After World War II, the automobile industry began to experiment with new innovations and the production of domestic motor vehicles exploded. America was optimistic as the economy expanded and average citizens could afford passenger vehicles and trucks. 

Henry J Kaiser and Edgar Kaiser founded Kaiser Motors in Willow Run, Michigan in 1945. The product line surged at first to include the Manhattan and Virginian but the company did not have long term resources to survive the competition from the big 3; GM, Ford and Chrysler. All Kaiser automobiles were powered by the reliable flathead 6 cylinder engine while the new V8 engine was be introduced by the big 3. A plan to purchase an Oldsmobile V8 engine in order to compete was thwarted when the plant building the V8 engine burned down. The rest is history as Kaiser Motors production ceased in 1953.

This vehicle was purchased from the estate of William D Bracken who resided in Colleyville, TX. The vehicle was originally purchased on May 5th, 1951 by Snowden Girdley from the Jones Sales Company in Burns City, Indiana;

The vehicle was purchased by Loren A Evenrude from the estate of William D Bracken on November 7th, 2018.

To put Pontiac on the same page as Cadillac, the design staff at GM made the 1957 Bonneville. It was a fully-loaded convertible or coupe that came with the fuel-injected V8 engine found, primarily, on the Chevrolet Corvette when the system was introduced in May of 1957.

The company built just 630 of these Bonneville convertibles in 1957, the first year that famous nameplate was used, allowing for the allocation of just one car to each Pontiac dealer in the United States, and each one fully equipped with a bevy of standard equipment, such as power steering, power brakes, Wonderbar radio with electric antenna, leather seating surfaces, and power seats.

All of the Bonnevilles were painted white (Kenya Ivory) with either a blue or red spear that ran from the front wheel all the way to the tail lamps. Interiors were white with matching red or blue trim. Coming in at a sticker price of $5,800, it was twice the price of its brethren, the Star Chief Catalina.
