Japanese Naval Officer's Dress Sword

Japanese Naval Officer's Dress Sword. This antique is of the type used during the Russo-Japanese War and WWII. This is a very fine example with intricate brass fittings on the leather-covered wood scabbard matching the brass hinged D style hilt. The ray skin handle is in very good condition, with the brass wraps still very tight and intact. The hinge closure is still in perfect working order, and the highly polished blade is in very fine condition. This is a machine made sword with Navy and Tokyo maker markings as pictured, and highly sought after as a military collectible. Measures 31-1/4" (32-3/4" sheathed), with a 26" blade.

One pistol has a small chip on the left hand grip by the frame. Barrel length is 3" on both pistols.

Leather shows some wear and wire on handle is intact. Both sides of the pommel show gold gilting. Length of sword is 35-1/4" (sheathed 36-1/2"), blade is 28-1/4".

US Navy 1852 Model Sword. Very good condition. 28" double etched blade with naval anchors. No maker marks. White plastic handle is very good. The guard shows some age. Gold knot. Leather scabbard with brass fittings is very good.
