Extensive Carving of "Texas 1861" inside a Texas star, Native American Indian Wearing a war bonnet and holding a spear, a Texas longhorn steer and the owner/carvers name "James Porter" above Texas Star. Antique Colt Single-Action Army .45 Caliber Single-action Revolver Lot #104 (Sale Order 104 of 474) 5 1/2" barrel 6-shot. Non-matching artillery, and is U.S. marked. This is typical of the artilleries that were from 7.5" to 5.5" barrels. Has 1-piece walnut grips. Gun has been reblued, and barrel address is all but gone. The main serial is 34406, grip frame has two different serials. The trigger guard is 47426, and the backstrap on the bottom is 727. Patent dates are legible, as is the U.S. marked. The main frame is L.D. proofed. The barrel is R.A.C. proofed for Renaldo A. Carr, who was the inspector of the last part of the 1890's to the end of the early part of the 1900's. Does seem to function, mostly just a representative piece.

The first four inches of barrel that meet the receiver are vintage to the gun, but a much more modern barrel has been seeded into the rear of the original barrel. It has been re-stocked, and has a reproduction marbles tang sight. There is some light corrosion on the trigger guard, the butt plate is in the white and shows some minor pitting from the past. It's pretty, but just a shooter.

Black plastic grips are in good condition with no chips or cracks. Machete comes with original scabbard.
