***Auction Highlight*** Mint Error 1863 US Fractional Currency 50c Second Issue fr-1318 Washington In Oval Grades Select AU. Fractional or postage currency has a rich history. At the beginning of the Civil War people starting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Three cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents, and fifty cents notes were all issued. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number.

It shows a portrait of Jefferson and an old vignette of the Capitol building from way back in the day. The reverse features a prominent fancy "2" surrounded by a "bracelet" of seals. The intricate engraving, the bold red seal, and serial number create a fantastic image; You can't stop studying it! This is the last large size $2 legal tender note ever printed.

1899 "Black Eagle" Large Size $1 Silver Certificate FR-233 Grades vf, very fine. Ranked #16 in the 100 Greatest American Currency Notes, the Series 1899 Black Eagle note is from an era when paper money was backed by precious silver, as the issue bears the statement ONE SILVER DOLLAR PAYABLE TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND. It doesn’t take much work to figure out the nickname of the 1899 $1 silver certificate. A quick glance shows three vignettes, an eagle, Ulysses S Grant, and Abraham Lincoln. Somewhere along the way the collecting world decided that this note should be called a “black eagle.” The name has stuck. Whether you have been collected for a week or your entire life, you certainly know what a black eagle is. Grant and Lincoln often get overlooked. That might be for the best since both men are closely associated with several other large size pieces of currency. The small 12.7 mm diameter of the Type I gold dollar brought about a few complaints of it being easy to lose, like the silver trime. To address this, Longacre enlarged the diameter to 14.3 mm, but he also completely revised the design, replacing it with an Indian design with a crown of feathers resembling his design on the newly introduced three-dollar gold piece. He also moved the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA to the obverse from the reverse. The reverse laurel wreath was replaced with the cereal wreath Longacre employed on the three-dollar denomination and that was later adopted for the Flying Eagle cent. Even with these design changes, challenges faced Mint personnel when striking the coins. Because the weight of the denomination remained unchanged, the coins were made slightly thinner. The obverse Indian head bust of Liberty was in too high a relief for the thinner planchets, and most examples displayed poor definition in and around the centers. To further complicate matters, the dies often clashed early and frequently during press runs, and many survivors exhibit numerous pronounced clash marks. Bowers estimates 90% of all 1854 Type II dollars bear such clash marks on one or both sides. These striking deficiencies prompted the third and final redesign in 1856, enlarging the bust and flattening its relief profile.

Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

A brilliant and smartly impressed beauty drenched in satiny mint luster. The history of the 1898-O Morgan dollar is similar to that of the more widely promoted 1903-O. From the year of striking nearly into the middle of the 20th century the 1898-O was a phantom among silver dollars, especially in Mint State. It is likely that much of the mintage was included among the 270,232,722 silver dollars destroyed in 1918 under provisions of the Pittman Act. The availability of the 1898-O in Mint State did not change until the silver dollar releases of the early 1960s. And change it did, in dramatic fashion. Thousands of 1898-O dollars, along with 1903-O, 1904-O, and other dates were released. The eventual number of 1,000-coin bags involved is unknown but obviously substantial given the fact that the 1898-O is among the most plentiful Morgan dollars in Mint State. As one of the finest known, this MS-67+ is an impressive condition rarity equally well suited for a high grade type set or an advanced Morgan dollar collection. This is a highly lustrous, brilliant-white example with swirling cartwheel visual effects to both sides. The 1884-S is one of several issues in this series that are readily obtainable in circulated condition but develop into significant condition rarities in Mint State. It is likely that the vast majority of the 3,200,000-piece mintage was placed into circulation during the final years of the 19th century through the early decades of the 20th century. Countless others may have been melted under the terms of the 1918 Pittman Act, although some Uncirculated coins survived in storage in both the San Francisco Mint and at the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. Quantities in both locations were limited, however, and it appears that mostly individual examples were paid out at widely spaced intervals from the 1920s through the 1950s. Q. David Bowers (1993) does speak of a few bags emerging from storage in the San Francisco Mint during the 1950s, but the number of Mint State 1884-S dollars from all sources is in no way sufficient to meet current market demand for this popular and widely collected series.

This Commemorative marked an event of purely local interest, and realized poor sales at the time of issue. In the irony that often accompanies such initial failure, it is now among the Scarcer and More Costly Coins in the old commemorative series. This bill authorized the coining of not more than 25,000 half dollars, to be coined at a single mint and with a single design. The entire mintage of 25,013 Norfolk halves was coined in September at the Philadelphia Mint (the odd 13 pieces were reserved for assay and later destroyed). Points to check for wear include the lower left of each sail and the highpoints of the mace.

This type as a whole is conditionally rare in MS-67, however, and much more so than the preceding Morgan silver dollar series. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

At the beginning of the Civil War people starting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

This is an outstanding, high end MS-64 to represent the conditionally challenging 1886-O silver dollar. Sharply struck with fulsome mint luster, both sides also possess a brilliant silver white appearance. Illustrative of one of the situations that make the Morgan dollar series so appealing to numismatists, this issue is far scarcer in Mint State than the 1883-O, 1884-O and 1885-O despite having a higher mintage (10,710,000 coins for the 1886-O as opposed to, for example, 9,185,000 pieces for the 1885-O). Given that the 1886-O is plentiful in worn condition, millions of examples likely found their way into circulation beginning in the late 19th century. The 1922 $50 gold certificate is a simple design with lots of white space, designed to draw the eye to engraved elements that were present, in keeping with the design philosophy of the time. A large portrait of Ulysses S. Grant is the focal point of the face flanked by gold design elements including a 50 protector, serial numbers, and the Treasury seal. The back printed in a gold-orange color has a simple denomination counter. The print run of this variety was 5,184,000. The surviving population is in the hundreds. The Series of 1922 notes have an inscription, not present on the earlier issues, in the left field, "THIS CERTIFICATE IS A LEGAL TENDER / IN THE AMOUNT THEREOF IN PAYMENT OF ALL / DEBTS AND DUES, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE / ACTS OF MARCH 14, 1900, AS AMENDED / ON DECEMBER 24, 1919." Bold, handsome patina in reddish-honey blankets surfaces that retain plenty of frosty to modestly semi-reflective luster. Unlike most of the double eagles produced in this period, those struck at the Carson City Mint tended to remain close to their place of origin, serving the local community's needs for many years. This was certainly the case for the 115,085 double eagles coined at the Carson City Mint in 1874 which immediately entered commerce and stayed there. With little, if any, numismatic interest at the time in much of the Western frontier, there was essentially no effort to preserve any in high grade. Some managed to make their way in the course of trade throughout the country and eventually in sacks of other double eagles that ended up in overseas holdings, but by this time most had already seen considerable wear. When these coins made their way back stateside in the 1940s and later, few high grade examples were among these survivors. Only a few examples come close to Mint State and even when they do it is not above MS-62. ***Auction Highlight*** 1837 Reeded Edge Capped Bust Half Dollar 50c Graded ms65+ By SEGS. This richly original and expertly preserved Gem makes a bold visual impression. Both sides exhibit even mottled toning in sandy-silver, and antique steel-gray. The strike is razor sharp throughout, and billowy mint luster is Intense and virtually undisturbed to suggest an even higher Mint State rating. In 1836, the Mint installed its first steam-powered press, a development that would not only drastically improve productivity, but also impart a greater uniformity that would help deter counterfeiters. To accommodate the new press, the half dollar was given a make over by the recently appointed Assistant Engraver Christian Gobrecht. For the obverse, Gobrecht largely maintained the same design that had been in use for nearly 30 years at this point but reduced the size of the stars and significantly slenderized the bust of Liberty. On the reverse, Gobrecht's changes are much more noticeable. Gone is the scroll and motto and the denomination is now rendered as 50 CENTS with the entire reverse in a beaded border. The new steam press could not effectively apply a lettered edge with the closed collar, so instead a reeded edge was employed. The coin's diameter was slightly reduced and the silver's fineness changed to a much more easily worked 0.900 standard. While a small number were struck in 1836, it was not until 1837 that production hit its stride with 3,629,820 pieces coined. The 50 CENTS reverse was only employed in 1836 and 1837 before the denomination was changed the following year to HALF DOL. The Reeded Edge series has been in a collecting gray area for years, lying between the popular Bust halves and the Seated Liberty issues in terms of die studies. Fortunately, recent scholarship by Dick Graham has been able to shed more details on the series. Courtesy of the substantial mintage, examples can be found in Mint State with only a modest amount of effort, but like their earlier cousins these are mostly at the lower end of the spectrum. Truly Gem examples are quite rare and in high demand by both type collectors and half dollar aficionados. With interest in this transitional series steadily growing, an example with superb eye appeal will attract considerable notice. TIED for Finest Known at PCGS and SEGS and a half point behind the Finest at NGC. This is a delightful Premium Gem, fully struck with smooth surfaces and vivid golden-orange and pinkish-red luster. The recorded mintage of the San Francisco Mint's initial contribution to the Lincoln cent series came in at a paltry 484,000 pieces. After these examples were produced coinage stopped when unfounded newspaper articles complained about the prominence of the designer's initials, V.D.B., along the lower reverse border. Accordingly, Treasury Department officials mandated their removal, and Lincoln cent coinage continued without the designer's initials until 1918, after Brenner's death, when they were quietly added to a less conspicuous place along the base of Lincoln's shoulder. Widely saved at the time by contemporary Americans looking for a keepsake of the new small cent, the 1909-S V.D.B. is more plentiful in Mint State than the limited mintage might imply. Thomas is considered by many students of the Civil War to be the most underrated of the Union generals. George Henry Thomas was a United States Army officer and a Union general during the American Civil War, one of the principal commanders in the Western Theater. The Treasury Note (also known as a Coin Note) was a type of representative money issued by the United States government from 1890 until 1893 under authority of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act in denominations of $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 and $1000. It was issued in two series: an 1890 series with $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $100 and $1000 denominations, and an 1891 series that added the $50 denomination. A $500 note was designed but never issued.[3] A distinguishing feature of the Series 1890 notes (and one that greatly appeals to collectors) is the extremely ornate designs on the reverse side of the notes. The intent of this was to make counterfeiting much more difficult, but opponents of the design argued that the extensive detail would make it more difficult to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit notes. Consequently, the reverse designs were simplified on the Series 1891 Treasury Notes issued the following year.

Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

1874 10c Fractional Currency, 5th Issue, Short Key Grades AU Details. Fractional or postage currency has a rich history. At the beginning of the Civil War people starting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Three cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents, and fifty cents notes were all issued. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number.

Ranked #16 in the 100 Greatest American Currency Notes, the Series 1899 Black Eagle note is from an era when paper money was backed by precious silver, as the issue bears the statement ONE SILVER DOLLAR PAYABLE TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND. It doesn’t take much work to figure out the nickname of the 1899 $1 silver certificate. A quick glance shows three vignettes, an eagle, Ulysses S Grant, and Abraham Lincoln. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a collection of old 1960?s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn?t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

1922 Large Size $10 Gold Certificate Fr-1173 Speelman/White Grades vf+. It is hard to believe that large size ten dollar gold certificates were only issued in 1907 and 1922. The United States first printed gold certificates in the early 1860s. For some reason they never printed the ten dollar denomination until 1907. 1922 was the last year of the large size gold Certificate Currnecy. In 1928 paper money was changed to the size we are accustomed to seeing today. The portrait of Alexander Hamilton was used instead of the virtually unknown Michael Hillegas. Hillegas was the first treasurer of The United States. Perhaps if Hillegas had died in a duel then he would be better remembered today. All 1922 $10 gold certificates were signed by Speelman and White. Interestingly enough, there is a small variety for the series. Some notes have smaller serial numbers than the standard numbers. The small serial number notes do command a slight premium, especially in higher grades.

Only about 100 Still In Existance Offered is a worthy example of one our nation's first "Greenbacks." This 1861 $5 Demand Note was produced by the American Bank Note Company using a patented steel plate process developed over decades of producing bank notes for state chartered banks. The statue pictured at left on the face is Freedom, by Thomas Crawford, which sits atop the United States Capitol. Founding father Alexander Hamilton is portrayed in the bottom right corner on the face.These Demand Notes were the first widely circulated, federally issued notes since the Continental Currency notes of the late 18th century. Each example is hand signed by two Treasury officials for the register of the Treasury and treasurer of the United States. The Act of July 17, 1861, amended on August 5, authorized a new $250 million loan, comprising mostly Interest-Bearing Notes and bonds, but also including $50 million in currency to be known as Demand Notes, a new series.In contrast to Interest-Bearing Notes, Demand Notes were made in lower denominations for widespread popular distribution. As these bore no interest they were in effect a free loan to the government. The $5 (as here), $10, and $20 values gave them wide appeal.Plates were engraved and notes were printed by the American Bank Note Company in New York City under a contract signed on July 25, 1861. The Act of August 5, 1861, added details, including convertibility, if desired by the holder, of the Demand Notes into long-term bonds paying 6% annual interest.The backs of Demand Notes were printed in green ink, quickly giving rise to the term greenback, although this was more widely applied to the later Legal Tender Notes issued in far greater quantities. Today in popular parlance, green is the "color of money." The Demand Notes do not bear the Treasury Seal, as there was no requirement for this in the amended legislation of August 5, 1861.The first Demand Notes were paid out in August 1861 and used to pay government salaries in Washington. Soon thereafter, notes were given to Union soldiers, defense contractors, and others to whom the government was obligated. This form of payment was not welcomed by the recipients, who preferred "hard money" in the form of coins. While not Technically a Coin, a Note or a Stamp, John Gault’s Encased Postage was king of currency For a Brief Year in 1862. When The Civil war Broke out in 1861, all of the “Hard Currency” quickly Dissapeared. But people still needed to purchase a 3¢ loaf of bread, a 1¢ newspaper, a 5¢ quart of milk and countless other goods that required coins. And vendors had to make change when an item’s price was less than a nickel, a dime or a quarter. In some cities, businesses gave customers I.O.Us, private companies created “Civil War tokens” and paper money was cut into several pieces to represent a fraction of a dollar. Clever remedies for sure, but none that were widely used or accepted. All of this radically changed on July 17, 1862, when Congress decided to address the coinage shortage and passed a law that allowed postage stamps to satisfy debts of less than $5. People began to carry stamps in their purses and pockets and used them repeatedly for daily purchases. Vendors gladly accepted the stamps as payment. But all of this hand-to-hand usage quickly resulted in damaged stamps with denominations sometimes unrecognizable. The local post offices would not exchange damaged stamps for new ones, so a remedy was needed. John Gault, a New York entrepreneur, decided he had the best solution. On August 12, 1862, Gault obtained a patent for a “postage stamp case”, or as he named the item in a newspaper advertisement, the “New Metallic Currency. Gault didn’t sell the encased stamps to the public. Instead, he sold them to stores and businesses that needed “coinage” to make change for customers’ purchases. Gault’s profit came from the 20% markup over the face value of the stamp. To increase his potential profit, Gault’s second idea was to inscribe advertising on the back of the encased stamp. He would charge companies who purchased the metallic currency an additional 2¢ for each item. Encased stamps were widely accepted in the general commerce realm until later in 1862 when the government issued “fractional currency”. This legitimate, government-sanctioned currency quickly eliminated the coin shortage. Having no other value than the stamp, people tore apart the encasements of their metallic currency to remove the stamp to use as postage. Thus the scarcity of the 1862 encased stamps today. Both sides exhibit a base of warm sandy-grey patina, the obverse with glints of rich charcoal-russet around the periphery and central device. Billowy mint luster throughout, the surfaces exceptionally smooth for a type that is typically offered no finer than MS-64. The Missouri commemorative half dollar was issued to mark the 100th anniversary of the admission of that state into the Union. The authorizing Act of March 4, 1921, allowed for a maximum mintage of 250,000 coins, but in the end only 50,000 pieces were struck: 5,000 with 2x4 in the left obverse field signifying Missouri's status as the 24th state, and 45,000 without this added feature. Lagging sales resulted in 29,600 examples of the plain variant being returned to the Mint for melting, although all of the 2x4 examples were distributed. The Obverse Depicts Daniel Boone, even though he was best known for his exploits in Kentucky, since he made his home in Missouri for the last quarter of his life. When examining a Missouri Centennial for wear, on the obverse, friction first shows on Boone's cheek and on the hair behind his ear and shoulder. Collectors have given this note the nickname of the “Flying Eagle.” The back of the note shows why the bill received its nickname. 1870's US Fractional Currency 15¢ Fourth Issue Fr-1271 Grades vf+. Fractional or postage currency has a rich history. At the beginning of the Civil War people starting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Three cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents, and fifty cents notes were all issued. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number.

Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

Our Uncirculated Roll Weighs 536.7 Grams, so the Wrappers weigh 2.3 Grams. The Roll at hand weighs 536.66 Grams. Deducting the Wrapper Weight of 2.3 Grams, the average coin in this roll weights 26.71 Grams. Your going to find in this roll a lot of Uncirculated coins and a few sliders. This is a Very Near Solid roll of Uncirculated Peace Dollars

1863 25c Fractional Currency, fourth issue George Washington Grades f+. Fractional or postage currency has a rich history. At the beginning of the Civil War people starting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Three cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents, and fifty cents notes were all issued. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number.\

This roll is held in an old Steel strong wrapper, patented 1921, stamped "Bankers Trust Company of Philadelphia, Walnut Street at Juniper. This roll contains 20, 1921-s Morgan silver Dollars. The coins may range from circulated to uncirculated. Any condition is possible. We have weighed the roll and can assure you that it is 20 Silver Dollars, that all 20 are 1921-s and that it is not an uncirculated roll as the weight comes in slightly under the 534.60 grams that a fully uncirculated roll would weigh. We recently Acquired a large Estate Hoard of solid date Rolls. Trends lists au50 at $54, xf40 at $46, vf20 at $42, f12 at $30, vg8 at $30, g4 at $30.

1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii WWII Emergency Currency Rare PC Block Grades f+. The $1 Hawaii Note Came in 7 Blocks the SC Block Which is the most common, The LC, PC (This Note), CC, and YB Blocks are All equialy as rare but are much less common then the SC Block. Then there are the ZB and AC Blocks which are Very Rare. 1935a $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades. It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor. Everybody in Hawaii was sitting on pins and needles. Were the Japanese preparing a massive invasion of the islands? If they did invade, they could use the millions of dollars in currency on the islands to buy war material. To thwart this, these $1 Federal Reserve Notes were sent to the islands. Each has a large HAWAII printed on the reverse. If the Japanese did invade, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "Hawaii" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.
