10" American Autoperipatetikos walking doll, nicely sculpted dark blond hair in working condition.

She has stuffed leather arms with individual fingers and is wearing a lovely blue gingham silk dress. When wound she walks forward nicely. 36" Antique Czechoslovakian toy theater with back drops and 40 puppets.

The total dimensions of the theater when set up are 36"L x 22"D x 28"T. The theater folds down and most of the parts fit inside of the wooden box. There are two reversible back drop scenes and four side panels for each back scene. Giving a total of four scenes that can be created. There are 40 puppets that appear to be made of molded plaster/gesso, that have all been beautifully hand-painted with great detail. Two of the scenes are titled in Czech and loosely translate to "Castle in Rozemberku", Mill House. The two untitled scenes are "The Woods" and "The Village". The bear is a lovely silver/blond color and is in fair to good condition. He is jointed at the head, arms and legs. He is excelsior-stuffed and has a pointy snout with clipped muzzle. He has a brown stitched nose and mouth (right lip stitching is missing) and large brown glass eyes with black pupils. He sports the characteristic webbed paw stitching and still has the lower claw stitching. The paw pads are in good condition with only a small hole in the left upper pad. Most of his mohair is pretty lush and full all over with a few small bald spots, and on top of the head, where it is very well worn. This fun filled vignette contains forty-seven 5"-7" cloth dolls by Bernard Ravca. It contains a band with six musicians, a conductor, a vocalist and two back-up singers. There are four waiters serving drinks and numerous patrons both seated and dancing. The dolls are in good condition with some mild wear on costumes and shoes. They are made on wire armatures with cloth covering and hand painted faces. The gentlemen are all wearing formal wear and the ladies are dressed in elegant gowns. Most of the standing and dancing folks are mounted on typical black wooden Ravca bases, and many of the dolls have their original Ravca string tags. 12" Pair of vintage French wind-up automaton figures from Au Nain Bleu.

The first is a musical jewelry box automaton depicting "Young Man Playing Piano". He has French bisque head and hands. When wound he rocks his head back and forth and his hands move up and down the piano keys all while music plays. He is mounted atop a wooden jewelry box, when the drawer is opened he begins to play. He is dressed in a Mozart style costume. It is in working condition, but may need oiling. There is a metal tag mounted on the bottom that reads "AU NAIN BLEU, JOUETS ET JEUX, 408 RUE ST HONORE, PARIS". There is also a label that names the two songs played, "SERENADE DE SCHUBERT" and "MENUET DE MOZART". The piece is in good condition with dusting and some of the silk fabrics are starting to wear. The second figure is a "Young Dandy On Bike". He has a bisque head and metal hands. He sits atop a sturdy wrought iron bicycle with fancy gold decorations. When the back wheel is wound, he slowly rides the bike and turns his head back and forth. The piece is in good condition with only slight dusting and tiny nicks on the paint. 36" Antique European hand made blacksmith wrought iron doll bed with canopy cover.

The total measurements of the doll bed are 36"T x 24"L x 12"D. It has been handmade by a blacksmith or craftsman. It has tab cuts that allow for the soft curves of the sides and joinery. The wrought iron body and legs appear to be hand hammered and flattened and the entire piece is put together with hammered-tight rivets. It has been faux-wood painted and edged with black paint. The canopy cover has a crown-type fancy wrought iron top with a wood insert. The canopy curtain is a new piece, but matches the piece nicely and is in good clean condition. He is painted green and covered with fringed leather, fur pieces, feathers and cowrie shells. He has an aged and dusty appearance. The next piece is about 15" tall and is decorated with feathers and red fringe on the head. He carries a green paddle in his right hand and it appears that something may be missing from the left hand. It is signed "AMI 70" on the bottom. The largest girl is about 22" tall and has a nicely painted face with side- glancing eyes. She is in fairly clean condition with light shelf-dusting, but does have felt holes at the neck socket. Her costume is in good condition with several tiny holes. She has a cloth tag sewn into the dress that reads "CREATION ALMA, MADE IN ITALY". The second girl is dressed in a sheer muslin dress with pink and black felt appliques. She has age yellowing and staining all over with a few small holes. She is not marked but is string-jointed like typical Alma dolls. The third girl is fairly clean but has a hole in her forehead and foot. Her costume is age yellowed and dusted. She is stamped on the bottom of her foot "ALMA, MADE IN ITALY" and she also has a cloth tag on her dress that reads "CREAZIONE ORIGINALS ALMA, MADE IN ITALY". The group contains: an 8 1/2" Tall doll in a soldier's costume. All of the porcelain shoulderhead is hard to see without removing his sewn-on jacket, but careful examination shows his porcelain to be flaw free. He is mounted on a clean cloth body that is sturdy, and he has bisque hands and brown china boots. The upper portion of the boots has leather style spats attached, so it is hard to see the condition of the upper legs; next is a 9 3/4" china doll with a gold necklace with pink and green gemstone inset. The porcelain head, hands and legs/feet are all in excellent condition. She is mounted on a clean, newer cloth body that is strong and sturdy; the next doll is a German porcelain Biedermeier-style with domed head. Her head is in excellent condition and she has white bisque hands with a small chip on the right thumb; a 13 1/2" Tall flat-top lady with a high brow. The shoulderhead is in good condition, but it does have a hairline on the front from the right hole of the breastplate going about 1 1/4". There is also wear on some of the back hair curls. She is wearing a nice antique muslin dress and she has good porcelain legs with burnt orange boots; a 14 1/2" lady with high brow and deeply sculpted eyes. Her porcelain head, arms and legs are in excellent condition (green boot paint worn). She also has several rubs on the high spots of her hair. The deeply sculpted eyes give the lady a finessed look. He is clean with mild dusting. When wound he skooches forward, moves his front paws up and down, and rears back on his back paws; a 3 1/2" tall Japanese wind-up duck. He is nice with a bit of dusting all over. When wound he moves forward, quacks, moves bill up and down and flaps his little wings. The movement needs cleaning and oiling as the duck only wants to work sporadically. He has nice glass googly eyes; a Japanese key-wind cat on back spinning a small dwarf. When wound his tail spins, causing him to reel around in circles, the dwarf spins around causing the cat legs to flutter.It still has it's original "MADE IN JAPAN" paper tag on the back; a 5" Long felt bulldog hand toy. 6"-18" Group of exotic souvenir dolls, a Balinese Dewi Sri, carved African lady and Kachina dolls.

Tallest is the Balinese Dewi Sri statue at 17 1/2" tall. She has carved wood hands, feet and face. She has an elaborate costume made of coins that are woven together. She is mounted on a wooden base with Art Deco style carving. She appears to be in good condition, but could use a good dusting. The carved wood African lady stands at 13 3/4" tall. She is crudely carved out of wood and dressed with leather sandals, skirt and headdress. The costume is then accentuated with colorful glass beads. She is in dusty condition. The next is a 13 1/2" tall wooden Kachina doll called Brown Wolf and is signed by the artist, Lorena Nelson. It appears to be in good condition with light dusting. The next is a 6" tall Kachina with painted black face and colorful costume. It may have a chunk of it's right wooden hand missing and it appears that it had taller feathers in it's head and something in it's hand at one time. It has a faint mark on the bottom "KRT 4.00". Also included is a 3" tall glass beaded doll in the Zuni style. It appears to be made of small bird bones and covered in leather with the glass beading. The group contains 3 dolls by English artist, Brenda Price and they stand at 17-18" tall. Two have their identifying tags as Sir Walter Raleigh and William Shakespeare. The third man in orange resembles an 18th Century fop or one of the Three Musketeers, but is untagged. The dolls are made of a sculpted material and have great hand pressed details. They are painted and outfitted in very fine costumes made of excellent materials. All three are in very good condition with the slightest of dusting and small glue spots that are typical of this artist's work. The next two dolls are by Gebruder Beerli. The first is Florence Nightingale which is 11 3/4" tall the the second is King Henry VIII standing at 13" tall. They have beautifully molded faces of very fine bisque and are painted with wonderful detail. The costumes are nicely made and in very clean condition with only slight dusting. Each one has it's original paper string tag. The last doll is a 12" tall bisque portrait doll of George Washington. The sculpting and painting of the face is very good and striking.
