Orts Level single collar tabs for Administrative "Stellenleiter and HauptStellenleiter. Textbook period example flat wire embroidered ORDENSBURGEN Political leader school cuff title. "In Nazi Germany, the NS-Ordensburgen ("National Socialist Order Castles", singular Ordensburg), also called Schulungsburgen, were schools developed for elite Nazi military echelons. There were strict requirements for admission to the schools. Junker candidates had to be aged between 25 and 30 years old, belong to either the Nazi Party, the Hitler Youth, the Sturmabteilung, or the Schutzstaffel, be physically completely healthy, and be pure-blooded with no hereditary defects. The schools themselves were typically stark, modern structures with extensive facilities. Vogelsang, for instance, reportedly contained the world's largest gymnasium at the time. Each student attended all four institutions in sequence, for specialty training, finishing in Marienburg for training that included live-fire military exercises. The three institutions for education of political leaders and their educational focuses were: Ordensburg Vogelsang in North Rhine-Westphalia - focus: racial philosophy of the new order; Ordensburg Sonthofen in Bavaria, Allgäu, built 1934 - focus: administrative and military tasks and diplomacy; the facility was used by Germany's Bundeswehr until end of 2007. Ordensburg Krössinsee in Pomerania; focus: development of character; According to the training model the disciples had to spend one year at each castle in order to become familiar with each educational focus. A fourth Ordensburg was planned at (the historic) Ordensburg Marienburg, in West Prussia, which was to be established at the medieval Malbork Castle."

The right shoulder sew in shoulder board has minor stitch separation at the seam. Bullion breast eagle exhibits moderate age toning. Each should board with one rank pip indicating rank of "Oberleutnant". Following is a brief history on this style tunic..."In 1937 officers were authorized the optional purchase of the "ornamented" (ornamentierte) or "piped" (mit Vorstössen) uniform, to be worn as a less-formal alternative to the Waffenrock for walking-out and some ceremonial occasions. The M37 Feldbluse was identical to the M35 service tunic, save that the collar and its Litzen were the same as the Waffenrock, and collar, closure and cuffs were piped in Waffenfarbe. It was worn with the piped dress trousers. Beginning in 1940, the M37 replaced the Waffenrock for formal and ceremonial dress

The two snaps on the wearer's left leather side flap have come through the leather and could quite possibly be easily repaired. In excellent overall collectible condition. Nickel finish fittings with nickel grip eagle exhibiting the typical Eickhorn "High" neck. The reverse of the cross guard is "Wm" district stamped. Early double oval Eickhorn logo and blade reverse exhibits grind marks indicating this example had the Ernst Rohm inscription. The obverse of the blade has a crisply etched motto still retaining a lot of the original dark factory burnishing. Black factory painted scabbard with NSKK leader center band that was a field applied upgrade upon promotion, which was a common practice for the soldier to keep his original dagger rather than purchase another factory produced example. The center band and upper and lower scabbard fittings appear to have traces of a gilt finish...Possibly SA marine? Original plated steel hanger links having the standard 4 upper links and 5 lower links. Hanger clip is correct with correct details to the oak leaf motif. Links are correctly maker stamped on the reverse. Scarce example of an early ground Rohm Eichhorn NSKK dagger before the officer upgrade which more than doubles the scarcity!

The blade appears to have been period chrome plated. Both blade edges exhibit light sharpening and blade point appears to have been period re-tipped as the length of the blade is about 3/4" shorter than other examples. It has the "ANTON WINGEN" maker logo. Original factory painted scabbard with chrome fittings is in excellent condition. We believe the engraving to be period but please bid based on your own assessment, research and/or expertise.

In excellent overall condition! Right out of the woodwork! The silver finish fittings exhibit moderate wear with some minor age “bubbling” with a lot of the original silvering intact. The bird head is an excellent depiction, with a stern brow over the eyes and sharply detailed beak. The bird has the four engraved feather striations on the back, and the ferrule area has the 45 degree angle decorative grooves. The cross guard exhibits crisp detail, featuring quillon arms that extend outward into downward curls. The center area depicts the RAD logo; a lined spade with a plain swastika superimposed in the center. The spade rests between two detailed wheat stalks. The period plastic grip plates have toned to a desirable off-white color. They are in excellent condition and retained by a screw in the reverse that has not been turned. The bright steel blade of this dagger is in extremely fine condition, exhibiting a few small age spots and moderate in-and-out marks. Original leather scabbard throat buffer washer is intact. The RAD motto, “Arbeit Adelt”, is crisply etched. On the reverse is the trademark used from 1937 through 1939, consisting of a set of scales with the firm's initials, “ACS”, interspersed within them. Above the scales in arched block letters is the name of the firm, “Alcoso”, and below is the location city of “Solingen”. Steel scabbard is in excellent condition. The pebbled panels have the original factory darkening in the backgrounds. The obverse of the scabbard throat fitting has the crisply engraved RAD “knot curls” at the top, and two engraved wheat stalks, being the style that do not touch. The same wheat stalks are depicted on the lower scabbard beneath the panel. The scabbard is equipped with two nicely executed hanger “rings”.

Double edge bright steel blade exhibits moderate scabbard runner marks. The motto is crisply etched and still retains most of the original factory gray burnishing. There is some age graying on both sides close to the lower cross guard fitting. It has the etched maker mark of RZM M7/85 for the firm of "ARTUR EVERTZ SOLINGEN" Scabbard body and chrome finish fittings are dent free. Dark brown factory painted finish exhibits very moderate age crazing. An exceptional overall example!

Stag grip plates are well executed. Police eagle device is tightly affixed. Crisply engraved eagle head pommel and oak leaf motif cross guard. Plated finish steel blade is double maker marked. The blade's fuller goes through to the tip. The spine of the blade has the multi pointed Weimar period star over the letter K. The reverse of the cross guard is unit stamped which matches the scabbard throat unit stamping. There is a hole drilled into the grip just below the police eagle device and goes through the reverse grip plate. Not sure why this was done but it appears to have been period drilled. Black finish leather scabbard body with nickel finish upper and lower fittings. As noted previously, the reverse of the scabbard throat fitting has a matching unit stamping. Leather frog is maker stamped and appears to have a period repair to the stitching on one side.

From the Eickhorn Field Marshal sword series, this is the "Scharnhorst" Model #1706 pattern. Panther head pommel with red glass eyes. Aluminum alloy fittings with gilt finish which has darkened with age. Finish exhibits wear and loss especially to the high relief areas. Triple wire wrapped black celluloid grip is in excellent condition. The underside of the cross guard is stamped "GES. GESCH" The blade has the later Eickhorn Squirrel maker logo. Plated chrome finish blade exhibits spots of plate loss and/or age graying throughout. The blade is engraved on both sides which is scarce for Wehrmacht Officer swords, and is especially scarce when found on an Eickhorn Field Marshal series sword blade! There are a few small nicks on the blade cutting edge. Scabbard is in very good condition exhibiting age crazing to the original period black factory applied paint.

There is what appears to be a factory flaw in the black celluloid grip at the pommel also. The original lacquer finish on the metal fittings has darkened with age. Still retains the original leather cross guard/scabbard buffer washer. Dark walnut wood grip plates with 2 retaining rivets. Steel blade with one side cutting edge with stiletto point exhibits moderate age darkening. Maker stamped "GOTTLIEB HAMMESFAHR SOLINGEN. FOCHE" on one side and has a 2 symbol stamping on the other side. Cross guard exhibits some finish loss. Steel scabbard and leather belt strap with snap is in extremely fine overall condition.

As found in U.S. Vet estate. Fittings exhibit finish loss and pommel cap exhibits stress cracking. The black finish wood grip exhibits some wear. The RLB 2nd pattern grip starburst emblem exhibits minor wear and is tightly attached. The obverse of the cross guard has been "De-Nazified" and the reverse has a piece missing. Double edge steel blade exhibits spots of age graying and is maker marked "GUSTAV SPITZER". Original magnetic steel scabbard exhibits moderate finish to the factory black painted finish and age graying is evident to the plated finish on the scabbard tip fitting. A "been there" example for sure!

1st Model RLB Dagger For Enlisted-Possibly Late War/Early Post War By KRONECK

Bright steel blade still retains a lot of cross graining. Could possibly be attributed to the scarce maker of "KRONECK/ERNST ERICH WITTE, SOLINGEN" as this maker had a very lightly etched maker mark or in more uncommon cases, no evidence of a maker etched blade. Pebbled leather cross guard/scabbard throat washer is present and exhibits age. Nickel/chrome plated metal fittings exhibit crisp detail with pebbling evident in the swastika circle. However the detail is "soft" which is possibly indicative of an early post war "parts" dagger. The plated pommel cap exhibits minor finish loss and a few stress lines. The 1st pattern metal/enamel RLB starburst device exhibits minor enamel loss and appears to have been spot welded to the grip. Ebony finish pearwood grip exhibits very minimal wear. Steel magnetic scabbard with painted/anodized finish is dent free. Lower heavy nickel/chrome plated scabbard fitting with 2 retaining screws is also dent free. The hanger ring exhibits verdigris and does not swivel but should be an easy fix with oil. Overall in excellent condition and would be an attractive "filler" dagger for display!
