Lot 313- 1952 Borgward Midget “Eegore the Eyesore”

Lot #313 (Sale Order 45 of 112)

1952 Borgward Midget “Eegore the Eyesore”. Built and raced by Wally and Kenny Parks of NHRA and Bell Helmet fame. Built in the ‘60s by Kurtis Kraft and never modernized. Desirable 1.5-litre Borgward engine. Originally raced in Hawaii. 1.5-litre Borgward four-cylinder engine, 75 HP, four-speed gearbox, drum brakes, independent four-wheel coil spring suspension, 102” wheelbase. In 1956, Borgwards’s racing division in Bremen, Germany, set about developing a 1.5-litre four-valve engine, based on the Isabella, with fuel injection and dual ignition. The resulting 150 HP engine powered the Borgward RS to numerous class victories. In 1959, this model was ideal for the newly established 1.5-litre Formula Two. Stirling Moss was driving a Cooper-Borgward and recorded four wins in the first four races. The famous race car driver is quoted as saying that Formula Two meant little to him at the time – until he sat in the Cooper with the Borgward engine. Wally Parks and his brother saw that success and found themselves a standard Borgward 75hp engine and a suitable Kurtis Kraft chassis. They broke it down to the essential components only, moved the engine block back for optimum handling performance, and placed the driver’s compartment back near the rear axle. Add in big and little race wheels and tires, and you’ve got a classic stance and the ability to go very fast on the dirt. There are even photos of the Parks brothers with Eegore at a number of famous California oval tracks. The hand-formed boat tail body has a classic look, with a single, central seat, small windscreen, and a racing three-spoke steering wheel just begging to be whipped around the track. It’s all business inside, with the four-speed floor shifter and metal dash containing only the essentials – and a few mementos of hot-rod events from the past. It’s an authentic presentation with enough wear and tear to show anyone that this car is the real deal, and actually raced by Kenny Parks. Custom painted in pink, with hand-lettered graphics and louvered engine panels, Eegore has a single straight pipe out the right side and a hand-formed streamlined tail section, along with a custom front grille with devilish horns for fun. Headlights….taillights….turn signals – bah… who needs ‘em. Stay out of my way and follow the cloud of dust! #32 isn’t waiting for anyone, and we’re sure the next owner is in for just as much fun as the Parks brothers behind the wheel of this period classic.

Lot 317- 1967 Donzi 16ft Ski Sporter

Lot #317 (Sale Order 49 of 112)

Attention speed enthusiasts and collectors! If you already own a mid to late 60's top 10 muscle car like a 1963 to 1967 shelby cobra roadster or a 1963 to 1967 corvette stingray, imagine how heart stopping and cool it would be if you could add this 1967 Donzi Ski Sporter "sweet 16" to your collection. Here is a rare opportunity to own the best of the best! Over $40,000 in receipts spent on the professional restoration of this excellent piece of mid to late 60's high tech nostalgic design, performance and attitude. This boat was built for high speed performance and durability. the gross weight is only 1500 pounds and speeds of 70 + miles per hour were easily achieved from the design of the deep-vee hull with 24 degrees of transom deadrise and a pair of lifting strakes on each side of centerline. the boats underwater shape contributes to its stability as does the ample beam of 7 feet and the wide transom. These boats were sold with the company promise of "the softest riding, driest high speed sport boat ever built." 100% correct original Holman & Moody 289 v8 engine. v-drive final drive and propeller. Restored custom Donzi trailer is included. The Donzi Ski Sporter was born on Miami's "Thunderboat Row" in 1964. This was the time that the pioneers of wild and wooly performance were turning out revolutionary fiberglass boats. The 16-footer with the racy lines and bold stripe was designed by Jim Wynne and it was raced by no less a personage than Mr. Don Aronow. (who in the high performance boating industry is the equivalent to Mr. Carrol Shelby).

Lot #322 (Sale Order 54 of 112)

13,000 ORIGINAL MILES! EXCELLENT CONDITION! LARGELY ORIGINAL! This bike was purchased in May of 2005 from Mr. Thomas Arnone, who is a specialist in restoring vintage Hondas in Kalispell, Montana, with an emphasis on the CB500-4. As he explained to me at the time... At 5'7" and 155 pounds, and being 73 years young... "it's just too big for me" This bike has been stored indoors almost every day of its 35 years. Mr. Arnone replaced the original tank with a new one and new aftermarket side covers. The original tank and side covers were Orange Metallic. The new parts were painted Candy Ruby Red (a 1971 CB750 factory color). The instruments still retain the original sun-cracked faces, which further verify the original mileage. The original exhaust pipes remain, new baffles have been installed. The sound is unmatched and unmistakable. The saddle is original with no rips or cracks. The bike still retains its original tool kit and owners manual! The Honda CB750 revolutionized the motorcycle industry and 35 years later it is still an icon!

Lot 325- 1970 Chevrolet CST/10 Short Bed Pickup

Lot #325 (Sale Order 57 of 112)

The one word that comes to mind when I look at this truck is "WOW!" This extremely rare, almost impossible-to-duplicate CST (which stand for Custom Sport Truck) has undergone a 'no expense spared' frame off restoration. This truck was already rare when it rolled out of the factory with black paint, bucket seats and center console, air conditioning, power disc brakes, and power steering, but combine it with a fresh 350ci V8, fresh turbo 350 automatic transmission, custom exhaust, lowered suspension, and wider tires on 15" rallye wheels, and you have one of the most unique and tastefully restored "square body" Chevrolet pickups out there. You will be extremely hard-pressed to find another one like this and you could not restore this truck to this quality for less than six figures! Previous owner just spent over $1,700 detailing and ceramic coating.

This particular Mercedes-Benz 250SE was delivered new to its first owner in California. It would remain in this ownership until a few years ago when it was traded by the owner for a New Maybach. It was acquired recently by the consigner and has since been put through a full service and inspection by a Mercedes-Benz mechanic. The car appears to be in very solid order and looks to be very much undisturbed. The repaint was done a number of years ago is very presentable. The brightwork appears to be original and shows extremely well. The leather upholstery is believed to be original and look spectacular. Canvas top looks like new. Runs and drives like it should. Mercedes-Benz convertibles of this era are wonderful cars. They are characterized by their exemplary build quality. Their independent suspensions give them wonderful road manners, and fuel injection gives them great drivability. This hand-built Mercedes is surely a great car for a collection or as a wonderful driver for the enthusiast.

Lot #336 (Sale Order 68 of 112)

One of reportedly 409 cars built with the 2.3-liter V-6. While these cars suffer from rust issues this car is extremely original and largely rust free. The headliner will need replacing as it is bad along with the visors. The carpets are tired and original the seats in the car are actually from a Jaguar XJ6 and very nice but not original, the original seats will be included in the sale but will need new foam and re upholstery. The car was originally Blue and has been repainted a very pleasant seafoam green metallic, looks great but not correct. The previous owner changed out the center section of the grille and put a Jaguar cat in the center which of course is not correct. The wheels were originally steel bolt on wheels with hub caps but the previous owner had a set of Jaguar hubs and wire wheels installed on the car, again while they look great, they are not correct. The car runs and drives well, but has had no real work done to it for some years, not a scratchy synchronizer in the gearbox which shifts beautifully.

Original black plate Southern California survivor. Fabulous time-capsule example from Long Beach. Still has the original dealer’s license plate frames. Low original miles. 3.8-liter motor runs well. Wonderful platform to do a partial or full restoration to. The patina is amazing and the car is rock-solid throughout. Lovely interior, “great bones” as they would say. Finding one of these in this condition is harder than dating a woman like Jennifer Aniston. It’s just not likely. The fabulous cars were the backbone of Jaguar. The XK series won LeMans multiple times. These coupes are the rarest iteration of the series. The 3.8 the most desirable motor and the 150 the most refined of the entire series. Regular maintenance was done on this car, it has lived in a garage for almost 20 years. It’s washed regularly and started whenever there is the possibility to do so. Lot 341- Simpson Design Swift Lot 341- Simpson Design Swift

Lot 341- Simpson Design Swift

Lot #341 (Sale Order 73 of 112)

The Swift project started about 4 years ago. I have been a big fan of the Michelotti designed Lotus XI that was ultimately built by Ghia Aigile of Switzerland, so much so I decided to scratch build a 1/24 scale model of the car for my model collection. In making the model I renewed my general fascination for the design, so much so I posted some pics of the model on Facebook in some of the car groups I belong to. A 3D programmer friend of mine, Dan Palatnik, who lives in Brazil, saw the model pics and sent me an email, offering to do a virtual model of the car for me, should I get serious about building one. On a lark I sent some pictures to my best overseas client, who, without hesitation, said, “Yes, I would like one - could you build it for me, please? A few emails back and forth confirmed that he was quite serious, and the project began. I made a second model and sent it to Dan, who immediately set about creating the preliminary drawings, which we then modified to give us a uniquely Simpson design. I then contracted with Dan to make a 3d station buck model. Enter another gotod friend of mine, Raffi Minassian, another profession automotive designer and also an Industrial arts professor in San Fransisco, who took Dan’s 3D renders and had them wood laser cut for us. This let us build a 1/5 scale model to make sure the buck would work. Raffi and I spent a fun day assembling the 1/5 scale model. Raffi, JR and I later assembled a full-sized water jet cut plywood buck also created from Dan’s 3D program. Never having done a full-sized body this way, it was an interesting learning curve. In the end, I decided that skinning the wooden buck in steel was the answer. Once I had that done, I contacted the guys over Sunbacker Fiberglass in Monroe WA. We’ve used them for years and they produced a set of working tooling for us to lay up a composite body and interior tub. In the meantime I scratch built a chassis in mild steel, designed to use the subframes and driveline from a second generation Mazda Miata, except shortened by 2 inches, giving us an 88“ wheel base. On completion, we took it over to Sunbacker on the trailer, fitted it to the first body Sunbacker had made - amazing, he two actually fit together - and we proceeded to bring the whole lot back to the shop for additional development. I kept looking at the windshield opening. In some way it was familiar. I called up my glass supplier and asked him if he could get me engineering drawings and specs on a 58-62 Corvette windscreen. He laughed and said, “I can more easily get you a windshield tomorrow.” So, I ordered a glass, which arrived the next day as advertised, and much to my amazement was within a quarter inch of fitting, proving that every now and then an old dog gets lucky. We decided that the windshield would be attached in a trough below the cowl, and affixed with Butyl Rubber in the same as most modern windshields. We had a custom rubber extrusion made to trim out the top edge and an alloy channel made to go over the rubber extrusion to trim it all out. On with more parts development - before long I had created a dashboard and underwood side panels in steel to be reproduced in fiberglass. The guys over in Monroe were as always ready to help, and we also made a trough for the windscreen to sit down into the cowl, giving us a way to attach it to the car. Next we needed to make doors, hood and trunk lid inner to be made along with molds for inner parts. A few weeks later all this and molds had been created. I decided to utilize as many parts from the Mazda Miata as possible so hood hinges and door hinges were modified to work with the car. Fuel tank and delivery became another challenge, so we had an alloy fuel tank made. I took the fuel sender and pump assembly from a Miata tank and modified them to work in the new aluminum tank. Not wanting to recreate some of the explosive disasters of car maker history, we moved the tank from just above the rear subframe into the trunk just behind the rear seat bulkhead. This would be fitted out with one of the Cobra style competition fuel fillers on the rear cowl just in front of the trunk lid. We stripped the wiring out of the Miata donor car and heavily modified it. Our client would want the electronic fuel injection and instrumentation as well as switch assemblies. I wanted to keep the wire wheels as a period nod to the Lotus street cars of the day even though we were not making a replica, and after purchasing numerous Dunlop wire wheel hubs, I was finally able to arrive at one we could lightly machine to work on the car, giving it that vintage British look. All assembled, the car looked great overall but there was something missing - it needed distinctive badging. Chuck Simpson develop badging for the car, which we had manufactured. The front and side emblems are very old school in that they are chromed steel with cloisonne (colored glass melted into the reliefs). The interior was trimmed out in leatherette a

Every single electrical item was inspected, all of the switches now work, the lights, everything was cleaned and made safe. History: Longtime residents, owners of the best Pizza Deli’s in the Valley, have enjoyed the car hobby for decades here in Southern Oregon. The XKE was purchased in the 80’s from a repair shop in Ashland, Oregon for an outstanding repair bill, long before Jaguars were thought of as collectable with value. According to the story, it was a random conversation on an airplane flight that led to finding the Jag. Soon after, it was brought home in boxes as a long-term project. Over the years, the previous owner worked on the car with help from local shops and suppliers. Paint was applied most likely in the late 80’s and the car were enjoyed all of these years, mostly locally with a couple of longer trips at the beginning of its stewardship. There are no records of any work done at the time and the one that would know most passed about five years ago. The car had not been driven much the past fifteen years, mostly brought out for parades and the such. The normal course of events was the car starting the event under its own power but brought back on a trailer by the end of the day for one electrical gremlin or another. Finally, it was parked and started on occasion, the last time about 2010.

Lot 353- 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst Lot 353- 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst

Lot 353- 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst

Lot #353 (Sale Order 81 of 112)

Background The 1979 Hurst/Olds was a limited production vehicle of which a total of 2499 were produced. All came with an Olds 350 V-8, auto transmission and most options. Exterior paint came in two color combo's, White & Gold and Black & Gold. The colors were generally evenly produced. Interior options had white & tan vinyl or tan velour cloth. T-tops & a Sunroof were an options. Exact numbers of produced T-top & Sunroof cars  are not exactly known. It has been estimated that "537" T-top cars were produced of the 2499 made. But that estimate is based on total Cutlass production of which 20% came with T-tops and applying that 20% production to the total production of 2499 Hurst/Olds'. So there could be more then the 537 or less then that made. What survives today is anyone's guess as these cars have not been well cared for over the decades and many have been lost to the time & elements.  This Hurst/Olds was purchased in the summer of 2009 from a local metal recycling/auto yard (Hence the Salvage/Rebuilt branding on the title by the state now after restoration was completed and the State Patrol inspected the car) . The body was generally straight, had minimal to no rust and had the original drive train still in place. Over the course of the next years I completed a frame off/rotisserie restoration of this rare car. It currently has less then 200 miles since the completion. Body As mentioned the body was generally in good condition, but there was a crack found in the upper area of the drivers front pillar where the T-top meets. That crack was welded when body & paint were done. I upgraded to the "aluminum" package to save considerable weight. The aluminum package consisted of an aluminum hood & front and rear aluminum bumper supports behind the bumpers. Frame With the body off the frame I confirmed that the frame was in solid condition and was the original frame with the VIN stamped twice on the drivers side frame rail on the outside portion. The frame was striped and rust coated then painted. Eibach springs were installed (lowering the car about an inch), with new brakes, rotors, polyurethane bushings & body mounts, Bilstein rear shocks, new front shocks, steering components etc. Engine  The number matching Olds 350 V-8 was taken to be rebuilt to generally stock specifications, but I did have roller rockers, Dbl roller timing chain, Edelbrock intake and other minor upgrades done to it. Of course all components were replaced or rebuilt IE: water pump, alternator, rebuilt Rochester carb, fuel pump, brake booster & master cylinder, A/C compressor, etc. Ceramic coated headers. Cooling New aluminum radiator, hoses, heater core etc. installed. Transmission Original TH350 rebuilt, new torque converter & shift kit installed. Rear Axle Axle gears examined and in good/great condition, new oil & seal(s) done. Interior Original tan velour seats (material not reproduced). NOS center console Hurst/Olds shifter surround used. Rallye gauge cluster had to be replaced as the one in the car was trashed. All gauges work except the speedo displays half way at freeway speed and not at all at lower speeds. Odometer works fine. I set the odometer to "zero's" to track the mileage since the restoration completion. Wiring overall is good. I did have to have a small jumper wire installed near the wiring block (under the dash) to get the tail lights working again. Clock is there, but is not functioning. Air conditioning system has not been charged and thus not functioning (new compressor and hoses tho). Recent work High grade Oil & Filter, brake fluid flush, custom dual exhaust with X pipe to replace the two into one exhaust from the factory. Paint Photo's should show the quality, but here are two blemishes. One on the corner of the passenger front side marker light and the second in the middle of the drivers door (scratch). Bumpers Front bumper is NOS. Rear bumper is a good original unit but does have minor imperfections. T-tops The car will come with two sets of T-tops. The T-tops in the photo's are slightly newer than 1979 units (probably early 80's) as they have key locks. I purchased these as they were in better condition than the tops on the car. The ones 2nd pair are usable spares. Replaced Parts Original 350 cast intake manifold, Original Rochester Carb, Exhaust manifolds ( have them and will come with car). Overall This is a great driving/cruising car. Has not been shown and really not seen in the last 12-ish years.

Lot 357- 2002 Mercedes-Benz G500 4WD “Geländewagen”

Lot #357 (Sale Order 84 of 112)

In the Austrian factory where workers in blue jumpsuits assemble the Mercedes-Benz G500, there is a sign that reads, "Geländewagen: Robust und Exklusiv." That sign describes the character and appeal of the Mercedes off-roader more accurately than anything the marketing department might have dreamed up. The defining characteristics of this vehicle, previously known as the Geländewagen, are indeed its robust nature and exclusivity. This example, featuring a 5.0L 292hp V8, 5-Speed automatic, and hi/lo range 4wd transfer case, with triple locker differentials, is finished in Tectite Gray Metallic over black leather interior, and is optioned with heated seats, sunroof, cd changer, navigation, bose premium stereo system, and upgraded black 19" G55 AMG wheels. Sold new for over $87,500 in 2002, and the body style remained the same until 2018! AMG versions of the G-Wagen regularly sold new for over $200,000! Making these G500's an incredible value for the money!

Lot 359- 2006 Pontiac Solstice Convertible

Lot #359 (Sale Order 86 of 112)

This 2006 Pontiac Solstice was purchased new by the current owner from Roe Motors Inc of Grants Pass, Oregon. The car mostly sat in a climate-controlled storage unit during the ensuing years, and the odometer currently shows just 306 miles. Finished in red over black leather, the car is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a black soft top, a Monsoon audio system with an in-dash CD changer, and polished 18? wheels. Maintenance performed since 2019 is said to have included an oil change and flushes of the brake and power-steering fluid as well as the coolant. This Solstice is offered by the selling dealer on consignment with 2005 order and sales paperwork, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Oregon title in the owner’s name. The exterior is finished in Aggressive Victory Red (74U) and features a manually operated black cloth convertible top that folds into a rear-hinged trunk compartment. The top is shown both in the raised and lowered positions. Polished 18? wheels were a factory option and are wrapped with Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires measuring 245/45 all around. Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and electronic stability control were standard equipment. The cabin is trimmed in Ebony leather and is equipped with the Premium Package, a seven-speaker Monsoon stereo system, an auxiliary input, a six-disc CD changer, and air conditioning. Factory instrumentation sits behind a three-spoke steering wheel and includes a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, a fuel gauge, and a digital odometer showing 306 miles. The 2.4-liter Ecotec inline-four was factory rated at 170 horsepower when new, and it sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip differential. The engine oil was changed in April 2019, at which time the coolant and power-steering fluid also were flushed. Corrosion is noted on the CV axles and hardware. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other issues, and it lists registration events and dealer service with one owner from new through November 2019.
