1928 PACKARD 526 SEDAN 1928 PACKARD 526 SEDAN

1928 PACKARD 526 SEDAN

Lot #976 (Sale Order 976 of 381)

The 1928 Packard 526 was powered by a 288ci 6-cylinder engine mated to a manual transmission. The 526 offered here is a handsome 5-passenger sedan that received a very high-quality, body-off restoration in the 1990s and has since been maintained in superb condition in the care of the same family. Documents and photographs reveal this was a solid, honest car before its extensive restoration. With the body off of the chassis, restorers stripped and refinished the frame in gloss black and carefully refurbished the mechanical components before installation. Period-appropriate colors suit the understated and elegant factory coachwork, which features a rear-mounted spare wheel to maintain a clean, uninterrupted flow of the fenders. Painted steel disc wheels tie together with the contrasting-color window surrounds, and red pinstripes to complement those on the body. Accessories include a chrome radiator shell, Moto-Meter, radiator stone guard, fan-style exhaust deflector and cast Packard-script running board boot scrapers. The interior is equally as impressive as the body and paint, with Taupe fabric upholstery used on the seats and door cards. The quality materials and detailing of the passenger compartment reveal the level of care and research paid to the restoration. Rear passengers enjoy a roomy bench seat, and period-correct roller blinds on the rearmost windows offer up shade and privacy. Packard’......s 288ci inline-6 shared the same underlying architecture and high levels of refinement with the big L-head eight. Restored with both show and touring in mind, the engine is well-detailed in factory-correct finishes and shows moderate signs of use since the restoration. Similarly, the chassis and suspension components present in excellent condition, belying the age of the restoration. This cheerful and attractive 526 sedan would be a marvelous foray into the world of classic touring, thanks to its approachable size and solid performance. The 526 is recognized as a Full Classic by the CCCA and is eligible for CARavan tours. In the time since its high-quality restoration, it is an excellent choice for regular enjoyment on family outings, club events or regional shows.

1941 PLYMOUTH DELUXE CUSTOM SEDAN 1941 PLYMOUTH DELUXE CUSTOM SEDAN

1941 PLYMOUTH DELUXE CUSTOM SEDAN

Lot #981 (Sale Order 981 of 381)

This custom 1941 Plymouth Deluxe extends far beyond the average Resto-Mod build. While the bulk of the prewar Plymouth utilitarian vehicles shape remains, its transformation into a bona fide street rod is apparent both at first glance and from behind the wheel. With over 8,000 hours invested, it's safe to say that no expense was spared. The all-steel body is sprayed in PPG Moss Green paint with Spanish Olive trim, and the rear fenders have been widened 4 inches to enhance the car's street-rod persona. Stylish Chevy HHR taillights adorn the rear. The Chrysler Flathead 6 was removed in favor of a power plant with a tad more grunt: a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine. Smooth highway cruising is made possible by pairing the HEMI to a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The Plymouth's air-ride suspension is height adjustable for ride quality and that slammed look. An Art Morrison C5 Corvette chassis and C4 Corvette independent rear suspension ensure the HEMI's horsepower is efficiently transferred to the ground. Corvette power disc brakes in the front and rear provide more than adequate stopping power. Oversized 14-inch drilled rotors in the front and 12-inch drilled rotors in the rear can be seen peeking behind staggered Boyd wheels wrapped in Toyo rubber. It has an extreme amount of detail inside with Olive Drab leather seats and a suede headliner, 12-speaker sound system powered by a Kenwood CD/DVD/Navigation touchscreen head unit that doubles as a backup camera. The front buckets are both 6-way power, and the rear seats are matching buckets. The details didn't end in the trunk. It has a flatscreen TV set into the custom fiberglass enclosure and leather-lined trunk, along with a body-colored custom cooler. **SOLD ON BONDED TITLE** **TITLE IN TRANSIT**

1992 DODGE VIPER 1992 DODGE VIPER

1992 DODGE VIPER

Lot #1007 (Sale Order 1007 of 381)

With its muscular roadster body, raucous side-mounted exhaust pipes and powerful V10 engine mated to a 6-speed transmission lurking underhood, the Dodge Viper recalled the purity and purpose of the original Shelby Cobra of the 1960s. Most of all, the Viper’......s excitement and wretched excess made the K-Car a distant memory and resurrected Chrysler’......s proud high-performance heritage. Drawing from the 1985 Izod concept car, Viper development accelerated during a casual early-1988 meeting between Chrysler president Bob Lutz and design Chief Tom Gale. They envisioned a simple, high-performance “......image car,”...... an idea that was also supported by racing legend Carroll Shelby, who consulted for Chrysler at the time. The resulting Viper debuted at the 1989 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and caused a sensation, drawing unsolicited order requests and deposits on the spot. With its massive 400 hp V10 engine, stunning performance and race-inspired handling, not to mention its menacing presence, the Viper legend was born, and its basic essence continues today under the guidance of Chrysler’......s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) Division. This 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 is the 61st of as few as 236 examples hand-assembled for the first model year. Accompanied by a clean CARFAX report, it has covered less than 4,000 actual miles (title reads exempt) with just three owners from new. Previously owned by a Major League Baseball player, the Viper joined the Scott Thomas Collection in 2015. Finished in Viper Red –...... the only factory-available paint color for 1992, it comes with the original side windows and removable roof, a trickle charger and the aforementioned clean CARFAX vehicle-history report. From The Scott Thomas Collection.

1987 FERRARI TESTAROSSA 1987 FERRARI TESTAROSSA

1987 FERRARI TESTAROSSA

Lot #1018.1 (Sale Order 1018 of 381)

1987 was a special one-year-only Testarossa; it was the last model year Ferrari offered center-lock wheels on the Testarossa, and the first year the Testarossa was designed with the lower A-pillar side mirrors. 1987 was the only year both distinct features were available. This car has a set of center locks made by Ferrari. The Testarossa drivetrain was an evolution of the Ferrari Boxer 512i. Its engine used near identical displacements and compression ratio, but, unlike the BB 512i, it has 4-valve cylinder heads finished in red, giving the car its name Testarossa (Red-Head). The engine is a 4.9-liter, 4,945cc Ferrari flat 12-cylinder with 48 valves in total, lubricated via a dry sump system and a compression ratio of 9.20:1. These combine to provide a maximum torque of 490 Newton-meters, 361 ft/lbs at 4,500 rpm and a maximum power of 291 kilowatts at 6,300 rpm, flowing through the 5-speed manual transmission. The Testarossa has a double-wishbone front and rear suspension systems. Ferrari improved traction by adding 10-inch-wide alloy rear wheels. The car was ordered with Ferrari Corsa Red exterior and Beige leather interior. Delivered new in 1987 to Symbolic Ferrari of La Jolla and spent its entire life in California, until 2015. This Ferrari has been kept in a climate-controlled collection in Florida. The car just completed a Ferrari-documented full major service, including all belts, fluids, filters, valve cover gaskets and more. This Ferrari is presented with all books, original pouch, tool roll, two hook jack kit and service paperwork. It has wonderful provenance and is exciting to drive. This Testarossa has only averaged just over 1,100 miles per year since new.

1970 PORSCHE 911T 1970 PORSCHE 911T

1970 PORSCHE 911T

Lot #1019 (Sale Order 1019 of 381)

Absolutely spectacular and documented with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. As the PCOA documents, this 1970 Porsche 911T coupe retains its original beautiful color of Bahia Red with a black leatherette interior. The optional equipment included U.S. equipment, front and rear bumper horns, left antenna with loudspeaker and noise suppression, air conditioning, tinted glass all around and chrome whole-disk wheels. This car was the product of a comprehensive nut-and-bolt bare-shell restoration. The restoration started in 2017 and was completed in 2018. It only has 50 test miles since completion. Prior to the restoration, this 911 was a very original car with 98,450 miles. During the restoration, the car was taken to a bare-metal shell. It retains all the original sheet metal, with exception of the rockers and the area where the batteries are located. It also retains the original factory VIN stamping and tags throughout. During the restoration, an authentic Porsche 911S front spoiler was added. The body is very straight with great gap lines throughout. It was treated to a professional high-end paint job in the original beautiful color of Bahia Red. The front windshield was replaced. All of the remaining glass is Porsche original and is in great condition. The car sits perfectly on authentic Porsche Fuch 15-inch wheels that are 7 inches wide and in excellent condition. The interior was completely restored in the original color of black. The interior is in beautiful condition throughout and complements the red exterior. Everything in the interior, with exception of the gauges and clock, was restored or replaced. Some of these items include the headliner, sun visors, rearview mirror, dash, steering wheel, door panels, door pockets, door sills, seats, seat belts and carpeting. Everything in the interior is in working order, with exception of the clock. During the restoration the decision was made to delete the factory air conditioning. The engine compartment was restored and is highly detailed. It is home to the original matching-numbers 2.2-liter 6-cylinder engine. This engine was completely rebuilt by an authorized Porsche dealership named Kendall Porsche. Kendall Porsche is located in Bend, OR, and they have a vintage Porsche service center. The engine was restored to factory-correct specifications and retains many of the correct stickers throughout. It’......s equipped with PMO dual carburetors with K&N air filters and a custom oil breather. This engine runs excellent and is still being broken in. All of the receipts for the engine rebuild are included. This is very valuable, considering many vintage Porsche 911 engines aren’......t rebuilt like the sellers claim to be. The engine is coupled to the 5-speed transmission. The transmission is believed to be original to the car, but since it’......s not listed on the PCOA it can’......t be documented. The transmission was also completely rebuilt by Kendall Porsche. All of the receipts for the transmission rebuild are included. The transmission and clutch operate very smoothly. The front compartment was restored and nicely detailed. It has a Porsche steel 15-inch wheel with Firestone F-580 tire as a spare. Some other new items include new carpet pieces, dual batteries, custom strut tower brace and Porsche jack with tool kit. The undercarriage was restored and is nicely detailed throughout. Everything underneath has been restored or replaced, including all of the suspension and braking system. The undercarriage is nice enough to put mirrors underneath at a car show. An original Porsche owner’......s manual and a binder with receipts are included with the car. Thousands of dollars were invested in this spectacular restoration. Kendall Porsche did most of the mechanical work, which is worth its weight in gold. This car was recently serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice that is included.

1959 AUSTIN-HEALEY SPRITE CONVERTIBLE 1959 AUSTIN-HEALEY SPRITE CONVERTIBLE

1959 AUSTIN-HEALEY SPRITE CONVERTIBLE "SHELBY SPRITE"

Lot #1019.1 (Sale Order 1019 of 381)

This "Bugeye" Sprite is one of three training cars owned by Carroll Shelby and used at Carroll Shelby's School of High-Performance Driving. The high-performance driving school was located in Southern California at Riverside Raceway in the early 1960s. It is powered by a 948cc 4-cylinder engine backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. The Austin-Healey was used for approximately 5 years to instruct students - including young movie stars - in the art of road racing. Peter Brock, manager and driving instructor at the school, wrote in a letter that the car was the "workhorse" training vehicle of the school. When Carroll Shelby bequeathed the driving school to Bob Bondurant in 1965, the Sprite was sold to the manager of the Algar Porsche Dealership in Rosemont, PA. It was raced at various SCCA events in the Northeast until it was damaged and then subsequently stored for a period. In 1973 it was repaired and returned to racing, until it was retired again in 1992. There have been many magazine articles written about the car throughout the years. Photos of the car during its time at the school and a letter from Carroll Shelby about the car are on display at the Austin-Healey Museum. It has had a professional restoration to return it to its former glory as a training car at Riverside Raceway and it is currently race-ready. This “......Shelby Sprite”...... is an example of Carroll Shelby’......s influential automotive history.

It has been restored to show-quality standards throughout. This car retains its original hidden VIN tag, VIN cowl stamping and trim tag. This car was built on the third week of April 1969 at the Los Angeles factory with the following options: 76-E - Daytona Yellow with black stripes, C08 - vinyl top, D55 - console, D80 - spoiler equipment, G80 - posi-traction/4.10 ratio, J52 - disc brakes, M20 - 4-speed manual transmission, NC8 - chambered exhaust system (probably added to car), N33 - tilt steering column, N34 - wood steering wheel, N34 - power steering, U17- special instrumentation, U63 - AM radio, ZK3 - deluxe seat belts, Z21 - style trim group, Z28 - special engine and equipment package and Z87 - deluxe houndstooth interior. The information gathered shows this car spent its entire life in Arizona. Prior to the restoration it was a very solid car, retaining the original sheet metal and its original matching-numbers DZ 302 V8 engine, along with its original matching-numbers rear axle. The car went through a complete nut-and-bolt restoration. Everything on this car has been restored or replaced. The car was born with a flat hood, and during the restoration a cowl hood was added. Also during the restoration the decision was made to change the color of the stripes from black to white, which looks amazing. The exterior body of this car is very straight with very nice gap lines throughout. It was finished in the original Daytona Yellow, which looks stunning - especially with the white stripes and white vinyl top. The paint is beautiful and has been detailed to brilliant shine. Jerry MacNeish refers to the paint as “......excellent”...... in his report. The front and rear glass was replaced new. The side glass is original and in very nice condition. Everything on the exterior looks beautiful, such as the stainless trim, wipers, front grille, headlights, emblems, door handles, bumpers, taillights, etc. It sits on the correct 15-inch Rally wheels wrapped with Goodyear Wide Tread GT E70-15 tires. The exterior is complemented with a fully restored houndstooth interior. Jerry MacNeish’......s report stated this is a “......very rare color combination for a Z28”...... and refers to it as “......excellent.”...... Everything, including the clock, is in working order, with exception of the AM radio. This car is equipped with power steering, which works great. The trunk compartment is nicely detailed with a spare tire, tools and trunk mat. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. Jerry MacNeish refers to the engine bay as “......excellent”...... in his report. The car is powered by its original matching numbers DZ302 V8 engine, which was rebuilt and runs excellent. The engine breathes through factory manifolds and a correct-style exhaust system that sounds awesome. It has the correct tailpipe adaptor plate on the rear left side frame rail with factory spot welds. The engine is coupled to a 4-speed Muncie manual transmission with P9A31 assembly date and “......660”...... case. This transmission has no VIN, which indicates it was a service replacement. The transmission was rebuilt and shifts very nicely. The power is transferred to the pavement through the original matching-numbers 12-bolt axle with posi and 4.10 gear ratio. The rear end was rebuilt and works as it should. The undercarriage is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. Jerry MacNeish refers to the undercarriage as “......excellent”...... in his report. The floors and trunk floor are original to the car, with only minor dents and no signs of prior rust. The power braking system and suspension system was all redone. This car runs and drives as good as it looks.
