***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Aladdin 1918 Walker & 1951 F Lot #91 (Sale Order 59 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Aladdin 1918 Walker & 1951 Franklin Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

1899 "Black Eagle" Large Size $1 Silver Certificate FR-233 Grades vg, very good Lot #102 (Sale Order 66 of 584) 1899 "Black Eagle" Large Size $1 Silver Certificate FR-233 Grades vg, very good. Ranked #16 in the 100 Greatest American Currency Notes, the Series 1899 Black Eagle note is from an era when paper money was backed by precious silver, as the issue bears the statement ONE SILVER DOLLAR PAYABLE TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND. It doesn’t take much work to figure out the nickname of the 1899 $1 silver certificate. A quick glance shows three vignettes, an eagle, Ulysses S Grant, and Abraham Lincoln. Somewhere along the way the collecting world decided that this note should be called a “black eagle.” The name has stuck. Whether you have been collected for a week or your entire life, you certainly know what a black eagle is. Grant and Lincoln often get overlooked. That might be for the best since both men are closely associated with several other large size pieces of currency. There are 12 Different Signatures combinations For this Type of note this one is FR#233 TEHEE-BURKE

***Auction Highlight*** 1915-s Panama Pacific Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms64 By SEGS (fc) Lot #131 (Sale Order 88 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** 1915-s Panama Pacific Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms64 By SEGS. Exceptionally Rare Commemorative. The Pan Pac was Minted Along with 4 Other Coins to Commemorate the Completion of the Panama Canal and Distributed at the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco which also Celebrated the Renewal of San Francisco since the Great Fire. When Examining the Pan Pac Half Dollar, Note that there is a Problem with Pan-Pac Halves in its Strike: Weakness is often Evident on Columbia’s Head, Cap, Arm and Body, also on the Eagle's Breast Feathers and Claws. Occasionally, Coins are seen with a Rim Indentation Near the Periphery on Each Side; this is a Mint Caused Problem and Should Not Be Factored Into the Grade. When Grading Lightly Circulated Examples, Friction is First Evident on Columbia's Shoulder and on the Eagle's Breast. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win Coin

In 1896, the U.S. Treasury printed Silver Certificates with beautiful designs depicting educational motifs. Known as the “Educational Series,” each of these notes is a numismatic masterpiece. They’re also incredibly difficult to come by. We’ve managed to Bring to auction a $2 note depicting an allegorical figure of Science presenting Steam and Electricity to Commerce and Manufacture, paired with a reverse featuring Samuel Morse (inventor of the Morse code and telegraph) and steamship pioneer Robert Fulton! Due to their theme, these notes became known as “Two Dollar Eds,” although in some circles they are known as “Fulton” or “Morse” notes in reference to the portraits of the two famous Americans on the back of the bill. Still, it’s the beautifully and intricately-engraved images on the front of the bill that are truly inspiring – making it arguably the most classically beautiful two-dollar bill ever printed! In the center is the allegorical figure of Science presenting two children, Steam and Electricity, to the more mature figures of Commerce on the left and Manufacture on the right. Issued just before the Turn of the Century, the novelty of Steam and Electricity was still new and their portrayals as youths, while Science, Industry, and Commerce are all mature women effectively illustrates where America was at that time regarding these new forms of power. In the book 100 Greatest Currency Notes by Q. David Bowers, the $2 Educational Note is ranked #11.

***Auction Highlight*** 1877 Indian Cent 1c Graded vf30 By SEGS (fc) Lot #147 (Sale Order 102 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** 1877 Indian Cent 1c Graded vf30 By SEGS. The Key Date to the whole Indian Cent Series. According to Jaime Hernandez from PCGS, ‘The 1877 Indian Cent is unquestionably the most desirable coin in the entire circulation strike Indian Cent series. It is the second lowest mintage coin in the series, and only the 1909-S Indian cent has a lower mintage. Despite the 1877 Indian cent having the second lowest mintage in the series, it also survives in much smaller numbers than the 1909-S Indian cent. This is mainly due to the lack of coins being collected in 1877 compared to 1909. There is only one reverse die confirmed as striking all existing 1877 Indian cents. However, if there was only one reverse die employed to strike all (877,000)1877 Indian cents, then this lone die should have sustained major planchet flaws when striking such a large mintage. Surprisingly, this is not the case since 1877 cents show no traces of a damaged die. Therefore, it is strongly believed that the mintage of 877,000 coins struck, is actually a highly inflated figure. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away Coin

Ten dollar legal tender notes from 1880 are typically called Jackass notes by collectors.$10 “Jackass Note,” Series of 1869 to 1880, was ranked 71st most beautiful note in the book 100 Greatest American Currency Notes compiled by Bowers and Sundman. Bust of Daniel Webster, U.S. Congressman and Senator; Secretary of State in 1841 and from 1850-1852. Engraved by Alfred Sealey. At the right, Indian Princess Pocahontas being presented to England’s royal court. ***Auction Highlight*** 1787 New Jersey Maris 31-L R-3 Colonial Cent 1c Graded xf40 By SEGS (fc) Lot #160 (Sale Order 115 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** 1787 New Jersey Maris 31-L R-3 Colonial Cent 1c Graded xf40 By SEGS. ??1787 New Jersey copper. Maris 31-L. Rarity-3. Outlined Shield. An exciting example from this die marriage, struck from the shattered state of the dies, Die State 4. The central obverse is now entirely bucked, and the horizontal crack from E of CAESAREA across the horsehead to near O of NOVA is the least of this die’s problems. The crack from the base of the horsehead device through the plow is so severe that the areas of the die face on either side are now on two different planes. Another curved crack from E of CAESAREA arcs upward to the snout, and a severe crack from the rim below N of NOVA extends up to the central obverse with force. A lighter crack, nearly parallel to that one, extends from the end of the plow handles to the left side of the scroll under the horsehead. The die could not have withstood the pressure of striking coppers much beyond this point. This specimen is chocolate brown, mostly smooth and appealing, with no notable problems. The both the obverse and reverse are very well centered and most of the denticles are visible. This is not Condition Census for the die variety but it may be for this visually impressive terminal die state. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin

1936 Norfolk Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Grades GEM++ Unc Lot #189 (Sale Order 137 of 584) 1936 Norfolk Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Grades GEM++ Unc. The Norfolk Half Dollar Honors the Bicentennial of Norfolk, Virginia's elevation to the status of Borough in 1736. This Commemorative marked an event of purely local interest, and realized poor sales at the time of issue. In the irony that often accompanies such initial failure, it is now among the Scarcer and More Costly Coins in the old commemorative series. This bill authorized the coining of not more than 25,000 half dollars, to be coined at a single mint and with a single design. The entire mintage of 25,013 Norfolk halves was coined in September at the Philadelphia Mint (the odd 13 pieces were reserved for assay and later destroyed). Points to check for wear include the lower left of each sail and the highpoints of the mace.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino The Mint 1912 Barber & 1929 Lot #211 (Sale Order 151 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino The Mint 1912 Barber & 1929 Walker Ends. Good Luck.

1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Choice Unc Lot #348 (Sale Order 221 of 584) 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Choice Unc. The 27-p is the big sleeper of numismatics in my opinion. It has the 2nd lowest mintage in the whole Peace dollar series. Lower than the 34-s, the 21-p, yet it does not command its proper value. Good coin to own multiple of and save, in my opinion, but if you've been coming to our auctions for a while you will have seen that this has always been my opinion.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Silver City 1907 Barber & 19 Lot #395 (Sale Order 251 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Silver City 1907 Barber & 1929 Walker Ends. Good Luck.

Hugh McCulloch was an American financier who played a central role in financing the American Civil War. He served two non-consecutive terms as U.S. Treasury Secretary under three presidents. The series of 1902 Hugh McCulloch twenty dollar blue seal national bank was issued by national banks in all fifty states and even in Puerto Rico as well. National bank notes are different from other nationally printed currency in that they are printed specifically for each individual chartered bank organization. This assisted greatly in creating a system of bank notes that were the same across the country. This aided in travelers knowing what they were spending and receiving in change, rather than the times when each bank and state printed their own currency with their own designs. The National Bank Note system was abandoned shortly after the changeover to smaller size notes in 1929, making the third charter notes the last truly used issue of this kind. ***Auction Highlight*** Rare 1934 $1000 Frderal Reseve Note FR-2211G-dgs Chicago, IL Graded vf25 By Lot #458 (Sale Order 303 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** Rare 1934 $1000 Frderal Reseve Note FR-2211G-dgs Chicago, IL Graded vf25 By PMG. Last $1000 Federal Reserve NoteToday it seems that $100 bills disappear from our wallets as fast as $20 bills used to. But back in 1934, $500 and $1,000 bills were the largest denomination Federal Reserve Notes in circulation. They were used primarily for bank-to-bank transactions, so ordinary folks never saw them, and, even if they had, they couldn't save them. So, when they were withdrawn from circulation years ago, most were destroyed, making them very hard to find today.

***Auction Highlight*** Ultra Rare 1891 $1 Trteasury Note "Stanton Note" FR-351 Tilman-Morgan Grades Lot #474 (Sale Order 317 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** Ultra Rare 1891 $1 Trteasury Note "Stanton Note" FR-351 Tilman-Morgan Grades xf+. Way out in the Wild, Wild West of the 19th century, folks liked carrying big Silver Dollars around in their pockets. But, back East, folks didn't. Their solution: Treasury Notes. When the Treasury Department purchased a dollar's worth of silver bullion, they gave the seller a $1 note that was redeemable at any time for silver or gold. It was literally a receipt. This satisfied the Easterners who could then carry the notes in their wallets. This 1891 $1 note features Lincoln's Secretary of War Edwin Stanton. It's one of the most intricately engraved notes, showing a red Treasury seal, serial numbers and three ornate patterns on the reverse. Compared to other types of notes, these were issued in small quantities (only as many as the silver the Treasury bought). And, because they were "as good as gold," they were a preferred means of exchange and circulated heavily. As a result, these Stanton Notes are very hard to find today. Edwin M Stanton is the bearded man on the left hand side of the bill. Edwin McMasters Stanton was an American lawyer and politician who served as Secretary of War under the Lincoln Administration during most of the American Civil War. Stanton's management helped organize the massive military resources of the North and guide the Union to victory

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Flamingo 1951 Franklin & 193 Lot #515 (Sale Order 345 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Flamingo 1951 Franklin & 1938 Walker Ends. Good Luck.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Sahara 1927 Walker & 1899 Ba Lot #691 (Sale Order 440 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Sahara 1927 Walker & 1899 Barber Ends. Good Luck.

1928 $10 Gold Certificate, Signatures Woods/Mellon Grades xf Lot #706 (Sale Order 452 of 584) 1928 $10 Gold Certificate, Signatures Woods/Mellon Grades xf. Alexander Hamilton is the central subject of this scarce $10 gold note, issued because of a change in the size of United States currency beginning with all series dated 1928. This change in the size of America’s currency came about from a study that had determined that printing smaller currency would save the government a hefty amount of money in production cost. Because of the nature of gold certificates – each one accompanied the deposit of gold coins – they are somewhat scarce to begin with, as gold is far more scarce than silver. Add to that the decision to drop the gold standard by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933, thus making owning gold coin (or notes promising gold coin) illegal, and you end up with a series of notes that was printed, then recalled less than six years after their initial issue. Many of the notes were destroyed when turned in, and few of them survived. Fortunately for collectors, the restriction for owning gold certificates as collectibles was repealed by Treasury Secretary C. Douglas Dillon in 1964, but the damage had been done to the stockpiles of said notes. Not many remain of the millions that had originally been issued prior to the depression.

***Auction Highlight*** 1923 $5 Large Size Silver Certificate "Lincoln Porthole" FR-282 Grades AU, A Lot #740 (Sale Order 481 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** 1923 $5 Large Size Silver Certificate "Lincoln Porthole" FR-282 Grades AU, Almost Unc. The Series 1923 $5 Silver Certificate features a portrait of Abraham Lincoln, a man who has become a familiar fixture on our nation’s $5 bills. Lincoln, who served as the 16th president of the United States and helped restore the Union during the Civil War, was assassinated on April 14, 1865, at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C., by stage actor and Confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth. In the years after Lincoln’s assassination came many tributes to the fallen president, including the placement of his likeness on everything from coins to stamps. He was also memorialized on United States paper currency, with posthumous appearances on Fractional Notes and Silver Certificates in the late 19th century. And when the time came for a new round of Silver Certificates in 1923, Lincoln was the subject of choice for the $5 piece. However, the placement of his portrait, within a perfectly circular frame, was not well received by the public. Some thought it resembled the appearance of the President as seen through the barrel of a gun. The fervency behind this controversy eventually subsided and the Lincoln vignette on the note eventually became known by the more benign “Lincoln Porthole” nickname, a reference to the circular windows often seen on ships.Today, the Lincoln Porthole $5 is one of the most sought-after pieces among the expansive catalog of United States large-size notes. Perhaps 5,000 survive today across all grades, and they are particularly scarce in higher grades.

***Auction Highlight*** The Famous Ten-Dollar "Bison Note" of 1901 $10 Grades vf+ (fc) Lot #770 (Sale Order 507 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** The Famous Ten-Dollar "Bison Note" of 1901 $10 Grades vf+. One of the most sought-after notes in the world. The Series 1901 $10 Legal Tender Note symbolizes the spirit of our frontier past with a beautifully engraved image of a powerful bison. With its massive size, prominent head and shaggy fur, the giant of the Great Plains captivated settlers and became a legendary fixture in the American imagination. Issued at the dawn of the last century. Flanking the bison are vignettes of explorers Lewis and Clark, whose mapping of the Louisiana Purchase territory paved the way for western expansion. The reverse features Columbia, a poetic female personification of the U.S. This rarely seen “legal tender note” is full of intricate flourishes and distinguished by a rich red seal and serial number.

***Auction Highlight*** J. Gault’s 1862 Encased Postage, EP8, TAKE AYERS PILLS & 3c Rose stamp exel Lot #772 (Sale Order 508 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** J. Gault’s 1862 Encased Postage, EP8, TAKE AYERS PILLS & 3c Rose stamp exel cond Graded vf35 By SEGS. Up for Auction is One of The Civil War’s Foremost Rarities, The “Encased Postage” coin. While not Technically a Coin, a Note or a Stamp, John Gault’s Encased Postage was king of currency For a Brief Year in 1862. When The Civil war Broke out in 1861, all of the “Hard Currency” quickly Dissapeared. But people still needed to purchase a 3¢ loaf of bread, a 1¢ newspaper, a 5¢ quart of milk and countless other goods that required coins. And vendors had to make change when an item’s price was less than a nickel, a dime or a quarter. In some cities, businesses gave customers I.O.Us, private companies created “Civil War tokens” and paper money was cut into several pieces to represent a fraction of a dollar. Clever remedies for sure, but none that were widely used or accepted. All of this radically changed on July 17, 1862, when Congress decided to address the coinage shortage and passed a law that allowed postage stamps to satisfy debts of less than $5. People began to carry stamps in their purses and pockets and used them repeatedly for daily purchases. Vendors gladly accepted the stamps as payment. But all of this hand-to-hand usage quickly resulted in damaged stamps with denominations sometimes unrecognizable. The local post offices would not exchange damaged stamps for new ones, so a remedy was needed. John Gault, a New York entrepreneur, decided he had the best solution. On August 12, 1862, Gault obtained a patent for a “postage stamp case”, or as he named the item in a newspaper advertisement, the “New Metallic Currency. Gault didn’t sell the encased stamps to the public. Instead, he sold them to stores and businesses that needed “coinage” to make change for customers’ purchases. Gault’s profit came from the 20% markup over the face value of the stamp. To increase his potential profit, Gault’s second idea was to inscribe advertising on the back of the encased stamp. He would charge companies who purchased the metallic currency an additional 2¢ for each item. Encased stamps were widely accepted in the general commerce realm until later in 1862 when the government issued “fractional currency”. This legitimate, government-sanctioned currency quickly eliminated the coin shortage. Having no other value than the stamp, people tore apart the encasements of their metallic currency to remove the stamp to use as postage. Thus the scarcity of the 1862 encased stamps today. The Example being offered today is EP8, Large Ayer’s, TAKE AYER’S PILLS 3c Rose Colored Washington Stamp The case has a nice Patina, with original luster still remaining, WOW!, The Mica & Stamp are fully intactonly a slight crazing. The Stamp is Clear and the Case pleasing.J. Gault’s 1862 Encased Postage, EP8, TAKE AYERS PILLS & 3c Rose stamp exel cond

Proof NGC 1972-s Silver Signed By Charlie Duke Eisenhower Dollar $1 Graded pr68 cam By NGC Lot #810 (Sale Order 533 of 584) NGC 1972-s Silver Signed By Charlie Duke Eisenhower Dollar $1 Graded pr68 cam By NGC. in 1969, the world watched in awe as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first men ever to set foot on the surface of the moon. Tears came to the eyes of many as the rock that is over 200,000 miles away seemed just a little bit closer. So, too, by extension, did the rest of the universe. Now, Mints around the world are celebrating the 50th anniversary of that first lunar visit, and Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) is contributing to the festivities through their partnership with astronaut Charlie Duke. The grading company created a unique label that features an image of him standing on the surface of the moon. Duke signs these labels by hand, providing collectors with a unique and intimate connection to one of the twelve men to have walked on the moon. NGC is using these labels for coins that have been issued to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. Given Duke’s participation in that mission, the connection is even more fitting.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Horseshoe 1907 Barber & 1920 Lot #811 (Sale Order 534 of 584) ***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Horseshoe 1907 Barber & 1920 Walker Ends. Good Luck.

1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc Lot #818 (Sale Order 536 of 584) 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc.
