Very Rare WWII Japanese Pole Bayonet Lot #1024 (Sale Order 22 of 679) These rare bayonets were constructed to be mounted on bamboo poles for use in defense of the Japanese home islands and are truly the epitome of a last ditch war effort. This bayonet is missing the cut for the bayonet lug and lock by design. Bayonet has rough, blued blade with pointy tip. Ricasso is marked with the rare maker's mark of the Jinsen Arsenal in Korea. Blade measures 15.75" in length. Crossguard is straight with a muzzle ring on both sides for mounting on bamboo poles more easily. Wood grips are in very good condition. Wooden scabbard is in rough condition with some cracks near the tip. Bayonet measures 20" overall. Czech Bayonet Model VZ23 w/Scabbard Lot #1083 (Sale Order 78 of 679) Czech Bayonet w/Scabbard. After the formation of Czechoslovakia, the BRNO arms factory would sell many rifles to countries around the world and with those rifles came bayonets. This bayonet has the marking, “CSZ“ on one side of the base of the blade and a proof mark on the other. The blade is in the white and is coated in a preservative grease. The wood grips have some scratches and there is a small gouge in the grips near the crossguard. The pommel has the number “7159“ stamped into it. The scabbard has the marking “CSZ 23“ on the frog stud. See photos. Good condition.

M1891 Argentine Bayonet (2) Lot #1088 (Sale Order 83 of 679) M1891 Argentine Bayonet. In 1891, Argentina modernized their armed forces and adopted the M1891 Mauser and bayonet as part of that modernization. These new arms were produced in Germany for a contract made by the Argentines. The bayonet is unique from many others for having aluminum grips and a hooked quillion. The blade is in the white and has some oxidation as well as a dull tip. The base of the blade has the manufacturer’s mark “Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co. Solingen“ on one side of the blade. The blades are numbered “R3534“ & "G9934". The aluminum grips are in good condition. Only 1 scabbard is present. Good condition. Argentine crest removed per export regulations.

This is a probable reproduction, as the few observed naval cutlasses with open guards were stamped Chicopee Mass (not Cabotville) and this one also has the army's inspector marks, "ADK". Leather and wire intact on handle, may have been regripped. USN open stenciled on brass guard. Blades measures 2’2”, overall 2’8”. Polish Military Leader Plaques Lot #1243 (Sale Order 235 of 679) A pair of metal plaques featuring Thaddeus Kosciuszko and Jozef Poniatowski, both of which were in the military in the 18th century. Kosciuszko was a military engineer who helped build fortifications for the Continental Army during the American revolution and Poniatowski was a general who fought in the Polish-Russian War of 1792. Civil War Archive of Lt. Almon Kidder Lot #1276 (Sale Order 270 of 679) Almon Kidder was a lawyer in Monmouth, Illinois. His papers were acquired from the last remaining family descendant who recently passed away. Kidder was mustered in as 1st Sargent and out as a Lieutenant. Kidder was a judge in Monmouth who tried members of Wyatt Earp's family. Included are 2 copies of his 100 day enlistment papers dated 1864, personal letters, hand written election of officers signed off by him in 1864, original muster roll, pay voucher, Roll of Honor hand written list, hand written pages of General Order #29, as well as letters and papers of his pre and post war life as a lawyer. Documents have all lettering clear and legible. An incredible find and an amazing piece of personal Civil War history.

Lincoln's Navy Secretary Gideon Welles Check Lot #1304 (Sale Order 298 of 679) Check filled out and signed by Lincoln's Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles in the amount of $42. Dated December 13, 1865, the check also has an applied revenue stamp initialed by Welles in canceling it. Punch check does not touch signature and causes no paper loss. Welles remained Navy Secretary until he resigned in 1869. A nice example of important Civil War figure. Check comes in a plastic covering and is in very good condition. See photos.

WWII Vet Tank Destroyer Large Grouping Lot #1348 (Sale Order 341 of 679) Second Lieutenant Frank Henry Egner was born on July 15, 1918 and was part of the 808th Tank Battalion during WWII. Included in this grouping is a captured, large Nazi flag and a photo of Egner with one other soldier holding the flag sometime after the war. Also included is 4 riker cases full of memorabilia from Egner. In one of the cases is a pair of transparent grips for a 1911A1 with the emblem of Tank Destroyer units on one side and Egner and his wife on the other. The grips are displayed with his weapons qualifications pins, dog tags, collar pins, and original patches. Also displayed are newspaper clippings, stamps, photos, and more. This lot also contains a box of field manuals and books detailing uniform codes as well as a box of photographs taken overseas by Egner. Also included are Egner’s footlocker and shipping crate with the shipping crate containing his WW2, Seaman Paper Co. produced helmet liner, cold weather parka pants, other cold weather field wear, and misc. web gear. WWI US M1917 Uniform Lot #1419 (Sale Order 408 of 679) Uniform consists of the dress jacket and pants. Jacket has a very unusual patch consisting of the Flag of England on a wreath with a sword above the wreath pointed at a star, pinned to the left breast pocket. Collar has US button as well as a 54 PE button. Left sleeve has AEF Third Army patch as well as rank insignia. Pinned above the right breast pocket is a "19th Annual Convention, Dept. of Minnesota, American Legion" medal and pinned above the left breast pocket is a ribbon bar. Jacket was worn tag reading "Coat, Breast, 38". Lot also comes with a pair of WWI overseas caps with one cap having a tag on the inside of the hat. Soviet Colonel Uniform Lot #1448 (Sale Order 437 of 679) Uniform consists of a jacket and a peaked visor cap. Jacket has numerous pins and badges on the front of the uniform as well as 4 medals. This slide rule was made by the J. B. Carroll Co. of Chicago, IL, and is serialized "9335". WWII E-37500 Aircraft Watch Lot #1500 (Sale Order 480 of 679) WWII era E-37500 aircraft match made by Elgin Watch Company. The Elgin Watch Company was active from 1863 to 1968. The E-37500 was made in 1944-45 for plane cockpits. It used 24 hour time. This piece was useful for helping pilots and the military keep a standard time. The parts of the watch appear to be working such as the small 60 second timer and minute hand. Serial number on the back says “2707”. Glass does not have any cracks and the case is not missing any screws. Watch might need some minor repairs but can still function. Overall good condition. See photos.

Vintage Early Wooden Propeller Lot #1503 (Sale Order 483 of 679) Vintage early wooden propeller that was used on an airplane. One side of the propeller has oil from the engine and the other side is relatively clean. Maker is unknown but the marks are “1575” on the hub and “60 97 31” on one of the blades. Tips of the blades have copper plating and have some damage to both the plating and wood. Propeller measures 7 feet 9.5” due to the damage to the ends. Has 8 bolt holes measuring at .370”, center bore measures 2.660”, and the distance between opposite holes is 5.632”. The widest part measures 4” exactly. The propeller is made from a darker wood with black stripes near the edges. Copper plating goes from the edges of the blade to 31” away from the edge of the bore hole. This propeller would make a fine display piece for any aviation collector.

WWII Pup Style Tent Lot #1660 (Sale Order 617 of 679) White WWII cloth pup tent and rain cover, wool blanket, rope, cardboard tree disguise, and cloth blanket. The style of the tent was used during the second world war. This tent was used for a civil war reenactment. The tent and rain cover are both faded and have some black markings near the edges. The cloth blanket is white with blue stripes but is faded due to heavy usage. Tree disguise is brown painted paper and cardboard. Has writing on the back but not legible. Overall good condition.
