerfire, is in very good condition with scattered salt and peppering pitting. Grips have a nice patina, just showing some honest wear. Matching numbers, action works but is a bit sticky. A very nice, completely untouched and original, example, of this very desirable early Colt metallic cartridge single action. Serial number is 32229.

The barrel is 7" with the anchor, the bore is good though there may be a ring in the rifling. Markings are lightly faded but legible and there are various inspector marks.

Markings are faded but legible, the stock was possibly re-placed at one time with a American example, nice bell-shaped 21" barrel and it is rack-numbered 14. Overall length is 38". Rack marks indicate possible US Naval use.

This early US Model 1795 .69 Caliber Percussion Conversion Musket is in fair to good condition. The lock markings are faded and illegible. This was converted to percussion using a bolster system similar to several Confederate Civil War modifications. This is consistent to the period ramrod and condition. No percussion nipple.
RARE US Navy Model 1816 Naval Boarding Pike from the USS Costitution ("Old Ironsides) - (XJE)

This RARE US Navy Model 1816 Naval Boarding Pike came from the famed USS Costitution ("Old Ironsides) during a 1929, when it was auctioned off to raise money for her refit. It comes with a letter of from the current owner Captain James D. Eldridge (ret) stating it was obtained from Norm Flayderman in 1972. Flayderman obtained the pike from the collection of Rodney Brown, who had picked it up at the original auction. It is an original US Navy Type III Boarding Pike in very good condition consistent with it's age, with slight rusting & light pitting. It comes with the original 7-8 foot wood shaft, the letter of authenticity, and reference material including a copy of the original Flayderman catalog page. Four sided blade, and correct carved ball butt. Estimated in is worth in excess of $5000. Here is an unique opportunity to own a piece of US Navy history!

A very early original US Naval Revolutionary War era Officer Sword in very good condition. Similar swords were used by both the British and American Navies, but this one matches example found up near Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Blade is 28" long with an overall length of 35". Nice hand-engraved anchor motif on the pommel, nice wood grip, brass guard, but no scabbard.
A similar sword was listed on e-bay for an asking price of $2,800!

Cutlasses similar to this US or British Navy M1810 Figure 8 Naval Cutlass came out between 1790 and 1815 and were usually unmarked. We believe it is US Navy because of the somewhat crude manufacture. The cutlass is 34" overall with a 29" blade. It is in fair to good condition with oxidation like many of these cutlasses.

USS Vogelgesang (DD-862) was a Gearing-class destroyer in the United States Navy. She was named for Rear Admiral Carl Theodore Vogelgesang USN. Vogelgesang alternated operations along the United States East Coast and in the Caribbean Sea with the Second Fleet with deployments to the Mediterranean with the Sixth Fleet, underwent an extensive Fleet Rehabilitation and Modernization (FRAM) overhaul at the Boston Naval Shipyard before serving as part of the Project Gemini recovery force which picked up an unmanned experimental Gemini spacecraft in January 1965, and served as plane guard for carriers on "Yankee Station" in the Tonkin Gulf, participated in "Sea Dragon" operations, patrolled on search and rescue duties and carried out naval gunfire support missions during the Vietnam War. The motto translates as "Rough & Ready", and it measures 24" x 30". Recommend local pick-up...as glass does not ship well.

This 1904-dated brass and steel US Navy Souvenir of the USS Connecticut (BB-18) is in very good condition. USS Connecticut, the fourth United States Navy ship to be named after the state of Connecticut, was the lead ship of her class of six battleships. Her keel was laid in 1903; launched in 1904, Connecticut was commissioned in 1906, as the most advanced ship in the US Navy. The gunnery model measures 2" x 3".

This US Navy Springfield M1867 .50-45 caliber Rolling-Block Carbine is in good condition with a very good bore. 23.25" round barrel, S/N 4015. Blued and case hardened finish, walnut stock and forend secured by single barrel band. Right side of receiver inspected with a P / F.C.W. over an anchor and FCW cartouche are present in the wood. Correct L-shaped leaf rear sight, fixed blade front sight. A very scarce US Navy carbine, with only 5,095 being produced and 5,000 being accepted by the US Navy. Stock looks to be a modified rifle stock.

I would like to see a follow-up on the current M9 General Officer pistols, which are briefly introduced in the final chapter.
