Hello my name is Ryan Spacek, I'm a 17 year old Junior at La Porte high school! Since junior high I have always thought about raising but I kept on putting it off until my sophomore year. November 28, 2018 I got my first animal and it was a pig that I named Tommy Hillpiger. I took him to La Porte and didn't do so well with him. I knew that I couldn't stop after 1 year so I gave it another shot but this time with a steer. Me and Throttle have had some really good times like when we chase each other around the yard, or my mom calls him from the back up to the front just to give him his daily belly rubs and we have had many more fun times but there has also been tough times. For instance, it was about the 2nd week we got him and he was still very scared of us, well we have trailers in the back and he decided he. Wanted to cut a sharp corner and he completely sliced his entire body up. Even though there has been a couple bad times there will always be more good times. This is my 7th year of exhibiting at the La Porte Livestock Show, and I have been fortunate enough to earn multiple auction spots in many species. The proceeds I receive are used to purchase the next projects to continue my showing journey with cattle. When I first started showing animals, my older brother had already been showing cattle and he inspired me to start showing them. I hadn't really thought about what I wanted to become when I get older but, by being a member of La Porte Junior FFA these past few years, I have developed a passion to further my education in agriculture and get a Business Degree so I can Sell Mineral for cattle. As I work towards my new goal, I will continue to raise and exhibit cattle, but for now I'll begin setting some of my auction proceeds aside so I can attend Texas A&M University to further my education for this career path.

Hello to all! I'm Hayden Hiser and a freshman at La Porte High school. I have been involved in FFA since 3rd grade and have had the opportunity to raise all species of animals. This year COVID-19 put a damper on the show season with the cancellation of our normal La Porte show which our livestock superintendent and board came up with a solution for the animals to be exhibited. Although I couldn't personally exhibit my pig, Allie, the blood, sweat and tears especially this growing season were worth it. Thank you to everyone for the support and encouragement along the way. I have been a member of La Porte FFA for the past four years, and I have just retired from serving as the La Porte FFA President and the Area III Association Vice President. Growing up in a family that has owned a small, beef cattle operation, I was always submerged in the agriculture industry, and I found myself to be very passionate about it. I have spent the past four years raising every species in the barn including steers, sheep, pigs, broilers, turkeys, and rabbits. I am attending Sam Houston State University in the fall, where I will be double majoring in Plant and Soil Science and Political Science, with a minor in Agriculture Education Certification. Where I plan to go with this education is uncertain, as of now, but my intentions are to do one of the following: become a biotechnologist and develop GMOs to feed the neediest, become an ag science teacher and FFA advisor, or to involve myself in the US government through public office. All proceeds from the livestock sale will benefit my education and go towards my tuition.

Hi my name is Christopher Zupan. I am a member of La Porte Junior FFA. I am currently in 7th grade and am very active in school. I play football and baseball as well as raise goats. I have been raising for 3 years. This year started out really rocky for me. I had purchased a really nice goat, but he ended up dying early in the growing season. I struggled with the thought of getting a new goat. I eventually decided it was a good idea so I purchased Buddy. I worked with Buddy every night at the barn. We also went to many prospect shows. Buddy and I made a great team. We placed well in class and even almost won junior showmanship a few times. I worked really hard this year and it all paid off. It felt amazing winning Grand Champion. It has really pushed me to work even harder and continue to raise. I plan on raising many more goat projects throughout the next few years. The money I earn from Buddy will help fund those future projects. I appreciate you helping me financially with my future projects.

My name is Courtney Wolters and I am 13yrs old and go to Lomax Junior High. I have been showing in Laporte and other shows for 7 years. For this season I decided I wanted to take on a bigger challenge and show my first ever steer. My steers name is Buddha and he weighs 1,450 pounds. At the beginning of the year, Buddha was not so friendly! It was a huge challenge and battle to get him where he is now. Buddha is now my bestfriend and he loves to cuddle with me while I lay on his back. I always find time between my school activities to spend time and work with him. Some of the sports I play are tennis, track, cross country, and volleyball. I volunteered throughout the school year to help with the Special Olympics Program. This year has been one of my favorite years because of my steer. I love him so much and can't wait to finish our journey together. I am for sure going to miss him.

For the painting I painted a picture of a pig and it got 3rd place. For the Decorative Craft I made Pillows and they got 3rd place. For the Culinary Arts category I made cupcakes and cookies. I have been a member of La Porte FFA for the past four years, and I have just retired from serving as the La Porte FFA President and the Area III Association Vice President. Growing up in a family that has owned a small, beef cattle operation, I was always submerged in the agriculture industry, and I found myself to be very passionate about it. I have spent the past four years raising every species in the barn including steers, sheep, pigs, broilers, turkeys, and rabbits. I am attending Sam Houston State University in the fall, where I will be double majoring in Plant and Soil Science and Political Science, with a minor in Agriculture Education Certification. Where I plan to go with this education is uncertain, as of now, but my intentions are to do one of the following: become a biotechnologist and develop GMOs to feed the neediest, become an ag science teacher and FFA advisor, or to involve myself in the US government through public office. All proceeds from the livestock sale will benefit my education and go towards my tuition.

Learning how to feed these animals out to make them look show ready or working them so that there muscle pop and they keep a constant weight is a big part of her job with these animals. Hi, my name is Madilynne Barnhart and I am a 6th grader at Baker Jr High. This is my third year showing at LPLSR, my second year raising a pig and first year raising poultry. Outside of Jr FFA I play volleyball, junior volunteer at the police department, and enjoy spending time with my family. I want to thank the LPLSR Board for putting together a show and auction for La Porte Jr FFA, 4H, and FFA. I placed 5th overall with my pig, Ursula, 5th with my Turkey Hen, and 8th with my Broilers. I really enjoy being apart of this organization and look forward to many more projects!

Alisyn is enrolled in AP classes and was part of the high school musical. She has been an active member of the La Porte 4H Club for eight years and plans to continue throughout high school. Alisyn enjoys traveling and scuba diving with her family.

He participated in the high school musical all four years of high school and played a lead role three of those years. Carson is in the Duel Enrollment program and is also part of LPTV. He has been an active member of the La Porte 4H Club for eight years and served as an officer seven of those years. Carson enjoys traveling and scuba diving with his family. After graduation Carson will attend University of Houston-Clear Lake to pursue a degree in business/marketing.

Hello my name is Zoe Hernandez and I am 16 years old. I participated in the 2020 La Porte Livestock show. This year I raised a lamb and a pig. My lamb got 3rd in his class and the 5th auction spot. My pig got 2nd in his class and the 7th auction spot. I also did Creative Arts and Culinary arts. For the Creative Arts category I did a Painting and a Decorative Craft. For the painting I painted a picture of a pig and it got 3rd place. For the Decorative Craft I made Pillows and they got 3rd place. For the Culinary Arts category I made cupcakes and cookies. For the cookies I made Nieman Marcus Cookies and they got 3rd place. For the cupcakes I made Mississippi Mud Cupcakes and they got 1st place

Hey yall I am Madison Welch. I have been a part of the La Porte FFA chapter since my freshman year of high school, I'm currently a junior. Over the past three years I have raised everything from steers, heifers, pigs, lambs, and goats. I am very involved in FFA and with our chapter. I am currently the 2019-2020 chapter Vice President, and I also just retired as the Gulf Coast District Reporter. FFA has grown to be my biggest passion. I hope that one day I will be able to share and hopefully teach my passion and grow with this amazing organization that has done so much for me and pass it to someone else.

After graduation, I will be attending Blinn College in Brenham, Tx and plan to transfer to Texas A&M- College Station to major in Poultry Science.
