The group contains numerous half-doll pincushions and "Arms Away" and several wigged varieties, many with Art Deco influence. Items of note are a cute German bisque girl with side-glancing eyes atop a candy container. She has a large molded blue hair bow atop her head. She is wearing a very frail blue silk dress over a crepe paper skirt that should be easy to replicate. There is a porcelain powder box by Heubach with a half-doll lady atop a pink skirt with yellow roses. There is also a candy or trinket box with an embroidered silk lid that holds the porcelain lady. The last item of note is a German bisque Bathing Beauty with nice molding and lovely facial painting. The bisque is excellent and it is marked "F MADE IN GERMANY 13, J.D.K., 211." The composition body is in good condition, but the hands and arms have some paint splits and wear. The bed measures 21 1/2"L x 12"W x 10 1/8"T (top of headboard). It is in great condition and the bed reassembles easily. The chest of drawers with harp swivel mirror measures 9 3/4" L x 4 3/4"D x 15 1/4"T. It is in very good condition, but the original mirror has a crack in it, which can easily be replaced. The wash stand measures 7 3/4"L x 4 3/4"D x 8 7/8"T. It is in very nice condition. All pieces are very solid and finished in a golden oak, and the finish is in very good condition. The lot contians: a 6" petite German bisque doll by Kestner on a great flapper body. She has excellent bisque with a closed mouth and is mounted on a good composition flapper body (needs restring); a pair of 11" tall German porcelain half-dolls mounted on wire frames with attached parasols. Both appear to have excellent porcelain. The lady in bright pink has been redressed, but still has her original zipper pouch beneath the dress. The other lady has dusting and rusting of the wire frame coming through the fabric; a French powder cannister with a plaster half-doll lid. It is in fair condition with chipping of the yellow skirt paint and other paint scuffs all over. It has two paper labels stating, "TERRE DE RETZ, MODELE DEPOSE- MADE IN FRANCE" and "FLORE REALE, NEW YORK-PARIS". She does have her original powder, that has now been contained in a tissue paper pouch; a pair of German porcelain half-dolls with "arms-away". The taller one measures 3 1/4" tall painted flowers flanking her head. The smaller one measures 2 3/4" tall. One of her pinkie fingers may have a a break, but it appears to be more likely a factory flaw; a Mary Lowell Queen Victoria Bust glass lotion bottle in good condition. Arranged upon a wooden platform is a painted wooden/paper fortification with towers, turrets, cannons, gates and guardhouse, along with wooden soldiers. Around the back is a movable walkway, and when the porcelain-tip knob at the front is turned music plays while the soldiers "march" along in formation. The wooden works and music box are hidden beneath the base. Mechanism and music function well, the finish is original albeit with some wear, small hole below one front tower, and age rubs. Germany, mid-1800s. 24" Limited Edition Steiff Millennium Bear Band in mint condition with original box.

The total measurements of the assembled bandstand is 24"t x 19 3/4"l x 15"d. The original box is slightly bigger at 26"t x 20 1/4"l x 14"d. The set comes with the five tagged mohair bears and their instruments the band stage box, removable sign and front steps. This set has always been stored in it's original box and has only been removed for our photograph, so everything is in mint condition. Included is the Steiff COA which states that it is #00156 of 2000 and describes the set as, "The Millennium Band", consists of five lovingly crafted Teddy bears on a wooden stage with velvet curtains and a high-quality musical box made by the traditional manufacturer Reuge; the box plays the tune "When The Saints Go Marching In". Each bear is dressed in a velvet jacket and plays one of the following musical instruments: drums, clarinet, banjo, trumpet or trombone. All of the bears are marked with a white consecutively numbered ear tag and carry the famous "Button in Ear". It is presented on an original paper mache, and painted paper, background designed to appear as a choppy sea and surrounding countryside with pathways. A churning wooden boat is in the “sea” as the sailor is steering it home. All the while the two bisque head children dance in front the mirrored back overlook. French, mid-1800s. The automaton is in extremely worn condition, may have missing parts, and requires nimble and loving care for its well-deserved preservation. NEW INFORMATION ADDED ON 9/30/21......A winding string has been added and the mechanism works. The music plays (2 tunes) The boat rocks, a possible rudder wire moves back and forth, and the two children dance. Standing upon a velvet-covered wooden platform which contains the hidden mechanism is a bisque head boy holding a pewter bowl in his left hand and a bubble-blowing toy pipe in the other, nice velvet costume, blue glass eyes, open mouth, marked JV for Lanternier. The automaton needs restoration, and when restored, he will dab the pipe into a bowl of bubble water, lift to his lips and through a series of rubber tubing, cause bubbles to "blow" into the air. The lot consists of: a 10 1/2" cowboy in good condition with great paint and finish.There are two small black paint squiggles on the back of the head and some dusting all over. His leather holster straps are broken and repaired; the second doll is a 15" tall "Kinky" black child with pigtails. Her paint is good but there is lifting paint behind the ears on both sides of the head. She appears to be dressed in her original jumper and socks. She has one original looking shoe. The jumper is extremely faded and has some staining. She still retains her original cardboard tag that states "KINKY, A KIDDIE PAL DOLLY"; the next doll is an 18" Shirley Temple in good condition. She has good paint with very mild crazing all over, but no lifting of paint. Most of the craze lines are nearly invisible. She comes wearing her original dress, cotton skirted onesie, socks and shoes (toes are worn through; the last doll is a 20" Mamma doll by Century doll company. The face and breastplate paint is in great condition. The paint on the arms is good with very mild crazing and the paint on the legs is good with some lifting on th front of the right leg. She has a worn blonde wig and a loose white dress with lace edge and collar. The next is a 7" model #44 by Gebruder Kuhnlenz on a lower quality flapper-style body with set brown glass eyes. She is wearing a pale pink dress, brunette wig with pink tie pigtails. The final doll is a painted bisque #251 model child by Heubach Kopplesdorf. It comes seated in its original blue wooden high chair and dressed in its original clothes. It has deep cobalt blue glass sleep eyes. The bisque on all of the dolls appears to be excellent, though many of the original wigs have not been removed. They have been inspected well and there is no sign of damage or repairs. The composition body is clean but has some paint flaking at joints. There is an interesting factory flaw on her upper forehead that looks like a deep dig in the bisque. It has the original oilcloth padded seat and sunshade cover (small repair of oilcloth on sunshade). Please note that we will disassemble the stroller for shipping, to make it smaller and safer.
