Antique, Cased Remington, New Model, SN 14002, Factory Conversion Revolver. Lot #466 (Sale Order 466 of 413) Antique, Cased Remington, New Model, SN 14002, Factory Conversion Revolver. The serial number is marked on the grip frame under the grips and on the bottom of the barrel. This is a 5-shot, .36 caliber percussion Revolver with a 3 1/2†barrel and blue finish, manufactured circa 1873. The barrel address is partially obscured by the front sight placement. This could indicate that the barrel was shortened although the barrel doesn’t appear to have been cut. The barrel, cylinder and cartridge conversion cylinder all have a significant amount of blue remaining. The trigger guard has some silver plating remaining. The bore is very good and the action functions properly. The original case comes with a powder flask, a Colts Patent marked bullet mold, the conversion cylinder and cap, a number of round lead balls and a working key.

Antique, English Cased Colt, 1851 Navy, SN 179487, "Enfield Armory" marked Lot #467 (Sale Order 467 of 413) Antique, English Cased Colt, 1851 Navy, SN 179487, "Enfield Armory" marked Revolver. This revolver is pictured on page 122 in the book “COLONEL COLT LONDON†by Joseph G. Rosa and mentioned by serial number on pages 172 & 173 in the book “ ‘51 Colt Navies†by Nathan L. Swayze as an example of a scarce "Enfield" marked Navy revolver. Mr. Swayze is only aware of 16 such revolvers that exist in this country with all of them being in the 179487-188258 serial number range. The serial numbers match on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and backstrap with the last four on the cylinder. Some of these serial numbers are factory over stamped to provide proper matching. This is a 6-shot, .36 caliber, percussion revolver with a 7 1/2†barrel manufactured in 1864. The New York barrel address is lightly rolled but all readable as is the patent mark on the frame. The cylinder scene is light and partly visible. There are London proof marks on the barrel and cylinder. The barrel has traces of blue finish and the frame has flashes of case colors. The loading lever has more pronounced case colors on the lug. The original walnut grips have a significant amount of original varnish and a number of nicks and dings. The English Case is complete with proper and correct accoutrements including a Hawksley Powder Flask, UMC Cap Tin w/caps, a Colts Patent Bullet Mold, a Nipple Wrench and several round Lead Balls. The label inside the lid is nearly all intact but a little tattered. The lining in the case has some old repairs, loose partitions and minor missing felt. The exterior of the case is in good condition with normal bumps and bruises for the age. The action is good and the bore is average. Accompanying this English Cased Colt will be two books titled " '51 Colt Navies" by Nathan L. Swayze and "Colonel Colt London" by Joseph G. Rosa. WILL SELL AS ONE .

While the barrel was made specifically for use as a cartridge gun, the frame on this Colt was converted from percussion. The serial number matches on the frame, trigger guard and backstrap with the numbers on the barrel and cylinder being too worn to read. The wedge is loose, not matching and is marked 25547. The serial number is in the upper range of the 1849 Pocket Model frame range and has the new breech loading patent dates. The original .31 CAL has not been over stamped with .36 CAL which is typically seen on this model. The factory conversion markings are all clear and readable.
