Stockinette doll with stitch-shaped facial features, pronounced nose, smiling expression with stitch-defined dimples, painted grey-shadowed brows, blue eyes with accent dots, grey mohair wig, wearing studio original costume comprising red gown with black lambswool trim and muff, velvet bonnet, undergarments. Excellent condition. Bernard Rava, the French stockinette cloth artist of the 1920s who during the 1930s immigrated to America where he lived the remainder of his life. This rare model depicts "Lady of 1890" according to the original wrist tag, circa 1930s.

Each is all cloth with stitch-shaped and painted facial features, brunette mohair wig, wearing original very elaborate royalty costumes depicting British Royalty at the 1937 coronation of King George VI, including King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret, Queen Mother, Archbishop of Canterbury, Archbishop of York, Royal Guardsman and Lord High Chancellor. Marks: Liberty of London (cloth tags). Very fine original condition except Lord in black robes whose face is worn. Liberty of London, circa 1937, the prestige London textile firm created the dolls under special permission to portray the royal family at the important event. To find the set in its entirely is extremely rare especially in this pristine condition.

Each has stockinette face with stitch-sculpted and painted features, armature posable cloth body, and each is elaborately-costumed in authentically-detailed Syrian costumes. Excellent condition. Three dolls have "Baronne Belling" labels and three others have "Made in Syria Rouani Brothers Syria" labels. The Russian aristocrat Sandra Belling was known for her creation of artistic cloth dolls during the early years of the 20th century. After she and her family fled to Syria, escaping the Russian Revolution, she, along with the help of her family, continued the creation of fine dolls until about the end of the 1940s. The complete story of Sandra Belling was told in an article in Doll News, Winter 2010.

Excellent condition. From the series of American political figures of the mid-1900s created in the Ravca studios by Bernard Ravca, during his early years as an American citizen. The figure depicts Idaho Senator Glen Taylor (1945-1951) who also ran for Vice President on the Progressive Party ticket in 1948. He was considered one of the most liberal members of the US Senate and was very active in the early civil rights movement and was known popularly as "The Singing Cowboy" and various eccentric behaviors.

Ada Lum created her dolls in Shanghai during the 1930s/40s during the Japanese occupation era; her dolls were especially marketed toward the wealthy international society of that time and era. Excellent condition except water stain on one side of face. The dolls are rare to find, although distinctively recognizable.

Very good/excellent, slight dustiness. Marks: Lenci (original cloth and paper labels). Lenci, 1930s, the doll is based on early Hollywood child star Jackie Coogan in his signature role as The Kid, and is wearing original costume of black patched trousers, tan felt shirt, rose felt scarf, brown brimmed hat with black felt lattice appliques, black felt shoes.

The doll and costume are in fair condition, hair sparse at front crown, spotting on body. Original cloth label on dress "Fany (script) Paris Hotel Claridge Nice Hotel Negresco". Although worn, the doll is an interesting study piece with maker's label, likely intended to represent Shirley Temple. Circa 1930s.
