1960s Rokon Mk III Trail Breaker Lot #2254 (Sale Order 52 of 60) 1960s Rokon Mk III Trail Breaker - Offered Without Reserve - History of the Rokon Trail Breaker dates back to the late 1950s when Charles Fehn of San Bernardino, California developed a two-wheel drive motorcycle designed for untamed terrain, swampy area, snow, mountainous trails and similar places where no motorbike dared to go. Starting in production in 1958 with financial backing by J. B. Nethercutt, famed classic car collection and co-founder of Merle Norman Cosmetics, production would be taken over in the early 1960s by Orla Larsen in Vermont. This example appears to be from the mid-1960s and is unrestored. For ballast it wasn’t unusual for owners to fill the tires with water, or for extended backwoods trips, extra fuel. This bike appears to have only air in them. Single-cylinder engine, possibly a West Bend of approximately 135cc. Bike has not been tested.
