**Star Note** 1963A New York Green Seal Federal Reserve Note Grades Gem++ CU. The Series 1963A $1 bill is among the first to feature the revised obligation THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE. A portrait of George Washington is on the face. The back shows the Great Seal of the United States. With green seal and serial numbers and Granahan-Fowler signatures. Additionally, it is a Star Note. When notes are discovered that have been printed incorrectly (such as having the serial numbers upside down, etc.) the misprinted "error notes" are replaced with star notes because no two bills within a certain series can be produced with the same serial number. They are used to maintain a correct count of notes in a serial number run. By their nature, star notes are more scarce than notes with standard serial numbers and as such are widely collected by numismatists. Some of the highest prices paid for modern (post-1928) U.S. banknotes have been for star notes.

These notes include an additional legend printed on the face that is not present on any other Federal Reserve notes. The legend states that Silver had been deposited in the Treasury and was payable on demand to the note’s bearer. This note has a tear on the top right side.

To Quote David Hall of PCGS “The 1901-S Barber quarter is, in my opinion, the rarest regular issue (non-variety) silver coin of the 20th century. The original mintage of 72,664 is very low for the era. For example, the mintage of the 1901 was 8,892,000, the 1901-O was 1,612,000, and the 1902-S was 1,524,612. And the 1901-S was issued at a time when collecting branch mints was not the general practice. Most collectors at that time just sought one of each date, regardless of mint. Collecting by date and mint mark didn't start to get popular until about ten years later. The majority of 1901-S quarter surviving today are very low grade with the typical specimen being an AG3 or GD4” And to hear fro another Noted Numismatist, to quote Jamie Hernandez “The 1901-S Barber Quarter is the key coin to the entire regular strike Barber coinage. Up for Auction is a Consignment I have been talking about for the last few months, and I have finally secured. I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. I have put 3 in each of the Independence auctions. We estimate the rolls to be worth $500-$700 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

*Star Note * 1957A $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades Choice AU/BU Slider. When notes are discovered that have been printed incorrectly (such as having the serial numbers upside down, etc.) the misprinted "error notes" are replaced with star notes because no two bills within a certain series can be produced with the same serial number. They are used to maintain a correct count of notes in a serial number run. By their nature, star notes are more scarce than notes with standard serial numbers and as such are widely collected by numismatists. Some of the highest prices paid for modern (post-1928) U.S. banknotes have been for star notes. The note itself is a Silver Certificate. Silver Certificates were redeemable in Silver. One of their most distinctive qualities is the blue Treasury seal and serial numbers. These notes include an additional legend printed on the face that is not present on any other Federal Reserve notes. The legend states that Silver had been deposited in the Treasury and was payable on demand to the note’s bearer.

2003A $2 Green Seal Dallas Green Seal Federal Reserve Note (FRN) Grades Gem++ CU. On November 3, 1975, Secretary of the Treasury William E. Simon announced the reissuance of the $2 note as a cost-saving measure; the new $2 notes would be available from banks on April 13, 1976, Thomas Jefferson's birthday.[28] Series 1976 and onward $2 bills were partially redesigned and reissued as a Federal Reserve Note. The note retains the same portrait of Jefferson, and the basic design of the obverse remains unchanged since 1928. The treasury seal and serial numbers are printed in green ink, replacing the red used on the previous United States Note. Since the reintroduction of the note coincided with the United States Bicentennial, it was decided to use a bicentennial-themed design on the reverse. The bill was not issued specifically to celebrate the bicenntenial, as is widely assumed. An engraved rendition (not an exact reproduction) of John Trumbull's Declaration of Independence replaced Monticello on the reverse. Beginning with Series 1995, all $2 notes have been produced at the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. An issue of Series 2003A $2 bills was printed from July to September 2006 for all twelve Federal Reserve Banks.

Up for Auction is a very scarce Colonial “Kentucky Cent” To Quote Ron Guth “Ron Guth: This coin is really a reference to the United States, not just to a particular state, but because the star at the top of the pyramid bears the abbreviation "K", this coin has become known as the Kentucky Token (sometimes called a "Cent"). All of the different varieties of the Kentucky token were struck in England and they are collected as 1) part of the series of American Colonial coins and 2) as part of the series of Merchant (and other) tokens catalogued by Dalton & Hamer -- otherwise known as Conder Tokens.Obverse: "UNANIMITY IS THE STRENGTH OF SOCIETY" surrounds a hand holding a scroll that reads, "OUR CAUSE IS JUST" Reverse: "E PLURIBUS UNUM" above a fifteen star pyramid in rays of glory. Highly Reflective Fields and a light cameo with vivid medium gold patina blend nicely over both sides of this silky smooth Gem. Sharply struck throughout with exceptionally well preserved surfaces for this scarce and conditionally challenging 19th century gold type. In 1875, the federal government mandated that, beginning on January 1, 1879, gold coins would once again be exchangeable at par with paper currency. This would return gold coinage to active commerce in the eastern part of the United States for the first time since banks suspended gold specie payments in December 1861, due to the uncertain economic climate brought about by the onset of the Civil War. In anticipation of this event, the Mint increased gold coin production in 1878 to build up its stocks of such pieces. The market also anticipated the date the mandate was due to take effect, and on December 17, 1878, gold achieved parity with paper on its own. However, the contemporary public showed little interest in exchanging paper currency for gold and, even if they had, it is unlikely that many people would have requested three-dollar gold pieces. The denomination was unpopular almost from the time of authorization in the mid 1850s, and with supplies of 1878 coins quickly accumulating at the Mint and in bank reserves, yearly mintages fell off sharply again beginning in 1879 and continuing through the series' end in 1889. Most of the 1878 three-dollar gold pieces that remained in the Mint were eventually melted. The 1878 is one of the issues that you almost never see in Proof Like Condition. This lustrous Choice AU specimen is sharply detailed for a Territorial issue and the pleasing green and orange-gold surfaces are lightly abraded. One of the most important private minting firms to service specie-starved Gold Rush California, Moffat & Co. was so highly regarded among the contemporary public that it eventually received the federal contract to serve as the United States Assay Office, itself a predecessor to the San Francisco Mint. Up for Auction is a Consignment I have been talking about for the last few months, and I have finally secured. I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. I have put 3 in each of the Independence auctions. We estimate the rolls to be worth $500-$700 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

When notes are discovered that have been printed incorrectly (such as having the serial numbers upside down, etc.) the misprinted "error notes" are replaced with star notes because no two bills within a certain series can be produced with the same serial number. They are used to maintain a correct count of notes in a serial number run. By their nature, star notes are more scarce than notes with standard serial numbers and as such are widely collected by numismatists. Some of the highest prices paid for modern (post-1928) U.S. banknotes have been for star notes. The note itself is a Silver Certificate. Silver Certificates were redeemable in Silver. One of their most distinctive qualities is the blue Treasury seal and serial numbers. These notes include an additional legend printed on the face that is not present on any other Federal Reserve notes. The legend states that Silver had been deposited in the Treasury and was payable on demand to the note’s bearer.

Highlight of the entire Auction. Up for Auction is a Numismatic Rarity. A coin I have never seen in hand in any grade higher than VG. An 1872-cc Seated Liberty Dime. This example is a near TOP POP, with just 1 coin Graded Finer. This au58+ example is a True Numismatic Rarity. The same reverse die was used to strike all Carson City Mint Liberty Seated dimes dated 1871 to 1874. The present example was struck from the late state of this reverse die after it developed a light crack through the CC mintmark that extends into the right ribbon end. This crack is evident on late die state examples of the 1872-CC, as well as on all 1873-CC (No Arrows and Arrows) and 1874-CC dimes. Nicely toned, both sides exhibit olive-red and gold toning that encircle the entire reverse and obverse. Satiny in texture and outwardly smooth, a bold to sharp strike is also a praiseworthy attribute for this extremely important condition rarity. It is estimated that 60 examples exist in all grades with only 1 grading mint state. The lone Mint State example sold at auction three times in the last 20 years, in 2005, in an ms61 holder at $71,300, in 2012 for $184,000 in an ms63 holder and in 2015 for $182,125, in the same ms63 holder. The coin trends in au58 $45,000 and in ms63 $182,500. This is likely your only opportunity in the foreseeable future to acquire an 1872-cc of this caliber, as the finest is in a fairly permanent private collection. I wish you Good Luck. Of the four known die pairings for this year, this variety is available with patience, and has long been a favored issue because of the broken R letter punch used, thus creating the spelling LIBEKTY. It is not all that unusual for the letter punches to form chips, especially on their serifs, and these come and go with some regularity in this period when all dies were engraved by hand, with each letter punch used one at a time to create words. What is unusual is that this letter resembles a K more than an R after being chipped, and this feature has long endeared this particular issue to collectors. Here is a solid mid to high grade specimen with an obverse planchet defect at 11:00 that will be admired for many years to come in any advanced collection. Lustrous for the grade with overall sharp striking detail and uncommonly strong eye appeal for a lightly circulated survivor of this challenging issue. The mintage for the 1873-CC is a scant 22,410 pieces, a reduction of more than 4,000 coins from the previous year's press run at the Carson City Mint. Face value was $448,200. While some 1873-CC double eagles were included in overseas banking transactions in later years, by that time most showed significant wear from extensive use in regional commerce. We estimate some 250 to 350 circulated examples of the date are extant today, with most of those VF, EF to a lesser degree, and with AU pieces scarce but occasionally available. Given that Mint State survivors are major rarities, this uncommonly attractive AU-55 represents a particularly significant find for the quality conscious collector. Up for Auction is a Consignment I have been talking about for the last few months, and I have finally secured. I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. I have put 3 in each of the Independence auctions. We estimate the rolls to be worth $500-$700 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

***Auction Highlight*** 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Graded Choice+ Unc By USCG. The 27-p is the big sleeper of numismatics in my opinion. It has the 2nd lowest mintage in the whole Peace dollar series. Lower than the 34-s, the 21-p, yet it does not command its proper value. *Star Note * 1957 $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades xf+. When notes are discovered that have been printed incorrectly (such as having the serial numbers upside down, etc.) the misprinted "error notes" are replaced with star notes because no two bills within a certain series can be produced with the same serial number. They are used to maintain a correct count of notes in a serial number run. By their nature, star notes are more scarce than notes with standard serial numbers and as such are widely collected by numismatists. Some of the highest prices paid for modern (post-1928) U.S. banknotes have been for star notes. The note itself is a Silver Certificate. Silver Certificates were redeemable in Silver. One of their most distinctive qualities is the blue Treasury seal and serial numbers. These notes include an additional legend printed on the face that is not present on any other Federal Reserve notes. The legend states that Silver had been deposited in the Treasury and was payable on demand to the note’s bearer.

2003A $2 Green Seal San Francisco Green Seal Federal Reserve Note (FRN) Grades Gem++ CU. On November 3, 1975, Secretary of the Treasury William E. Simon announced the reissuance of the $2 note as a cost-saving measure; the new $2 notes would be available from banks on April 13, 1976, Thomas Jefferson's birthday.[28] Series 1976 and onward $2 bills were partially redesigned and reissued as a Federal Reserve Note. The note retains the same portrait of Jefferson, and the basic design of the obverse remains unchanged since 1928. The treasury seal and serial numbers are printed in green ink, replacing the red used on the previous United States Note. Since the reintroduction of the note coincided with the United States Bicentennial, it was decided to use a bicentennial-themed design on the reverse. The bill was not issued specifically to celebrate the bicenntenial, as is widely assumed. An engraved rendition (not an exact reproduction) of John Trumbull's Declaration of Independence replaced Monticello on the reverse. Beginning with Series 1995, all $2 notes have been produced at the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. An issue of Series 2003A $2 bills was printed from July to September 2006 for all twelve Federal Reserve Banks.

Roosevelt on the eve of World War II as the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, the March of Dimes was instrumental in the eradication of polio from the United States. Since then the March of Dimes’ mission has been the prevention of birth defects, and it has been at work with new research and discoveries to help every generation of babies be born healthy and grow up strong. The obverse (heads) design represents the past depicting President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dr. Jonas Salk, two leaders in the fight against polio. The inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST“ and “2015.” The reverse (tails) design depicts a baby cuddled in the hand of a parent, representing the foundation’s dedication to the health of babies. The inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “$1,” “MARCH OF DIMES” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” Graded perfection by USCG.
