Just to Reiterate from our terms and conditions: I do my best to estimate the grade/condition of the coins, but please note, unless specifically mentioned in the description, I do not guarantee grade or condition. I DO ALWAYS GUARANTEE 100% AUTHENTICITY, on an immediate buyback including any premium paid. But please understand, if you win a coin and receive it and send it out to one of the grading companies and it comes back graded less than I estimated or "genuine but Ungradeable", we will not buy back that coin. No refunds will be issued. Please understand this and look at the large pictures and make your own decision on the grade/condition. I do my best to give you my best estimate and your repeat attendance at my auctions is what I strive for, so I always attempt to give my best description/estimate of the coins being auctioned.

1917 $1 Large Size Legal Tender, Signatures of Burke & Teehee, FR36 Grades f, fine

Lot #8 (Sale Order 4 of 754)

1917 $1 Large Size Legal Tender, Signatures of Burke & Teehee, FR36 Grades f, fine. FR-36 From Series 1917, this popular $1 Legal Tender Note is the final issue in a popular, long-running series! Nicknamed the “Sawhorse” for its intricate back design, which features a large X, this exquisite motif was first printed in the 1870s. Issued for more than half a century, it ended with these Series 1917 notes, which were issued during the tenure of U.S. Treasury officials Hoouston Teehee and John Burke – whose signatures appear on the note’s face. Available now because of a special purchase, these lightly circulated pieces are still crisp and bright with bold color. The face features a portrait of George Washington along with a detailed vignette titled Columbus Discovery of Land. Last issued over 90 years ago. These notes are highly sought after, and demand outpaces availability

2015 Proof American Silver Eagle 1 oz coin

Lot #62 (Sale Order 42 of 754)

2015 Proof American Silver Eagle 1 oz coin. The American Silver Eagle is considered by many to be the most beautiful coin in production today. It takes its design directly from one of the most popular and iconic coins in U.S. history, Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty half-dollar of 1916-1947. Lady Liberty is depicted striding confidently toward a rising sun, draped in the security of the American flag, and carrying laurel and oak branches that symbolize American civic and military power. The reverse of the coin features a new design created expressly for the American Silver Eagle by John Mercanti, the chief engraver at the U.S. Mint. It depicts a proud heraldic eagle placed directly beneath thirteen stars representing the original thirteen colonies.

1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii WWII Emergency Currency Grades vf+. 1935a $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades. It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor. Everybody in Hawaii was sitting on pins and needles. Were the Japanese preparing a massive invasion of the islands? If they did invade, they could use the millions of dollars in currency on the islands to buy war material. To thwart this, these $1 Federal Reserve Notes were sent to the islands. Each has a large HAWAII printed on the reverse. If the Japanese did invade, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "Hawaii" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.

1898 Medal Made from The Propeller of Admiral Dewey’s Flagship, USS Olympia Grades Choice Unc. Bronze struck medal with obverse showing a navy cruiser with legend: "'YOU MAY FIRE WHEN YOU ARE READY, GRIDLEY'/U.S.S. OLYMPIA". Reverse depicts 4-petaled propeller and is inscribed: "MADE FROM PROPELLER OF/ ADMIRAL DEWEY'S FLAGSHIP/ WHICH SERVED IN THE/ BATTLE OF MANILA BAY/ MAY 1, 1898".Example held in both the New York Historical Society Museum, and the Mariners’ Museum in Newport News Virginia. 1898 Medal Made from The Propeller of Admiral Dewey’s Flagship, USS OlympiaJust after midnight on May 1, 1898, the USS Olympia led the United States’s Asiatic Squadron quietly through the calm, glassy waters of the Boca Grande Channel, between the island of Corregidor and the coast of Luzon in the Philippines. The United States was at war with Spain, and the American squadron was preparing to attack a Spanish fleet in Manila Bay.As Sunday morning dawned hours later, the Olympia’s commander, Captain Charles Gridley, waited for the order to fire his ship’s guns. The order would come from the squadron’s commander, Commodore George Dewey, who watched from atop the Olympia’s flying bridge as shore batteries fired harmlessly at the advancing column of American ships. At 5:40 A.M. Dewey finally hailed Gridley with the now-famous words, “You may fire when you are ready, Gridley.”

***Auction Highlight*** 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar O-121 Y Over Star R-4 50c Graded ms62+ details

Lot #91 (Sale Order 64 of 754)

***Auction Highlight*** 1795 O-121 Y Over Star R-4 Flowing Hair Half Dollar 50c Graded ms62+ details By SEGS. Tompkins Die State 2/1. A scarce and always interesting 1795 variety, with the Y in LIBERTY punched over an extra star -- one of the classic engraver errors of the Flowing Hair type. This Uncirculated ms62 Details example is among the finest known in the variety, and one of less than 8 known in uncirculated condition. Struck from a fairly early die stage, the obverse shows heavy die clashing from the eagle's wing at Liberty's chin and neck. Three points of an errant star are visible beneath Y.Significant mint luster remains beneath attractive, rainbow toning on both the obverse and reverse. The strike is sharp on the eagle, where virtually all of the eagle's feathers are defined including much of the breast and leg plumage. Razor-sharp hair detail. A few light hairlines are the cause of the details designation. A high powered loupe is required to see them, so zero detraction from the wonderful eye appeal. A few light adjustment marks at the borders and across Liberty's hair require a lens for viewing. It is widely thought that about 3,500 examples still exist regardless of variety, but perhaps only about 35 of the survivors are Mint State. The acquisition of any Mint State Flowing Hair half dollar can be considered a significant numismatic achievement. Early half dollar aficionados will most certainly be competing vigorously for this superb prize. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

Lot #92 (Sale Order 65 of 754)

1863 US Fractional Currency 5c Third Issue fr-1239 Spencer M. Clark GRaded cu64 EPQ By PMG. Spencer M. Clark was the first Superintendent of the National Currency Bureau, today known as the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, from 1862 to 1868. Fractional or postage currency has a rich history. At the beginning of the Civil War people starting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Three cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents, and fifty cents notes were all issued. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number.

From the feedback we have been receiving, people are happy with these rolls, nearly half the roll seems to be teens, all the rolls have a few Indians, most of the rolls have some steel cents, and a lot of the wheaties are mintmarks. These shotgun rolls are all from a new consignee. They are all frrom one Estate. This particular Roll shows a 1909-s on one end and a VDB reverse on the other end.

Struck from a leftover reverse die from 1878 that shows the flattened breast feathers on the eagle, and an obverse leftover from 1879 with the 79 clearly showing. The Reverse of 1878 coins are usually found bagmarked, and a high-grade example such as this one is worthy of consideration. The surfaces are brilliant and show thick mint frost one would expect from a Carson City product. The luster is also unbroken by the abrasions usually found on this issue, atypical of a CC dollar. ***Auction Highlight*** 1925-s California Near Top POP! Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms68 By SEGS. The 1925 California Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar is one of the collector favorites amongst early commemorative coins. The issue was authorized to mark the 75th anniversary of California’s statehood and featured imagery recalling the famous gold rush. The obverse the coin features a kneeling figure of a “forty-niner” as he pans for gold. The reverse features an image of a grizzly bear, which comes from the state emblem of California. Both the obverse and reverse of the California Half Dollar were designed by sculptor Joseph Mora.Authorization was provided to strike up to 300,000 coins. Production took place at the San Francisco Mint, where 150,000 coins were produced. Distribution was handled by the San Francisco Citizens’ Committee with an issuance price of $1 per coin, which had become standard for commemorative half dollar issues. Coins which remained unsold were returned to the mint for melting, resulting in a net distribution of 86,594.The High Points of the Coin are the Bear's Shoulder and Leg and the Miner's Back, Shoulder and Shirtsleeve. Lot #102 (Sale Order 73 of 754)

***Auction Highlight*** 1916-d Mercury Dime 10c Graded Select Unc By USCG. HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH - Up for auction is a coin that usually comes between ag and vg. Up for auction is the legendary 1916-d Mercury Dime, but this time its in mint state ms62. At first glance this piece suggests a finer grade in terms of its overall appeal. The silvery surfaces are frosty, with cartwheel luster and a tinge of gold on each side. Under a high-power loupe, a few tiny areas of dark toning appear--on the obverse near the top rim and on the reverse tucked into some of the device crevices--but they are not readily visible otherwise. The horizontal bands are completely visible, but they are neither fully split nor totally rounded, the criteria for a Full Bands designation. This piece is nonetheless quite appealing and will fit well into a Mint State or high-grade circulated set also has a 45° CW Rotated die A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

The coins were also to Celebrate the Exposition in Paris in 1900. Additionally, 1899 was the 100th Anniversary of Washington's death. When Examining a Lafayette Dollar, Evidence of Wear First Appears on Washington's Cheekbone and on Lafayette's Lower Curls. On the Reverse, check the Highest Points of the Design—the Boot, Thigh and Rear Leg of the Horse. Also it is noted that this coin has a Few Firsts, it is the First Commemorative Dollar Ever Struck, the First Officially Issued coin to Depict a Former President, and the First Coin to Show the Same Person (Lafayette) on Both Sides.

1936 Norfolk Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Grades Select Unc. The Norfolk Half Dollar Honors the Bicentennial of Norfolk, Virginia's elevation to the status of Borough in 1736. This Commemorative marked an event of purely local interest, and realized poor sales at the time of issue. In the irony that often accompanies such initial failure, it is now among the Scarcer and More Costly Coins in the old commemorative series. This bill authorized the coining of not more than 25,000 half dollars, to be coined at a single mint and with a single design. The entire mintage of 25,013 Norfolk halves was coined in September at the Philadelphia Mint (the odd 13 pieces were reserved for assay and later destroyed). Points to check for wear include the lower left of each sail and the highpoints of the mace.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Stardust 1943 Walker & 1962

Lot #117 (Sale Order 88 of 754)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Stardust 1943 Walker & 1962 Franklin Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

The obverse border also has 13 stars. The reverse is from regular issue dies. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This is one of nine or 10 Judd-1115 patterns known, and only 2 of which are RED. 1852 Gold Dollar TY I $1 Graded ms66+ BY SEGS

Lot #124 (Sale Order 94 of 754)

1852 TY I Gold Dollar $1 Graded ms66+ BY SEGS. An appealing, conditionally rare example of the first design type in the United States Mint's circulating gold dollar series. Lustrous and satiny surfaces exhibit gorgeous medium gold color. Both sides are smooth and free of grade-limiting blemishes. Fully struck, expertly preserved, and simply a delight to behold. While Mint State survivors are plentiful by the standards of this series, most collectors will have to settle for a coin that grades no finer than MS-64. Gems in MS-65 are scarce in an absolute sense, while anything finer is undeniably rare. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

1937-d 3 leg FS-901 Buffalo Nickel 5c Graded Select Unc By USCG. The most sought after and heralded Buffalo, the 3 legged 1937-d. The die pair that struck this famous variety was heavily worn and eroded by the time that the reverse was polished down, effacing the bison's leg. The design elements and portions of the fields on both sides exhibit heavy metal flow and die fatigue. No major abrasions despite the modest numeric grade. PCGS US Fractional Currency 50c Third Issue fr-1340 Francis Spinner TY II Graded xf45 By PCGS. Francis Elias Spinner was an American politician from New York. He served as Treasurer of the United States from 1861 to 1875, and was the first administrator in the federal government to employ women for clerical jobs.

Military Payment Certificate (MPC) Series 692 25c Cents Grades xf

Lot #152 (Sale Order 117 of 754)

Military Payment Certificate (MPC) Series 692 25c Cents Grades xf. Series 692 military payment certificates might be described as the most American of any of the MPC notes issued between 1946 and 1973. The designers at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing used distinctly American vignettes like eagles, buffalos, and Native Americans. These were first introduced into circulation on October 7th, 1970 and withdrawn on March 15th, 1973. This is the last official series of military payment certificates ever issued by the United States. Series 692 MPCs were issued for eight different denominations. Like the prior three issues, these were exclusively used in Vietnam, which means that many came home with soldiers as souvenirs.

Lot #170 (Sale Order 131 of 754)

***Auction Highlight*** 1862 J. Gault America Life Insurance, 1c Franklin Stamp - EP-24 RARE Advertiser, Nice Case Graded f15 By SEGS. Up for Auction is One of The Civil War’s Foremost Rarities, The “Encased Postage” coin. While not Technically a Coin, a Note or a Stamp, John Gault’s Encased Postage was king of currency For a Brief Year in 1862. When The Civil war Broke out in 1861, all of the “Hard Currency” quickly Disappeared. But people still needed to purchase a 3¢ loaf of bread, a 1¢ newspaper, a 5¢ quart of milk and countless other goods that required coins. And vendors had to make change when an item’s price was less than a nickel, a dime or a quarter. In some cities, businesses gave customers I.O.Us, private companies created “Civil War tokens” and paper money was cut into several pieces to represent a fraction of a dollar. Clever remedies for sure, but none that were widely used or accepted. All of this radically changed on July 17, 1862, when Congress decided to address the coinage shortage and passed a law that allowed postage stamps to satisfy debts of less than $5. People began to carry stamps in their purses and pockets and used them repeatedly for daily purchases. Vendors gladly accepted the stamps as payment. But all of this hand-to-hand usage quickly resulted in damaged stamps with denominations sometimes unrecognizable. The local post offices would not exchange damaged stamps for new ones, so a remedy was needed. John Gault, a New York entrepreneur, decided he had the best solution. On August 12, 1862, Gault obtained a patent for a “postage stamp case”, or as he named the item in a newspaper advertisement, the “New Metallic Currency. Gault didn’t sell the encased stamps to the public. Instead, he sold them to stores and businesses that needed “coinage” to make change for customers’ purchases. Gault’s profit came from the 20% markup over the face value of the stamp. To increase his potential profit, Gault’s second idea was to inscribe advertising on the back of the encased stamp. He would charge companies who purchased the metallic currency an additional 2¢ for each item. Encased stamps were widely accepted in the general commerce realm until later in 1862 when the government issued “fractional currency”. This legitimate, government-sanctioned currency quickly eliminated the coin shortage. Having no other value than the stamp, people tore apart the encasements of their metallic currency to remove the stamp to use as postage. Thus the scarcity of the 1862 encased stamps today. The Example being offered today is EP-24, North America Life Insurance Company, 63 William Street, New York, 1c Blue Colored Benjamin Franklin Stamp, The case has an outstanding Patina,, The Mica & Stamp are 75% intact with a section at 2:00 damaged. The rest of the Stamp is Clear and the Case pleasing. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Horseshoe 1936 Walker & 1953

Lot #173 (Sale Order 133 of 754)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Horseshoe 1936 Walker & 1953 Franklin Ends. Good Luck.

Military Payment Certificate (MPC) Series 481 5c Grades vf+

Lot #232 (Sale Order 175 of 754)

Military Payment Certificate (MPC) Series 481 5c Grades vf+. Military payment certificates, or MPC, were a form of currency used to pay U.S. military personnel in certain foreign countries. They were used in one area or another from a few months after the end of World War II until a few months after the end of U.S. participation in the Vietnam War – from 1946 until 1973. MPC utilized layers of line lithography to create colorful banknotes that could be produced cheaply. Fifteen series of MPCs were created. However, only 13 series were issued. The remaining two were largely destroyed, although some examples remain. Among the 13 released series a total of 94 notes are recognized.

1925 Lexington Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Grades Select Unc

Lot #278 (Sale Order 198 of 754)

1925 Lexington Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Grades Select Unc. Another celebrated issue of the early commemorative series is the 1925 Lexington Concord Sesquicentennial Half Dollar. This coin was issued to Celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the "Shot Heard 'Round The World", which symbolically began the American Revolution and Forever Changed the World. The coins were designed by Chester Beach at the request of the local communities. The obverse was based on Daniel Chester French’s statue of a Minuteman soldier and the reverse depicts the Old Belfry from which Minutemen were alerted to action. The Lexington and Concord Half Dollars carried an authorized mintage of 300,000 coins. The Philadelphia Mint produced 162,099 coins which were nearly entirely sold. The distribution took place through local banks, with a vast number sold to the local communities and even more sold throughout New England. Wider demand was a result of the true historical significance of the commemorative issue. The coins were packaged in small wooden boxes, which featured images from the obverse and reverse of the Lexington and Concord Sesquicentennial Half Dollar, and originally sold for $1 each. When looking at a Lexington Commemorative, the points to check for wear include the Minute Man’s Thighs and the Near Corner of the Belfry, particularly Toward its Top. These same Highpoints may also show Weakness of Strike.

Lot #280 (Sale Order 200 of 754)

1862 US Fractional Currency 5c First Issue fr-1230 Thomas Jefferson W/ Monigram Grades f+.

1864 $50 Confederate States of America Richmond CSA Bank Note T-66 Grades f details. After the Civil War broke out in 1861, the newly established Confederate government began to issue it's own money as legal tender to the citizens of the South. The gamble was that if the South won the war, the money would be redeemable. The 1st note from the Government of the Confederate States of America was issued in April of 1861. From then on, notes were issued on through 1864. Almost every Confederate note was painstakingly hand signed and numbered. It is not uncommon for these notes to have uneven, or rough borders since scissors or shears were used to hastily cut the sheets of notes apart.
