Fine Sand Mountain Decorated Half Gallon Jug, Strong attribution to William T. Belcher due to small size and thumb print, with classic wavy comb decorations. This jug has a warm earthy brownish/mustard color which shows very well. This is a very sought after size. The combing is just fantastic with great detail. The classic graceful handle and the classic thumb print points in the William Belcher potter in Sand Mountain. Condition is gem mint ten with no chips cracks or repairs. Standing 7 1/2" Tall by 7" Width at base.

Fine Sand Mountain Decorated one gallon pitcher with strong William T. Belcher attribution. This has a warm rich earthy light brown alkaline with great dark earth brown runs throughout the pitcher. The decoration is great wavy comb and concentric line decoration. Note the again classic handle and thumb print that points to William T. Belcher attribution. Very well potted and will make a great addition to any Alabama collection. Condition is fantastic with one small glaze flake on the lip of pitcher. Other than that no other issues. Fresh from a estate in NE Ga. Standing 8 3/4" Tall x 6" Wide at base.

Fine Lanier Co. 6 For a 1.00 Six Gallon Churn from the Forerman shop in Stockton Ga. This example is one if not the finest six for a dollar churn I have ever seen. This is a rich illustrious golden honey brown earthy alkaline glaze, that just catches the light and your eyes. It also has some traces of blue rutile in the rim wall seat and inside the jar. The script is very well done. It has two lug lifter handles, the condition is monumental with only minor glaze skips and also very minor glaze flakes on edges of handle, and a few minor glaze flakes around the rim. This example was found in FL and has No cracks or repairs. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh example. Hands down a must for the Lanier enthusiast. Standing 16 3/4" Tall

Circa 1880-90's Fresh from a private lifetime collection and will be sure to be a fine piece in any southern collection. Condition is excellent with a minor firing line nothing major or distracting. Jacbos was the first establishment to serve the worlds famous Coca Cola May 8, 1886. Also noted Jacobs studied under Dr. Crawford Long of Jefferson Ga. who was the discover of Anastasia. This is a first for Cagle Auction Co. to offer a historic piece of stoneware connected to Jacobs and Coca Cola. This jug is fantastic and has typical wear and light small chips, no repairs or cracks. Monumental Stamped Kline Decorated 2gal Churn With out a doubt this is one of the most important stamped Kline pieces of pottery know. Musuem quality with some stunning cobalt decorations. There have been some talk about what is the decoration and a number of theories have came up but no known definite answer, which is the mystery we will never know. This is the hands down the best known example of cobalt decorated Atlanta stoneware that has ever surfaced in our opinion. This is sure to make a fine sitting in any museum or any southern pottery collection. Condition is fantastic with a very minor firing line at base less than a half inch, drying chip in rim that was done before glazing and firing. Again a fresh southern example with monumental decorations. Standing 13 1/4"

Scarce J. B. Stewart Corn Whiskey Jug, Atlanta Ga. Two gallon Atlanta Ga. Circa 1885-1888 at the Howell Mill pottery site. This is the third known example and the only two gallon known at this time. Highly important jug from Atlanta area pottery. Has a 2 stamped on the back shoulder. Also has a classic bell shape which has know to potted by Bird. The location is on West Peters St. in Atlanta. Conditon is outstanding with a few minor glaze flakes, no cracks. A scarce find with cobalt decoration and stamp. Also note the the kiln drips on the jug as well and the cobalt around the mouth of jug. A must for any collector of stencil jugs and southern Whiskey jugs. Standing 14" Tall

Important Signed JC Hicks Jugtown Georgia six gallon decorated churn. This is without a doubt one of the most important decorated churns to ever come out of Jugtown area. This has a fantastic stamp in the top rim of churn, overall a nice albany slip glaze with a tree of life decoration and the face of Mr. Hicks with great facial detail. Condition is fantastic with only chip in rim above the Hicks stamp, shows glaze skipping nothing major. The churn was most likely a presentation piece. Also note it has the original lid that is stuck in the churn. No cracks or repairs. Again another fine fresh and scarce example, with no other examples known at this time. Fine two gallon example made by JP Reid born 1861-1930. This is a great example with a outstanding glaze. This example was found in the Reid family estate in Marietta Georgia. This is a family piece of the Reid family and which makes more a treasure to own a family example. This is a unsigned example and we strongly believe this piece was potted in Paulding Co. which Tyler Newsome has done extensive research in Paulding Co. pottery, and has shed a lot of light on Paulding and the potters of the region-era. The jug is in outstanding original condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It has a few glaze voids, very minor. Great family example and will stand out in any collection.

He was a local business man with ties in the saloon and liquor distribution from the years of 1891-1896. Jug was mad at the Howell Mill area pottery site. This jug has a salt glazed body and slip glazed top. The stamp is very well legible. Condition is very good, with two rim chips and minor chips around the shoulder of the jug, nothing major. The decoration is with two rows of heavy combing and the top line with comb marks all the way around. This bowl is unsigned but we know where a signed pitcher with this same decoration. This is a fine addition to any collection and noteworthy to any museum. Condition is outstanding with only two rim flakes, nothing major or distracting. No cracks or repairs. Early Lanier Meaders Rock Tooth Face Jug from the 1970s. This is one of the finest Laniers Meaders Rock Tooth Face jug to cross the block at Cagle Auction and coveted by collectors and face jug enthusiast. The face jug has fine facial features starting with the pointed left ear and the right ear is normal looking. Early details of the eyebrows and cobalt eyes. Great form around the nose and mouth with five original rock teeth. This is a early dark glaze with a killer look. Wire cut bottom signed Lanier Meaders. This is a fresh example from a private Georgia collection for over 20 years. This face jug is in wonderful condition. Note the clip has a chip that was done when Lanier was unloading the kiln and reglued the chip back in and was never repaired, very hard to tell unless up close. Other than that it is all original no cracks, chips or repairs. Fine addition to any stoneware/face jug collection. Standing 8 1/2" Tall

Important scarce Glazed- Clint Alderman Face Jug 2014 one gallon in size. This has the first glazed face jug in the Issac Craven iron-sand glaze recipe. This is the first example glazed in this Crave glaze and it sure is wonderful. Rich earthy light and dark tones really pop this face jug and makes a statement with this outstanding glaze. Dated 2014, their were two kilns made with this glaze and that has been it. Note the china plate teeth with glazed eyes, nice wavy line decoration. Has overall a early crude from when his craft was just in the beginning stages. Green earthy hughes with cobalt marker eyes. If your a face jug collector then this one is sure to be on your radar. Condition is mint has a drying line in lip of jug which is only in the inside and does not go through mouth, not a crack, which was typical on potters early works. No chips, cracks or repairs. Note this is a early example due to not having any kiln drips on the pitcher which points it into the early production period of Addington shop. Also note the stamp is a early stamp and very scarce. Stamp is in fancy script, not the typical block stamp you see on later examples. Fresh example out of a North Georgia collection for over 25 years. He started his liquor business in 1899-1900 and was in business for only one year. Not much is known about Julius Ball and he was given a license November 29, 1899. Its noted that in August 16, 1900 he was permitted to sell liquor in Leon Co. FL after this not much is known and this jug is extremely scarce and is going to be a great addition to any museum and FL liquor jug collection. This is one id have to say is one of the best signed LJ Lucius Jordan ( 1816-1880 ) or Washington Co. Georgia pieces of pottery we have offered before at Cagle Auction. This is truly a historic example by Lucius Jordan bowl that is circa 1845-1850's. All one can say is find another example and this one is wright as Washington County rain. The bowl is a fine classic Jordan glaze recipe with medium brown alkaline glaze with a large LJ stamp on the front. Has one incised line around the bowl that is top lop sided which gives great eye appeal. Overall a wonderful example of southern stoneware bowl. This is out of a fresh north Georgia collection. This example has three chips on the underside of the bowl nothing major, normal wear from use and age. No cracks or repairs. Fine example standing 4 1/2" Tall x 12" Wide at Rim

Early rare Washington Co. Lucius Jordan ( 1816-1880 ) Sorghum Jug that is just fantastic. Fine early 1850s Jordan ovid jug that goes with the timeline of 1850's and has great double handles. The handles are a classic Jordan feature that is second to none with his terminals both upper and lower. This jug is four gallon piece with a outstanding classic earthy oatmeal colored alkaline glaze that is found in his wares then a nice shading of paint rock along the lower base along with some iron burst in the body which give great character as well as eye appeal. The double handle sorghum jugs are very sought after and scarce to find in this monumental condition. This is the first example we've offered before. Fresh from a private Georgia collection. Condition is stellar with no cracks or repairs. Has one small glaze nick on the lip of jug. Other than that their is no issues. This is the only known double handle jug that both of the handles are signed and the second know double stamped HA jug, the other is a quart HA double stamped jug. This has a beautiful earthy brown alkaline glaze with nice runs all over the jug. The jug is fresh from a lifetime collection. Great form and the double handles just catch the eye and note the double handles are highly sought after form. These are not showing up and being put up into collections and museum. Great bold medium runs that show nice crawling on the top of the shoulder. A fine example of the Longs fantastic glazing tradition. This is from a lifetime collection and is a fresh to the market example. Condition- has a small glaze flake on the lip.
