I am currently a 14 year old eighth grader from Piedmont, OK. I truly enjoy spending time in the barn, and putting in the work. My parents have instilled in me, that the show is truly won at home. I have gained so many life skills by spending time with my projects. My family shows both steers and barrows. When I am not in the barn, I enjoy playing competitive volleyball. My 4-h years began as a Clover bud when I was just 6 yrs old, caring for bottle calves. My first project when I turned 9 was a goat, after that a couple of heifers & then these last six years I have shown steers. I love showing steers!

I am a 6th grader at Mustang Horizon. I love showing lambs & pigs! This is my 4th year showing, and my favorite shows are the Canadian Co. Fair and OYE. My favorite lamb this year is Jerry, he is super sweet and has been a lot of fun to show. My favorite pig this year is Chessy the Chester. She and I went to lots of jackpot shows and we ended up fourth over-all Chester! I like feeding all of my animals every day. I also like exercising and training them to show.
I am active in 4-H and also play competitive soccer.

Callen Minard is a 15-year-old freshman at Piedmont High School. From an early age, he has always shown a love for animals, and he couldn't wait until the day he could have his own livestock. He then became a member of Yukon 4-H. With great excitement, Callen with his lamb Tony, will be attending his 6th Canadian County Livestock Show, and then they will continue on to compete in the long awaited Oklahoma Youth Expo. Callen loves traveling throughout the year with his lambs and his friends to shows and jackpots. He also enjoys playing baseball for Piedmont High School, spending time with his family and friends, and hanging out with his two dogs Otis and Walker. For his future, Callen hopes that his experiences during these years of showing his livestock will not only build lifelong friendships but also establish a foundation for a career as a vet where he can continue his passion for animals.

When she is not showing, her time is spent working her family's cow-calf operation and her shavings business. She is always willing to lend a hand and help the other members of the Yukon FFA and 4-H. I have learned so much over the last 9 years and still remain passionate about pigs. I also ran Cross-Country last fall and am running Track for Piedmont High School this spring. My name is Mercedez Mcnack. I'm in the 9th grade, and I attend Mustang High School. I joined the Mustang FFA Chapter at the start of this school year, to learn, understand, help, and appreciate the Agricultural Industry. I have only one lamb and his name is G.B. (aka Gary Busey like the snickers commercial-he gets the hangries at feeding time). He bounces impatiently around while waiting for me to bring his food. He has been a fun learning experience to show. I have learned several techniques that help me in the show ring. I have attended 5 shows and County Sale will mark my 6th and we round the last leg of our race to OYE. I feel that what I've learned thus far will only guide me to help me decide my future in the Agricultural world. My future job is to become a Veterinarian to work on large animals and common farming practices. With the end of the showing season approaching, my fondest memory of showing and having my lamb G.B. would be my first time in showmanship class, trying to get him to behave as he kept standing up and acting out. Because he knew, I was new at this whole showing thing and he took advantage of that! He got away from me a few times, but he learned fast that Im not a quitter! So I gained his trust. Besides showing, I also like to ride horses and barrel race. So my knowledge around animals isn't new to me. But I never stop learning new things. The care and dedication of our animals runs deep within my family. I will always strive to further my knowledge in learning Agriculture, the FFA organization, and Oklahoma 4H. To continue on being a voice for the voiceless.

My name is Maddox Shout, I am a 12 year old 7th grader from Piedmont, OK. I exhibited the 3rd best AOB and the 10th overall steer at 2021 Canadian County Spring Livestock Show. I am a sports enthusiast and enjoy spending time with my friends. In the near future, I am looking forward to showing my steer and barrows at OYE.

Hello, my name is Annabelle Blasius, I am a junior at Mustang High School and this is my 2nd year exhibiting livestock through the Mustang FFA Chapter. I have grown up on an acreage and we have always had animals of some type. I have always loved being outside with the animals. When I was younger, my family would go to the local county fair and the OK State Fair. My favorite thing to do at the fair was to go and look at all the animals. Since I was little, I knew that I wanted to show livestock. When I got to high school and had the opportunity to join FFA/AG I quickly jumped at the chance and joined. I used my freshman year to watch and learn about the different animals that Mustang showed because I was unsure what I wanted to exhibit. My sophomore year, I showed a wether goat. Having raised goats ourselves for pleasure, I thought that would be the easiest. I quickly learned that was a more difficult task. Goats are a pretty stubborn animal when it comes to showing them in my opinion. My friends were all showing sheep so I decided to try it this year. I have had more fun with the sheep and definitely find it easier than the goats. In May I got my first two sheep and I was so excited. As shows came and went, I got a little bit better every time. It wasn't until January when all of my hard work was finally beginning to pay off. I won my first show, I was so excited and will never forget that feeling. After that, I went on to win another show and have gradually gotten better and learned new things each time. I have worked hard everyday putting in time and hard work so that it would pay off. Owning and investing in "show animals" takes a lot of dedication through good and bad times. Whether it is a dry sunny day, cold rainy day, icy streets and no power, or snow storms and below freezing temps, it is a dedication to the animals and the sport of it. All of the hours I have put into my sheep have led up to this moment and I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to be able to exhibit my livestock with everything that has happened this year and during a global pandemic.

My name is Riley Shoaf , and I am 12 years old. I go to Redstone Intermediate school and I'm in 6th grade. I have been showing for 6 years, and I am not yet in FFA because I'm not old enough. I show pigs and the pig you are seeing above is Finn. I do plan on going to college, I do not know which one yet but I do plan on going. So that is a little bit about me, I hope you enjoyed this little description.

Mckenzie Armitage is a 10-year-old 4th grader at Southwest Covenant Christian School in Yukon. This is Mckenzie's second year to show but this is her first time showing at the Canadian County show, although her brothers have been showing for many years. She is part of the Yukon Miller 4-H club. In Mckenzie's free time, she likes talking on the phone to her friends, making crafts, baking and fishing down at the farm with her daddy.

Hello my name is Kennidee Keene I am a freshman at Mustang High School. I have shown sheep for the past 7 years and started showing goats 3 years ago. My family raises goats and I help with feeding and taking care of the babies. I really appreciate my parents for helping me with all the feeding and working on new skills. I am glad to be In ffa and I love showing. This year I exhibited 2 market goats and 3 market sheep. I am so excited to have won two Reserve divisions with my goats and a Breed Champion with my sheep. I hope to work with livestock after I graduate high school.

My name is Leighton Wedman and I am in 6th grade at Maple School. This is my second year as an El Reno 4-H member, but my first year to show livestock. I have loved learning how to care for my pigs and enjoy spending extra time with them. I have also met many new friends along the way. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing baseball, basketball, hunting, and fishing. Thank you for your support and helping me to continue this new adventure.

Hi! My name is Calin Kinder and my steer's name is Shadow. I am nine years old and a 3rd grader at Piedmont Elementary School and I am a member of the Banner 4-H Club. I have a twin sister Charli and we have been raising Mini Hereford cattle since we were 1. We have been showing those Bred and Owned Mini Herefords since we were 5. This is my first year to be able to show in 4- H and I am proud to say that I raised my own steer, yep I own the cow and the bull that Shadow is out of. When I am not working on my cattle in the barn, I love wrestling, playing baseball, fishing, dummy roping and watching bull riding. I love working with my animals and making friends at shows! I am thankful that we made the premium sale at my first county fair and I appreciate all of your support in advance.

This is Blakely Beams from Yukon, OK and she is a 3rd grader at Surrey Hills Elementary. This is her first year showing at the Canadian County Livestock Show. With a dad that is an Ag Teacher she has grown up around the Junior Livestock Show Program. She has helped her sister with her show steers for the last 5 years but has found her niche in the Hog barn. Her favorite thing to do is scratch her barrow "Smalls" and make him roll over. When she isn't walking, brushing, and feeding her pigs she is playing soccer and drawing. She has grown so much as a showman and a person this year.

My Name is Parker Symes. I have been active in 4H and FFA since I was 5 years old. I started out showing bucket calves at the county fair and then had my first goat when I was 9. I eventually decided that cattle was what I really had a passion for. Livestock comes naturally to me since I come from a farming background. Our main focus is raising cattle, but we also have horses, llamas, and hogs. We bale our own hay each year to feed our animals in the winter, and my dad taught us at a very young age how to drive a truck, tractor, and pull a trailer. I come from 3 generations of FFA family members, including my Grandfather Glen Symes, my Uncle Kenny Ray, and my father Calvin Symes. I study welding and horticulture in my high school Ag classes, and plan to attend Diesel Mechanics at the Vo-Tech next year. I enjoy working on diesel motors, and would like to eventually work somewhere that I could further my knowledge in this area. Next year will be my final year to show as I will be a senior. I plan to take the money I receive from this sale to help me buy the best steer I have had my showing career. Thank you in advance for considering a donation towards my Senior Project.

Hello, my name is Maggie Butler. I am a 17-year-old Junior at Yukon High School. I began showing livestock when I was 12. I have put most of my time into showing swine, but recently ventured out and got a lamb. Being part of the FFA has given me the ability to build some very strong relationships through the years and hope to continue those into my Senior year. Thank you for the opportunity to attend the Canadian County Livestock show and Premium Sale. I will use any bonus funds for my senior projects and college. Upon graduation, I plan to attend an in state university.

My name is Asher Bartlett and I am a senior at Mustang High School. I have been showing sheep for the last two years and am currently exhibiting 3 wether lambs. I have a natural, a cross, and a hamp lamb. I am also the President of the Mustang FFA Chapter. I participate in other FFA activities like Parliamentary Procedure. These past two years I have loved showing lambs more than anything and have had great experiences from showing. I have had the opportunity to show at the Stockman Showcase and the American Royal Livestock show this year, and I even placed top 10 in both classes at the American Royal Show. I plan to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall and double major in Agricultural Education and Marketing. I hope to be an Ag teacher for Oklahoma and continue my work with lambs.

MUSTANG FFA - Sheep

Avery Lester is a senior at Mustang High School. This is Averys fourth year showing lambs. He started with building his own small barn from the ground up, and has been working to improve it each year to care for his animals. He enjoys figuring out how different feed and exercise programs can develop each lamb. His breed champion Hampshire lamb is creatively named "Yellow Tag". Yellow Tag is Avery's first breed champion at Canadian County. Avery has been able to win classes at numerous shows and made the premium sale at the Tulsa State Fair the last two years.

Avery attends Canadian Valley Vo-tech, where he is working to become a certified welder. He was named oustanding student in the welding program for the 2020 fall semester. He plans to continue his welding training after high school, and would like to someday obtain a pilots license.

Hello, my name is Grady Lesperance and I am a 14 years old. I am a freshman at El Reno High School and this is my first year in FFA. I began the year doing Green Hand Quizzes and Opening and Closing Ceremonies, which I enjoy. This past fall I was presented with the opportunity to show pigs and I jumped at the chance! I have learned numerous life lessons through caring for and showing my pigs. It is a lot of hard work but I have enjoyed it! I'm excited that I made sale my first year and can't wait for many more years of life lessons through livestock.

This is Ella Danielson. Ella is 11 years old and attends Mustang Horizon Intermediate School, where she is in the 5th grade. Ella has been showing cattle for 2 years, and she has grown up on a farm. This is her steer, Billy Bob Joe (BBJ). BBJ is an OYE Futurity Steer, and Ella is hoping to win the show back at the 2021 OYE Futurity Show. Ella is also planning to show her steer in OYE Market Steer Show. When Ella is not working with her show cattle, she enjoys spending time with her family camping, fishing and playing cards. She is the team building leader for Banner 4-H.
